An excellent cruise
by Alyce T. from CT.
Sailing date:
Jun 2010
Pros:
the staff's responsiveness to our needs; the cordiality ==up to the staff supervisor (who wasn't above getting you a cup of coffee_also, the entertainment on board was exceptional; the vegas show production was spectacular; also, the small group entertainers==the violinist, guitarist; combo groups
Cons:
not enough info regarding the drop offs on ports of call; especially Rome==had to take a train (l=1/2 hrs.) & then a cab just to get to the spanish stairs; it was an ordeal that we could have done without; as we had been to italy many times before.
we were very impressed with the ship; the staff geniality; the cleanliness & responsiveness of crew.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
with so many passengers; the ship was well organized so everything went over well.
Dining/Food
Stateroom Quality
our room with balcony made us feel like we were on a floating hotel; it was great seeing the ports of call from our balcony. we even had breakfast in our room prior to a debarcation.
Ship Staff Quality
the staff was the #1 amenity; we've been on other cruises but didn't have the international quality of hominess that the crew provided.
Entertainment & Activities
the las vegas show production & ice=sakting show & small groups, e.g. the calypso band @ the pool & even the library was helpful.
Children's Programs
the cruise offered something for everyone.;; we especially enjoyed the "My Time" dining option.

Ports of Call:
Ajaccio, Corsica
we really enjoyed this island; the friendliness of the people & restaurant responsiveness
Cagliari, Sardinia
although this was the main reason for taking this cruise; we were mostly disappointed by this island from all the ports of call.
Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy
i would like to have been advised to not get off the ship ==it wasn't worth all the bother to get to rome==we were under the impression that we were goiing to be dropped off in the Vatican Area which didn't happen; if we were forewarned the inconvenience involved to get to rome center==we would have stayed on board; it was a wasted day.
Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands
we also enjoyed this island.

Wonderful Cruise with a great Cruise Lin
by Pedro C from Richmond, VA
Sailing date:
Sep 2009
Pros:
The ship, The food, Ports of call, Shows, Shopping Experience aboard at affordable prices etc
Cons:
There was nothing that I was dissapointed in
This is our second Cruise aboard Royal Caribbean Ships first on the Jewel of the Seas and now on the Adventure of the Seas. I would definetely recommend these ships we had the best time in both of them plus Royal Caribbean has by far the best shows and the crew really tries hard to work with each passenger to accomodate them fully

Spectacular cruise
by Eric R from Greenville, MS
Sailing date:
Aug 2009
Pros:
Entertainment, food, ports of call, excursions
The ship and cruise experience was spectacular, beyond my expectation. The staff were always courteous, friendly and helpful. The food in the main dining hall was excellent. The food in the Italian specialty restaurant, The Portofino, was nothing less than superb. We did not miss any of the evening shows in the Lyrica theatre. The musicians were superb and entertaining. Phil Tag, the comedian, was so funny, and can't wait to see him again on Jay Leno. We had perfect weather at all of our ports of call, and enjoyed snorkeling in Barbados and Antigua, and tree zip-lining in St. Lucia. The beaches were best on St. Maarten, esp. Orient beach. The port at St. Croix was disappointing, but the beaches are nice at the better resorts (we went to the Buccaneer). The shopping was also the best in St. Maarten. The cruise shopping director overpushed Diamonds International and Columbia Emeralds, and much fine jewelry, watches and local crafted products could be found at much better prices.

best vacation
by Judy B. from San Diego, CA
Sailing date:
Jul 2009
Pros:
kid's club
Cons:
arrival time at the ports
That was the best vacation we ever had. The kid's club was open till 10 pm free of charge, and after that it was $5/hour per child. They were open till 2 am, so after dropping the kids at the kid's club we were going out every day. We haven't done that in a long time. The entertainment was great: something new each night: from ice skating show to the production show Vegas style to different type of music in the bars. The food was good, but nothing special and even though they had restaurants open 24 hours a day, I didn't put any weight on. The worst thing was, that after going to bed at 1-2 am, it was very difucult to get up early enough to be able to get to the tours that they had. Luckily, we were able to get a taxi and get to the beach without any problems. Fortunately, the beaches were the only interesting things on the islands. There wasn't anything else to see, except St. Marten, that has somewhat unusual history. Anyway, now we are thinking about going on a short cruise for a weekend, instead of going to Vegas, the place we used to go for a short out of town trip.

we took a taxi tour over the island that took us to the Dutch and French side. That was good, and the beach

Next time it's a suite.
by Judi from New York
Sailing date:
Sep 2007
Pros:
The food was fabulous and the cleanliness superb. The ship is impressive in its appearance.
We love cruising, but next time we will book a suite, mainly because you don't have to wait on interminably long lines, in the heat and humidity, to board the ship. I filled out the sea-pass ahead of time at home on the computer but still had to wait--all in all the ship is wonderful and is worth every penny, but the boarding and disembarking are the worst part. Please think of a more pleasant way to go through this.

Great adult family vacation.
by Carole from Providence, RI
Sailing date:
Jul 2007
Pros:
We met a bartender in the Sports bar and he was the greatest. Always had a smile and made you feel so welcomed. Staff in general were always friendly and helpful. The entertainment was great, even our 20 something kids enjoyed it.
This was a college graduation celebration and we all had a wonderful time. The staff was friendly and helpful. The islands were beautiful.

Beware the dark side of Barbados. Barbados is a beautiful island and most of the locals are friendly.
Don't Miss:
The beaches are beautiful.
St. John, U.S.V.I.
Antigua has great beach activities. We enjoyed our beach day. My son rode a jetski and our daughters went horseback riding on the beach. Mom and Dad were happy to lounge in chairs, read and relax.
Castries, St. Lucia
The Reduit Beaches are beautiful.
Don't Miss:
The Beaches.
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
Shopping in St. Maarten was great. Shopped the Dutch side. It was great. But be careful when purchasing jewelry. Prices are very inflated on the tags. Had to have my purchase repaired one week after returning home. Best advice is buyer beware.
Don't Miss:
The mixture of the two cultures/Fench and Dutch.
