by Melanie R from Wisconsin
Sailing date:
Mar 2012
Pros:
Wait staff was nice and honest.
Cons:
Ship late to all pots making excursions shorter and no time for shopping!
The ship tried to nickel and dime us to death. Wifi should be free at this level of the game. Pay for orange juice, pay for good drinking water, pay for a nice meal. Things that use to be included in cruising. Not sure if it's just Royal Carribean or if all cruise lines have lost their panache.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Ship was clean but old looking. Skating rink was a waste of space.
Dining/Food
The food at the beginning of the week was not good at all. Got better the closer we came to getting off the ship.
Stateroom Quality
Rooms were a good size and clean. Everything looked dated and worn.
Ship Staff Quality
The ship was changing over staff to go to Asia. Not friendly and not organized.
Entertainment & Activities
Same old same old. Nothing new or exciting.
Children's Programs
Always late. Felt rushed the entire vacation.

Quality entertainment, good experience
by Linda L from Carlisle, PA
Sailing date:
Feb 2012
Pros:
many venues for activities & space to relax away from the crowd
Cons:
boarding process inefficient
Ship is well designed, lots to do day & night, great entertainment in theater, lounges. Loved the game shows hosted by ship staff. Do not appreciate all the "extra" costs when the price of the cruise is high enough to cover some of these items. Specialty restaurants that require payment for meals are a big negative. The other dining venues provide lots of variety and My Time dining covers those folks who do not like to be seated at specific times. Of course, My Time dining also costs extra. Do not appreciate that water and soda have to be purchased & no alcohol can be brought onto the ship. Inability to have a mixed drink or beer in cabin/balcony removed a great deal of enjoyment and use of balcony. You can sit on balcony but can't have an alcoholic drink while enjoying your space. It takes awhile to go to bar, get drink, and get all the way back to your room. We rarely drink alcohol but vacation is one time I like to have a daily drink & relax on balcony after a day of activities. We may not cruise again based on these negatives. Cost of cruise is high enough to cover at least water & soda. (free water, lemonade & tea available at 2 locations in open cups-no lids) We felt we were being charged all the time for something which removed some of the pleasures of cruising.

Dining/Food
The food was excellent and we were very pleased with offerings in the Windjammer and LaBoheme dining room but as noted above, do not appreciate the extra costs of My Time Dining and Specialty restaurants. These restaurants were empty most of the week until everyone was trying to use coupons at end of week. We never used our Orbitz Specialty Dinner coupon.
Stateroom Quality
Lots of storage, 3 Suitcases even fit on closet floor of our balcony stateroom.
Ship Staff Quality
Very energetic entertainment team - wonderful. Stateroom attendants were good and dininig room team was excellent.
Entertainment & Activities
There were many good choices of activities on board. In fact, it was difficult to remember to relax away from the crowd - there always seemed to be something we wanted to do.

Very nice cruise.
by Del F. from San Diego, CA
Sailing date:
Jan 2012
Pros:
Dining Room Food, (mostly) friendly staff, great ship, fun and clean entertainment
Cons:
Inflexible shedules, poor evening food and selection in Windjammer buffet, guest services lines.
Huge ship but they handled the crowds well. Friendly and obliging staff with the exception of the guest services. Limited times they were open and always lines there. Often had broken English and hard to communicate. Never said they were sorry when they couldn't accommodate a request (although others of the staff did). Most egregious was when we told them we had to be sure we made our flight they told us we could either haul all of our own luggage through disembarkation or buy a Royal Caribbean Bus transter--which was more expensive and less convenient than a taxi!

Great cruise
by Ken K. from Philadelphia, PA
Sailing date:
Jan 2012
Pros:
The staff was unbelievable - very freindly and helpful
Cons:
Getting off of the ship was fine but trying to get the transfer to the airport was horrible.
The ship was laid out very well - the promanade deck was superb. The rooms had a lot of space to store clothes, etc. The food was excellent and the service was second to none.

Dining/Food
The food was excellent and we had no problem finding good choices, but I would have liked a few more selections to choice from.
Stateroom Quality
A lot of storage and very comfortable bed. The shower was tight but usable.
Ship Staff Quality
Every single staff member we encountered whether they were serving you or not was very friendly and helpful.
Entertainment & Activities
Good shows and comfortable surroundings.

by A Traveler from Kansas City

Pros:
Great staff, always made us feel special.
Cons:
Dining time availability.
Getting a little dated. Probably due for an interior makeover. Still very clean and liveable. Great staff, excellent activity selection.

