Wonderful cruise!
by Mike P. from Panama City Beach, FL
Sailing date:
Nov 2011
Pros:
The Coconut Grove buffet was outstanding, great food. The shows were really great, Vegas quality shows on a cruise ship!
Cons:
Long lines for checking in at Jaxport, and Immigration delays on debarkation.
We've cruised Princess and NCL, this was our first Carnival cruise, we could not have been more impressed. November is perfect time to go to Bahamas, not too hot, calm seas. The ship has been renovated, really nice! Not too big a ship, easy to find your way around the ship. The Jacksonville, FL cruise ship terminal is very convenient and easy to find, great location for southeast U.S. cruisers!
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
This ship was just the right size, not too big so you get lost onboard. Lots of seating in dining rooms and buffet area, the swimming pool can get a bit crowded on hot days. The water slide on the back of the ship was really nice. Love the jogging area on top deck too.
Dining/Food
Coconut Grove buffet was fantastic! Great quality of food and something new every day. Compared to our last Princess cruise, this was much better food.
Stateroom Quality
Stateroom was nice, the bathroom has limited shelving for toilet articles, and our bathroom sink was clogged up the entire 5 days, maintenance never did get it fixed.
Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & Activities
The shows in the Palace theatre were top notch, singing and dancing and pyrotechnics, much like a Vegas show.

Not much to do here or see here.
Nassau, Bahamas
Nassau was very interesting, lots to see, but lots of poverty in the Bahamas, see Paradise island for the more modern stuff. We're not big shoppers so that didn't appeal to us in downtown Nassau.
Don't Miss:
Paradise Island.

Best Honeymoon Idea EVER!
by A Traveler from Cary, NC
Sailing date:
Jul 2011
Pros:
Freeport, our lovely Service team at meal times! MLADEN ROCKS!! The friendly staff members on the excursions in the bahamas.. and HELLO! The beautiful private beaches!! AHHH Bliss!
Cons:
How crowded Nassau is
We recently sailed on the Carnival Fascination for our honeymoon. We had never cruised before, and I had never left the country. My husband has only left the country for Marine duty to Iraq. We had no idea what to expect, but we knew we were in for a good time. The formal night was lovely! I loved that we could choose to dress up on every other night we chose to eat in the sensation dining room and it felt like going to a 5 star restaurant. The staff is knowlegeable, and I felt delighted that even the hostess took the time to remember our names. Out of 2000 people cruising, it truly felt like it was just my husband and I on the ship. The live entertainment in the palace was AMAZING!! Coming from a musical background, they were really awesome and the dancers (from ballet to break) were PHENOMENAL! The staterooms were nicely sized, we got a room with portholes, which was such a great idea. The bathroom was comfortable also, and the water stayed IN the shower, it didn't leak all over the bathroom floor like I would have suspected.

Ship Quality
Very clean, comfortable, easy on/off at shore excursions
Dining/Food
Food variety was vast, all the food was delectable.
Stateroom Quality
Much more like a hotel room than what I was envisioning.
Ship Staff Quality
They could work at a 5 star/ 5 diamond property!!
Entertainment & Activities
We never got bored! So much to do!!

Fantastic Cruise
by Sarah M from Dalton GA
Sailing date:
May 2011
Pros:
Food, Entertainment, Activities
Cons:
Freeport
This was such a wonderful vacation. The food was to die for, and the service was wonderful. There were plenty of activities to keep us busy the entire trip. The only thing i didnt enjoy about the trip was one of the destinations. Freeport was so boring really nothing to do there other than go to the beach. Loved everything else though

Amazing time!
by Chris T. from South Portland, ME
Sailing date:
Aug 2010
Pros:
Loved the ship, food, everything!
Cons:
Freeport was a bit disappointing
This was our first cruise and it was our honeymoon. We had an amazing time on this ship. The ship was beautiful and we had a great time just exploring the ship and all of its many areas. There was no lack of food on this ship and it all was delicious! The dining experience at night with its three course meals was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend going every night as the menu changes each night and there is something for everyone. Nassau was a nice port with a lot of shopping and the port itself was beautiful. Freeport was a little less impressive and we were not very happy about the twenty five minute taxi ride to the beach in a cramped van with no air conditioning. I would do the cruise all over again but we would probably skip Freeport and just stay on the ship. Overall I would recommend anyone try it at least once and Carnival is the way to go! We are already planning on going next year with both of our families.

Very run down, long cramped cab ride to the beach areas and shops. The only saving grace is that the water at the beaches was very warm and you can drink alcohol on the streets!
Don't Miss:
The beaches are very nice and the water was probably around 70 degrees.
Nassau, Bahamas
Large variety of shopping, port was very colorful as well as the architecture.

Far exceeded our expectations!
by A Traveler from atlanta, ga
Sailing date:
Aug 2010
Pros:
wonderful food, clean, excellent staff
Cons:
none. we had a great time and will do this again
I was very nervous when we got to Jacksonville and found out the ship was full. Boarding in Jacksonville was chaotic and disorganized. Once we got on the ship, the crowd disappeared. We never stood in a long line or waited for anything.

Dining/Food
great food and lots of variety. You can eat a lot but there are also good choices of fruits, lean meats, and vegetables. Dessert table will get you every time. Delicious! I always asked the server which dessert to select and I was never disappointed
Stateroom Quality
much more room than I expected
Ship Staff Quality
Excellent staff. They were always there when we needed them, but I never felt they were hovering or too pushy.
Entertainment & Activities
Comedian was hilarious. Shows were a little cheesy but what do you expect. Deck entertainment was good.

We did the dolphin swim and enjoyed it. I think we could have taken one of the earlier buses and walked around the down town prior to our dolphin swim. Everything is right there together within walking distance.
Nassau, Bahamas
The sailing and snorkeling excursion was a lot of fun. We would thought it was worth what we paid. Senor Frogs is a must just to watch the people. The DJ was amazing and he had the entire restaurant involved with his antics. Can't remember when we laughed so hard. Our teenagers enjoyed the dancing even though they were the only ones not drinking.
