Excellent Cruise Vacation!
by Jennifer G. from Anoka, MN
Sailing date:
Jul 2012
Pros:
WE loved the friendliness of the staff. They were very accomodating to all of our needs, especially our son's Gluten Free Diet. There was always something to do and the kids had a great time in the teen clubs.
Cons:
Nothing! We loved it all!
The ship was a little outdated but always very clean and met our needs.

Our Room Steward was the best! He got along great with our kids and went above and beyond to meet our needs. We also had an excellent Jr. Hostess in the dining room who made sure that our son always had plenty of great tasting Gluten Free food at his disposal.

Pros:

Cons:
you get charged 57.50 per person for the service to clean your rooms!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ship was extremely clean!
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Service charge to clean the rooms was crazy. I thought it would of been included with the package of the cruise. And it was per person and not per room.Total SCAM !
Dining/Food
Overall I would go back on this cruise but it wouldnt be a surprise this time the service charges to clean the room.
Stateroom Quality
I would of preferred if all the kids were not allowed in the hot tub. We had kids with floaties in the hot tub with no parents around. Very unsafe
Ship Staff Quality
Love the animals on the beds.
Entertainment & Activities
Rooms were a lot bigger than all the other cruises I have been on!
Children's Programs
Nice and relaxing vacation Had fun spending time on the island as well as sending time on the boat.

Not bad for a first cruise
by Sharon Mercer from United States
Sailing date:
Jun 2012
Pros:
The clean rooms and friendly staff
Cons:
There were too many children running around unsupervised, could not use the pool, could not walk through the hallways without getting run over by the kids. I was supposed to have gotten a free shore excursion and did not get that.
The ship was very clean, had a lot of good food. The pool was really small and you could not swim in it because it was covered with kids at all times of the day. The crew was nice and the ship was very clean. They broke all the wheels off our luggage and a lot of items were broken.

A Nice Vacation
by Meg M. from Indianapolis, IN
Sailing date:
Jun 2012
Pros:
Loved the food, Nassua
Cons:
Freeport, Small pool
We were celebrating our 1 year anniversary and wanted to do something special and this seemed like a perfect fit. Overall we had a great time. We loved the different ports, the buffet, and the amazing staff on the boat. The process to get on the boat was very easy, we got our bags a couple hours after boarding. The cruise was very relaxing and we felt like we just kept eating (because we did!)
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
The ship was perfect for first time cruisers. It did have an old feeling to it. It was very clean and you could always spot a staff member cleaning something all the time. Once you walk around the boat one time you get a pretty good feeling where everything is.
Dining/Food
The food was just ok. We are not picky eaters and love our fast food so we are not hard to please. We had a better experience with the buffet than with the sit down dinners. We chose the dine anytime option but waited at least 15- 20 mins to be seated. Once you sat down the room was always freezing and you waited a really long time to get your food. We usually alotted 2 1/2 hrs if we chose the sit down dining room. If you were drinking anything but water you hardly ever got a refill. The buffet was usually the same thing and you did not have to wait.
Stateroom Quality
The room was just fine for the 2 of us. The bathroom was pretty small but you had room by the bed to get ready with a big mirror and bench. The bed was pretty comfortable but the halls were very noisy and sleep was hard to come by 3am-7am were promising hours for peaceful sleep.
Ship Staff Quality
We loved the staff. The housekeepers were so friendly and everyone else would go out of their way to say hello.
Entertainment & Activities
We tried to go to most of the shows but found out if you wanted to get to sleep at a decent hour that there was not much to choose from. Alot of the shows started at 7pm which we always missed because it took so long to eat dinner or 10-12pm which was to late for us if we wanted to enjoy the next day.

