Wonderful cruise
by Amy P. from Reidsville, NC
Sailing date:
Sep 2012
Pros:
The service was fantasic!
Cons:
Having to tell waitstaff not to clear my plate while dining on Lido deck resturants.
This was the most relaxing vacation that I have ever had. I didn't want for anything. The shows were good and entertaining, staff was great and ports were beautiful. I am already planning my next one.

Excellent Cruise Vacation!
by Jennifer G. from Anoka, MN
Sailing date:
Jul 2012
Pros:
WE loved the friendliness of the staff. They were very accomodating to all of our needs, especially our son's Gluten Free Diet. There was always something to do and the kids had a great time in the teen clubs.
Cons:
Nothing! We loved it all!
The ship was a little outdated but always very clean and met our needs.

Our Room Steward was the best! He got along great with our kids and went above and beyond to meet our needs. We also had an excellent Jr. Hostess in the dining room who made sure that our son always had plenty of great tasting Gluten Free food at his disposal.

nice cruise
by Laurie S from cocoa,florida
Sailing date:
Jun 2012
Pros:
service was friendly, food was great, had something to do for everyone
Cons:
you get charged 57.50 per person for the service to clean your rooms!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ship was extremely clean!
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Service charge to clean the rooms was crazy. I thought it would of been included with the package of the cruise. And it was per person and not per room.Total SCAM !
Dining/Food
Overall I would go back on this cruise but it wouldnt be a surprise this time the service charges to clean the room.
Stateroom Quality
I would of preferred if all the kids were not allowed in the hot tub. We had kids with floaties in the hot tub with no parents around. Very unsafe
Ship Staff Quality
Love the animals on the beds.
Entertainment & Activities
Rooms were a lot bigger than all the other cruises I have been on!
Children's Programs
Nice and relaxing vacation Had fun spending time on the island as well as sending time on the boat.

December paradise
by Tom F. from Orlando, Florida
Sailing date:
Dec 2011
Pros:
The staff was very attentive and quickly addressed any request.
Cons:
The room was a little cooler than we like and there was no way to make it a little warmer.
The ship was clean and the service was fantastic. There was always something to do so if anyone was bored it was because they wanted to be. The stateroom was clean and comfortable. The entertainment was great as was the food. My wife and I were both highly satisfied with the cruise, the ship and the staff.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
All the public areas were spotless, there was always someone cleaning something, If something was dropped or spilled someone was there immediately to clean the area. When a cup or glass was left behind it was quickly picked up. The main lobby was brightly lit with plenty of neon and filled with music. The only thing we had an issue with was the elevators were a bit slow and it seed like at least one was always down for repairs.
Dining/Food
The food was great. The buffets were good and there was a variety to choose from. The hours the buffets were open were more than enough. The food in the main dining room was fantastic. The portions were good but if you wanted something more just ask and it was delivered quickly.
Stateroom Quality
The stateroom was good, it was clean and comfortable. The only complaint we had was the room was a little colder than we like and there was no way to make it any warmer, it was easy to make it colder but not warmer.
Ship Staff Quality
All the staff are friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. The housekeeping staff was outstanding. They cleaned the room twice a day. Several times we came back to the stateroom and showered and napped. When we returned from dinner the room was cleaned and the towels replaced. The wait staff in the dining room was excellent. Our waiter took time each evening to show my wife Napkin Origami. I don't think the staff even knows the word NO, any reasonable request was quickly handled with a smile. The staff made the cruise very enjoyable.
Entertainment & Activities
There were two full production shows featuring the Ecstasy singers and dancers that were fantastic. The Cruise Director Steve was awesome! Not only did he arrange everything he also performed several times and he is quite talented.

Beautiful & clean ship
by A Traveler from Texas
Sailing date:
Jun 2011
Pros:
Everything-the casual dining at night
Cons:
The first day of checking in
We had went on the Fantasy cruise ship years ago so we knew how beautiful this was going to be. It really made it nice to sail out of Galveston, Texas since we live in Texas. We decided next time not to bother with bringing our water and sodas. There was always water and lemonade to drink on the ship. I can't wait for Carnival to bring in a larger ship into Galveston for us to sail on.

