Great cruise even with detour!
by Mandy c. from Nashvillle, tn
Sailing date:
Aug 2012
Pros:
Nassau
Cons:
Freeport
Lots of things to do. Only one pool which made it hard to swim on days at sea. Really good cruise director. Man jumped overboard first night, so we had to miss our first port in key west, which I was really looking forward to, but they added Freeport instead.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Wish it had another pool.
Dining/Food
Dining rooms had by far the best food.
Stateroom Quality
Cleaned room twice a day. Super friendly room staff!
Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & Activities
There could definitely be more activities, but it was good.

Our thirtieth anniversary cruise, our fi
by David S from Cleveland, Ohio
Sailing date:

Pros:
Ship staff, the ship itself and the food.
Cons:
Nassau
The Fascination though an older ship is still full of fight and vigor. Carnival is continuing to upgrade this ship and it is yet to show her age. I was on the Fantasy before this renovation (both ships have the same configuration) and this is by far better.

An awesome experience!
by Meagan T from New Orleans, LA
Sailing date:
Apr 2012
Pros:
Comedy shows
Cons:
Drink prices
I was a first time cruiser and it was a great experience. The wait staff was awesome and remembered our preferences, the cabin stewards were very friendly and kept our cabin clean, the bartenders were also very nice! There was staff constantly cleaning and keeping the ship "tidy". The comedy shows (Tim Foss and The Cowbow Comedian) were fantastic, the food was great, the shows were entertaining. We missed our Freeport port because of bad weather, but I was grateful that the captain would make a call that was in the best interest of our safety! Our excursions were refunded before we even had to look at our account, that very same morning, so there was absolutely no hassle in the fact that we missed it, and it gave us another fun ship day, which was still amazing!

I was very impressed with the constant cleaning of the ship. I dont think I ever saw dust or a mess or a dirty window!
Dining/Food
I'm a picky eater, but there was always something for me to eat, and everything that I did try, tasted good!
Stateroom Quality
A friend said she thought the rooms would be bigger, but I was satisfied with the size of the room....I wasn't planning on spending much time in there anyways!
Ship Staff Quality
They were all amazing, I did not have any bad experiences. Everyone was helpful when we needed them and friendly when we didnt!
Entertainment & Activities
My favorite was the comedy shows!!

Great Time
by A Traveler from Indiana
Sailing date:
Feb 2012
Pros:
Stateroom Service
Cons:
Drink Prices
Overall We were very happy with the ship, crew, food. The only thing was the drinks prices were salty. Luckily me and my wife didn't drink much on the ship.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
The ship was perfect size, with the hand guide that you receive was perfect getting around!
Dining/Food
The Dinning room was wonderful. Service was Excellent!
Stateroom Quality
We stayed in a Ocean view room which was perfect for us being first time cruisers. The beds for me were hard but you will have that.
Ship Staff Quality
I can say enough about the staff. They were great, friendly, would do anything and everything to make your trip a great one. Lee our steward was Wonderful, our dinning room staff were also over the top. Great job to them all.
Entertainment & Activities
So much to do and so little time to do it. the Comedian Roman was hilarious, we laughed from the time he started till the time it was over.

What a great time!
by Richard M from Lansing, MI
Sailing date:
Feb 2012
Pros:
The food, shows, staff, and greats were wonderful
Cons:
Money for Alcohol!
The ship was spotless the entire cruise. This ship is a little older but still beautiful!
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Everything was clean and even in the Casino where you could smoke, the smoke eaters make it so that you didn't come out smilling like an ashtray.
Dining/Food
The food on the ship was supurb and had the variety to suit all. One of the people we came down with has a peanut alergy and they wen't out of thier way to accomodate.
Stateroom Quality
Didn't spend much time in the stateroom but housekeeping was great.
Ship Staff Quality
Staff was the best and always happy! They were one of the hilights of the cruise

by Paul S. from Houma, LA

Jan 2012
Pros:
The crew
Cons:
Nothing
The ship was great. Huge and stable.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
A little confusing reqarding what was where - fore and aft - but the hand guide was very helpful.
Dining/Food
Wow. Not to be missed.
Stateroom Quality
I thought they were going to be small. They were fine. Very clean. Try visiting Japan or Switzerland if you want to see what a small room is.
Ship Staff Quality
Great!
Entertainment & Activities
Top Notch - particularly the shows, True Identity, George Adams, The Show Band, etc. Real Pro's.

First Cruise! I'm an addict!
by Brandi W from Smiths, AL
Sailing date:
Nov 2011
Pros:
So much to do!
Cons:
Debarkation slightly stressful on Riviera deck
My overall impression is that this ship has the best, friendliest staff of anywhere that I have stayed. The food was awesome, the ship was immaculate 24/7, and the whole atmosphere was just awesome.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Very beautiful and extremely clean.
Dining/Food
Food was awesome. I highly recommend "your-time" dining (what we had). We didn't have to wait long for the evening dining room. The ledo deck food was also very tasty. The presentation, the variety, and the taste of everything was just top notch!
Stateroom Quality
staterooms were small but we weren't there much anyway so this had no impact on our ship. The rooms were very clean and the room service was awesome.
Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & Activities
Our ship director, Jen, was the best. She made the cruise very organized and also made it so much for fun!

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island
Very clean and the people were a lot nicer at this port. I was barefoot from being on the beach and I stepped on a yellow jacket which stung me through my toe. There were absolute strangers (locals) that went completely out of their way to help me. They put lime on my foot and took the sting away. They were so nice. Anyway, the beaches were so clean and the water was bright blue. We had a fabulous time. I even danced and did pool aerobics with a free instructor. This was very relaxing and fun.
Don't Miss:
Wyndam all inclusive excursion resort. This was a blast!
Nassau, Bahamas
Nassau was nasty and very impoverished. We wanted to just walk around this port, we didn't buy an excursion for this one and we should have. We got ripped off at a tshirt/souveneir shop. Most places just made up prices without having them labeled. We went back to the ship and had a lovely day.
Don't Miss:
must have an excursion package... our biggest regret.