First time cruiser
by Chris Y. from Charlotte, NC
Sailing date:
May 2012
Pros:
Excellent service from Crew, Good Food, Nice Amenities
Cons:
One Pool, Photographers, Ports
This being my first cruise with my wife, we were just looking to enjoy the cruising experience and relax. The crew members made the trip much more enjoyable. They all learned your names within a day or so and tried to make sure all of your needs were met. Our servers and head server at dinner is what made the experience so much more enjoyable. I would say overall this cruise is a good first time cruise. There are some things that I did not like and that was the constant bombardment of the ship photographers asking you to take the most ridiculous pictures. I ended up buying one because it turned out to be a nice picture but once you are asked dozens of times every night to have your picture taken, it gets old. There was also, only one pool and it wasn't very large either. There was a whole water slide area that was fun but I wish there had been at least two pools. Finally, the ports were either awesome or totally bad. Half Moon Cay is amazing. Nassau was okay but is pretty much slums (maybe this is how most islands are). Freeport seemed like it was a port they use to perform maintenance on the boat and just so happens to also have some beaches. Even some of the crew commented on how they do not know why we would really even stop at Freeport. All in all, it was a good cruise, and I would highly recommend the carnival cruise as a first time cruise. Another strong recommendation is to get a balcony. It is worth the extra money.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
The boat was nice but seemed like it had a lot of wasted space and was old feeling.
Dining/Food
The buffet food is on par with average to good food but the evening dinners were very good and kept us coming back wanting more. We didn't know at first that you can ask for multiple meal items such as 2 entrees and so on.
Stateroom Quality
Was very nice and clean. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of space to put your items. Balcony was awesome. We had a balcony off the back of the boat (aft view) and it was nice because it was larger. However, the lack of a fridge made it not a perfect room.
Ship Staff Quality
This is what made the difference. I'd rather be on an average boat with excellent staff than the opposite. Our head waiter and his staff made us all enjoy our dinners much much more by entertaining us and being very social.
Entertainment & Activities
I want to rate this lower because it seemed like there wasn't that much nightly entertainment. But Steve Cassell (cruise director) made the entertainment side awesome. He is such a gifted man but it seemed like he was the only one trying hard.

A thing to remember
by Raj D from Arkansas
Sailing date:
May 2012
Pros:
Places to see, staff and facilities on board
Cons:
Food
This was our first cruise and it was a wonderful experience from the point we got on the ship till end of the trip. The rooms are really clean and comfortable. All the people who work on board are very friendly and helpful. Lots of fun things to do. For was it was just watching the clear sea and blue sky while lounging on the chairs in our balcony. Half moon cay is the best part. Its crystal clear water and white sandy beach will blow you away. Lot of things to do from parasailing, snorkeling, horse riding to kayaking or simply swim in the beach. Nassau and Freeport are beautiful and wonderful places. Although they promote shopping a lot not many good deals and many of them are overpriced. We took a scooter to go around Freeport.the best part of it is that you explore it by your self and get to see what you want. The shore excursions are pricy and suits to those who doesn't want any risks. All the places are very safe. People are very cheering and helpful. Atlantis is beautiful and would be a great experience. You get the pass for the water sports cheaper if you buy it from them rather than from the cruise. Food and drinks on the ship could use some change and improvement. It's the usual fare of continental buffet. The restaurants offered special dishes like sea food and other international cuisines but they are not really tasty. Drinks are overpriced and has more sugar than liquid in it. I preferred the beer or spirits instead of the cocktails because of the prices and sweetness. Overall it was a wonderful experience and remarkable experience.

Another good job by the Carnival Cruise Line. Ship was clean, updated, and had a enjoyable staff. Quality of food has slipped since I cruised last in 2004 but overall an excellant value.

An 'OK' cruise
by Michelle L. from Livonia, Michigan
Sailing date:
Apr 2012
Pros:
I loved our room
Cons:
It was a constant fight for food before they closed the buffets
I've cruised before with Carnival yet I was still disappointed. There was only one nightclub and it wasn't open every night. There was only one adult area to sun and you had to get to it through the buffet or the night club doors. Kinda weird set up. The food choices and abundance was poor. There were some buffets we didn't even eat at because the line was so long, consistently. You think they would notice this and open more but no. I was actually chased away from a buffet so they could close it. Very odd for a cruise.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
The ship was very clean and lovely. I didn't really like constantly tripping over vacuums or mops though. I would have preferred them to clean at off hours instead of at prime dining times or in the middle of the day.
Dining/Food
Usually food on a cruise is wonderful. The dining room food was average. Hamburgers, fried chicken. Even the deserts were average. Nothing memorable or unique. One night was lobster and prime rib. But only one night.
Stateroom Quality
We had a porthole room and it was big and comfortable.
Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & Activities
Sometimes just one thing going on, on the ship. One comedy show was in a small room so some people couldn't even get in to see it. The variety show was OK, not the highest caliber of talent. The trip to Atlantis on Nassau was not good. A two hour endurance walk with no breaks. People with children were not happy. And a scam to get you to pay for a cab back to the ship. The return boat was set up to only pick up twice and bad times. Odd.
