Amazing time!!
by A Traveler from Atlanta, Ga
Sailing date:
Jun 2012
Pros:
the service, the ports, the room sizes
Cons:
the food
This was our first cruise and we had a great time! The ship was very nice with lots of options for entertainment and dining. It never felt crowded really, except for our day at sea.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Only complaint is that you had to go up to floor 5 and across and then down to floor 3 for dinner...seems like they could have done a better layout so that you didn't have go up and down so much.

Ship Staff Quality
The staff could not have been nicer!!! I'm not sure that you could really find better service. Everyone just made us feel at home for our week aboard! It was our first cruise but we were blown away by the friendliness.
Entertainment & Activities
The movie options could have been better around the pool area. The dancers were very talented. We didn't go to too many shows though.

Lovely time
by Daniel G. from Hutchinson, KS
Sailing date:
Jun 2012
Pros:
Plenty of time at each port.
Cons:
Number of young people running around the ship in groups after 11:00 p.m.
Great ship.

We could not indentify any of the towel animals. On prior cruises, items left around the room were used with the towel animals to great comedic effect. Not on this cruise.
Ship Staff Quality
Would have gotten Excellent except our wait staff at dinner kept forgetting my coffee.
Entertainment & Activities
Great dance shows and the comedians were entertaining. Though one did actually use Hutchinson, KS, negatively, by name in his act. Incredible coincidence.

Disappointing Cruise
by Roger S from San Antonio, TX
Sailing date:
Apr 2012
Pros:
The different islands
Cons:
Too small balconies, food and staff so-so, traveling to decks cumbersome
Ship is oldest of any we have travelled on. Getting to lower decks was cumbersome because you had to take an elevator to the 5ifth and walk across the ship to get lower decks. too many kids that were very noisty until two or three every morning. The food was not as good as it used to be and the dining room service was also not as good as it used to be. The rooms seemed smaller. We travel with an electric scooter and there was no room to place it on the balcony as we usually do. we had to pile furniture on the sofa in order to put the scooter in the room.

Ship Staff Quality
There is no bonding with staff as there used to be as staff are just there to do a job and were too busy to pay much attention to what was needed by customers. On the last night we had baked potatoes which came to us cold and with no butter or sour cream. We had to ask for butter and sour cream more than once.
Entertainment & Activities
The cruise director Felipe, the juggler and the show Vroom were great

Great Cruise, Not Great Cabin(s)
by Jacqui M from Virginia
Sailing date:
Mar 2012
Pros:
the itinerary
Cons:
the nightclub being one floor DOWN under the rooms
The weather was sunny and warm, the ship clean and functional. I enjoyed the aft balcony, but apparently nobody told us that the night club on the Victory is on the aft end of deck 5, our rooms vibrated every night and it was so loud you couldn't talk or sleep. My 15 year old niece complained and they offered to mover her to a cabin on Deck 1...for the same price (NOT). The food was not spectacular, but it was good. One of our party is a vegetarian and she found enough items on the menu nightly to make her happy. The wait staff was excellent as was Lorna at the Martini Bar on Deck 5. The cabin steward was also excellent, we never wanted for ice, drinks or towels (just a quiet night). Disembarkation was and always seems to be done randomly and is a complete mess. My mother was in a wheelchair, but there was no good access to the elevator. When we asked about getting her down to deck 0 to get off, the crew members were very confused about where we needed to take her. We gave up and did it ourselves, and got off with no further issues. Overall, it was an enjoyable cruise with family. I would not recommend staying near the nightclub if you like to sleep.

The photo staff uses the ONLY inside hallway on Deck 5 as their makeshift studio space. This setup makes it almost impossible to walk down the hall during the evening hours. Carnival needs to make a dedicated space for all their photographers instead of impeding the only walkway forward.

The mattress was hard like a rock...oh well, didn;t use it much due to the noise anyhow.

Renewd enthusiasm for Carnival
by Karen K from New paltz, NY
Sailing date:

Pros:

Cons:

I thought Adrian in the dining room went above and beyond when he was showing my son tricks. I thought Ozzie went above and beyond because he kept asking us if all was well and would give us what we requested. He also made an extra effort witht he towel animals. I noticed that. I thought Andrei from the bar team went beyond to come to wait on us. I felt like I had my own drink person. Thanks!!! He would remember what i liked and my son also. Dewi, who helped Ozzie, would go out of her way to talk and say hello when he saw us.
Entertainment & Activities
Those singers and dancers. Wow...they worked hard. Thanks!!

Pros:
all of it ... the food, the fun, the people, the friendly and helpful staff

the so-called family friendly shows ... they contained profanity and some off-color jokes
This was our first cruise and we enjoyed our time aboard. The ship was very clean. The staff so friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. The shows we attended were okay.

Agnes was our room stward and she was awesome! She was always so bright and cheery and remember all our names all the time. Incredible. Our waiter was Jerome and his assistant Edwin - both were great!
Entertainment & Activities
I don't know if you didn't have the Chef's showing on this cruise or I just missed it. One of my favorite events on my past cruises.

They are still the FUN SHIP
by Paul from Wisconsin from S.E. Wisconsin
Sailing date:
Jan 2012
Pros:
Fantastic route, De-embaekation process much improved
Cons:
Missed Tater-Tots potatoes until last morning
SAVE $$$$ by taking $20 TAXI FROM airport (+ $1per bag) to ship. Find abother cOUPLE TO SHARE THAT $20 TAXI.. Our taxi driver tried to rip us off claiming each couple owed him $20 because we did not know eachother. We argued back and won that rates are fixed by taxi authority. THE ship was in excellent shape and comparable to all the other cruise lines.