We hated this place. Carnival needs to pick out a more popular port.

In a word-WOW....
by Tami Morse from Arkansas
Sailing date:
Apr 2011
Pros:
Pretty much all of it
Cons:
Having to go back home and to work
Everyone was super nice. The food was amazing. This was our first cruise but will not be our last. We are already setting up for another next year.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Ship was great but getting around can be confusing. Each deck had a couple of names it went by. I think they could have just used numbers to make it easier.
Dining/Food
Some of the best food I've ever had. A lot of variety and choices.
Stateroom Quality
Room was great. Had air, lcd tv and private shower and bath. We just had a stateroom but it was really nice.
Ship Staff Quality
Staff was really great. They always went out of their way to help and were super friendly.
Entertainment & Activities
Entertainment was good but sometimes too many things you wanted to do would overlap each other.

Progreso (Merida), Mexico
Progreso was okay but not near as nice as Cozumel. The people were great just the water and such were not as nice.
Don't Miss:
Mayan Ruins- the water is way better at Cozumel

This was my first cruise and it was wonderful. The rooms were great and the beds were really comfortable. The crew on the ship were nothing but helpful and I had a great experience.

I did a historical Merida and rum tasting excursion. It was great. I didn't go to the beach but the water didn't look as clear as Cozumel.

Sailing date:

Pros:
The crew and staff are some of the hardest working professionals I have ever seen!

Wonderful Vacation on the Ecstasy
by A Traveler from Houston, Texas
Sailing date:
Sep 2010
Pros:
Lots of relaxation
Cons:
Nothing bad to say
I thought the ship had a lot of amenitiies - the fitness center had the equipment I use and the morning stretch class was good (and free!). The . The cruise director was really funny and talented. Overall, I don't have anything bad to say.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Although the Ecstasy is supposed to be a "smaller" ship - it seemed to have everything I needed.
Dining/Food
food was good - enjoyed the "your choice dining" and the buffets, pizza and deli were very good also. I especially liked the variety on the salad and fruit/cheese bar.
Stateroom Quality
Our stateroom was large enough - well arranged and clean. The cagin stewards kept us supplied with clean towels and the room service in the morning (I can't think about getting up without a cup of coffee) was prompt.
Ship Staff Quality
I didn't encounter any rude staff. Had a couple of questions for guest services that they couldn't answer - but it wasn't a big deal.

We did a shore excursion that wasn't through Carnival (Nachi Cocom) and it was great. Good food, great service, pretty beach.
Progreso (Merida), Mexico
Shopped around a ittle at the dock - but spent most of the day in the spa!

Fantastic Cruise. Short but Sweet.
by B C from Longview, Texas
Sailing date:
Jul 2010
Pros:
Friendliness of staff. Help was at every turn and most often a staff member would stop what he/she were doing to show us a specific place or answer to a question.
Cons:
The stateroom was not as large as I anticipated for 3 people(Balcony)but we managed just fine after we got all our stuff settled.Fr
I had 2 of my grandaughters with me. It was a first cruise for one, and my 12,th although not any of others had been with Carnival. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The food was gereat and plentiful. Our cabin was always clean and neat. I would have liked to have had brighter lights , especially for reading at night. Overall, the cruise was what we expected. and will plan on another, possibly next summer.
Ship Details:

Dining/Food
We tried to get the Eat at Your Leisure time, but had to stay with the late dining that was originally scheduled.
Stateroom Quality
For 3, it was a little crowded but we managed.. A setee or hideabed would have been nice.Being in a balcony room helped as we did not feel so bunched up.

We had a blast on the beach, parasailing and ziplining. It would have been better if we had had more time. I know we tried to crowd in a lot, and get in a lot of shopping, too.
Don't Miss:
Beaches
Progreso (Merida), Mexico
We wanted to be more "on our own" as we toured the Big Aztec Ruins.
