Best Vacation Ever
by Mark T from Matthews, NC
Sailing date:
Jun 2012
Pros:
Relaxing Atmosphere, Food, Plethora of things to do
Cons:
One sleepless night because of rough seas and rocking ship
Awesome ship. So well laid out and marked and easy to navigate. Always felt our entire family was very safe.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Extremely clean and maintained. Nice variety of places to sit and relax.
Dining/Food
I've neve seen so much food. I had to try a little of just about everything. Hostess was extremely attentive to our daughter's dietary needs of no gluten or dairy. Would have liked to see a few more gluten/dairy free options on general line in Lido deck, perhaps Sorbet and some gluten free desserts. Also would have lked to see some fresh berry fruits at fruit bar.
Stateroom Quality
Extremely comfortable bed and bedding.
Ship Staff Quality
Great people - so friendly and attentive. It seemed important to them that we were having a great time.
Entertainment & Activities
Shows were great, especially Beatles tribute. Also enjoyed having a place where I could go hang out and watch sports.
Children's Programs
Fabulous for my 12-year-old daughter. 10-year-old daughter did not enjoy Camp Carnival that much though she enjoyed a few things. She thought many of the activities were too juvenile. 16-year-old son did not enjoy Club 02 but made several new friends whom he hung out with the entire time.

GREAT TIME
by Cathy B from Stedman, NC
Sailing date:
Jan 2012
Pros:
All of it
Cons:
Boarding ship was delayed with coast guardm inspection, which was good, but it took time away from boarding the ship - no compensation for inconvenience. Free drink coupon or something. We had to wait over 2 hours to board and buffet was closing when we boarded
The cruise was wonderful once aboard. Good varied activities and food choices

The quality of the entertainment shows was a little below what I had seen previously on ships. The comedy show was good.

Ready to go again!
by Marcia T. from Clayton, NC
Sailing date:
Dec 2011
Pros:
The Carnival staff, painless boarding and departure
Cons:
Slow elevators, internet access price out of our price range
I'll make this review short and sweet. We took the 5 day cruise to Freeport and Nausau. Nausau was beautiful. I highly recommend the Sea Lion experience in Nausau. The Carnival staff were very friendly, efficient and treated us almost like royalty! I will never forget some of them and the special way they made me feel. I am picky about cleanliness of where I sleep and eat and everything was always immaculate in stateroom, dining areas, and common areas. We just got home yesterday and we are already talking about taking another cruise. I recommend the Carnival Fantasy. The Charleston port that it departs from is only about 3 hours from our home near Raleigh, NC.

Dining/Food
You will never go hungry on this ship.
Stateroom Quality
There are beautiful views of the ocean in every dining area.
Ship Staff Quality
You will meet the friendliest staff that originate from every corner of the world.
Entertainment & Activities
This time around we only saw a couple of Christmas shows. We also caught a couple of karaoke sessions that were really fun to watch. Next time we will make time to see more of the shows that are offered.
Children's Programs
We took two 16 year olds with us and while they enjoyed their time at Club 02, they complained that there was nothing fun that was available to them being under the age of 18. I know that they missed their texting and cell phones and that may have been part of them feeling bored.

Absolutely Perfect Cruise
by Wendy Cobb from Shelby, NC
Sailing date:
Nov 2011
Pros:
Staff was awesome, Cabin was Great.
Cons:
Our seas were rough, not Carnivals fault though. And the baggage folks totally wrecked one of my bags.
I cannot say one single bad thing about the ship, the crew, the service, the food, anything. We had a blast and would do it again in a second!
Ship Details:

Stateroom Quality
Our room was cleaned and the bed made every single time we left it. And not ONCE did we see the room steward, they were invisible. The ice bucket was constantly full. One morning we left the room for 15 minutes to watch the sunrise, and the bed was made when we got back. It was amazing!
Ship Staff Quality
We renewed our vows while on the ship, and the staff was amazing. Not just for the service, but before, after, and until the end.

Much more relaxed, did most of our souvenir shopping here. Absolutely recommend the Grand Bahama Cruise and Shopping excursion. They crew on the Bahama Mama was awesome, they took us some great places. Awesome day.
Nassau, Bahamas
Lots of people told us to skip Freeport and go into Nassau, but I thought Nassau was very crowded in their markets, they vendors were much pushier, and the deals weren't all that great.

I'll never vacation another way!
by Victoria S. from Rock Hill, SC
Sailing date:
Mar 2011
Pros:
not having to lift a single finger.
Cons:
my significant other got food poisoning the last night
Being a first time cruiser I didn't have alot of expectations. After cruising on the Carnival Fantasy I can safely say that I'll never go on vacation another way! For the same cost as renting a house at the beach I had a workfree vacation with no extra driving/cooking/or cleaning. It was amazing!

I have no idea why a cruise ship would stop here. If we hadnt booked an excursion we would have been bored senseless! (The boat had no shortage of activities if you stayed on though)
Don't Miss:
snorkling (the reef was amazing)
Nassau, Bahamas
Don't Miss:
Blue Lagoon Island (much nicer than Atlantis with half the people!)