Big Ship, but Bad Food
by A Traveler from Revere, MA
Sailing date:
Dec 2011
Pros:
Big Ship, so no motion sickness at all
Cons:
food and waiters do not smile
Recommend this ship if you worry about motion sickness on board. This Voyager of the Seas does not give you motion sickness at all. It is big, so expect there is a huge crowd if you want to use elevator. Food on board was ok. Every day they serve the same food. I think the only good food I got was a lobster meal on the 2nd to last night of the cruise. You rarely see waiters smile. Great spa service with sauna and steam rooms, but guess what? No comb or Qtips in the shower room. Men's rooms smell. The whole time I felt like I was on board, and that's all the cruise staff care. It's like "OK, I got your paid fare. Enjoy your stay. You're on your own". Our Queen bed was a combine of 2 twin beds. When my wife and I lie in the middle of the bed, we got back pain in the morning. Booked cruise with a promising promotion of 2 coupon booklets to spend on board. We received NONE. UNBELIEVABLE! Not many activities to do on board. Need to pay to rent movie. I wish this is FREE as I got from other cruise line. TV has very limitted channels. There were like at least 3 versions of E! channel in 3 different language. There was a channel that just displayed a plush bear for several days. I don't know what that purpose was. There was a channel that talked about excursions, but everyday it just talked about excursions for all islands. It should know which islands the ship already passed by and stopped talking about excursions for that particular islands because it takes forever to wait for the right excursions to come up.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Look luxury most of the part except for the men's rooms. They smell.
Dining/Food
Didn't have a good variety of food. Cappuccino is not complimentary. Come on! For Breakfast and lunch, everyday the same food was served. Dinner's service was nice and friendly, but breakfast and lunch's served waiters did not look happy at all. My wife and I felt so uncomfortable.
Stateroom Quality
Was ok. Our queen size bed was a combination of 2 twin beds. When we lie in the middle, we get back pain tin the morning. This caused us to each slept on each side of the bed.
Ship Staff Quality
Was ok. This was our 2nd time on a cruise vacation. We are still learning. We were assigned to first seating for dinner. The Room staff did not go over clearly with us on this. Turned out, we came to the dinning room at 7:20pm on the first day, and guess what? We were denied for dinner. We were told that we were late and had to wait for the 2nd seating which started at 8pm.
Entertainment & Activities
Not many activities. Same movies were screened for several days.

by Odilia V from Long Beach, CA

Pros:
Balcony Stateroom
Cons:
Paying high price for internet service, no internet service in stateroom
I had a great vacation on the cruise. The ship had everything you could possible need and the entertainment and excursions were very well planned out. The customer service was outstanding. I only wish they had internet service in the stateroom and not just in the library. Also the fees for the service were very expensive.

A very complete ship
by A traveller from London Ontario
Sailing date:
Sep 2011
Pros:
staffing is excellent
Cons:
smoking is allowed in promenade
The embarkation process was painless. Very quick to obtain our stateroom key and ship passes and we were on the gang plank in no time. This was also true when we disembarked 7 days later, it was all done in 15 minutes. The ship is in good shape with a nice variety of beverage and meal areas. A nice amount of activites were also on board.

Dining/Food
The evening meals in the formal dining room were excellent with a good variety. The meals in the Windjammer informal area were adequate but lacked some imagination. The availability of fresh fruit was appreciated.

Entertainment & Activities
The variety of entertainment was appreciated but difficult to remember what was going on when and where. It would be helpful if some screens containing ship's information were available around the ship. The ice skating show was terrific!

the old town is a must as well as walking the walls of the old city. If you do this, bring water and a hat or umbrella to protect oneself from the sun and heat. One excursion availabe was seakayaking which was available either through the ship or on land. This activity appeared to be popular and would provide a wonderful Adriatic experience.
Koper, Slovenia
We opted for the bike excursion in this port which was excellent. The tour guide was very knowledgable about Koper's history and also was a very experienced bicyclist. The bikes were of above average quality for the types of roads .. The town of Koper is both old and new and very pretty setiting along the adriatice sea.
Don't Miss:
biking.
Ravenna, Italy
The secrets of Ravenna was a waste of time unless you are or wish to be a student of mosaics. Finding a place to have lunch was difficult and perhaps would be advisable to return to ship for better value.
Venice, Italy
The Doge palace and San Marco square is a must but after that it was nice to walk away form the crowded tourist area , over the Rialto Bridge and explore the quieter and less expensive streets of San Croce and San Paolo. The gellato is always a must!

Great Ship that I would sail again very accomendating room etc.
Dining/Food
The food and service was awesome.
Stateroom Quality
Our stateroom was what we expected but had a problem with our toliet that took three days to fix but the ship crew compensated us for the trouble that we can use on our next cruise.
Ship Staff Quality
All crew staff were very freindly and helpful.
Entertainment & Activities
Great variety shows plenty of laughs.

Highly recommend the water cave tubing it was like you went back in time going through the water caves. A lot to choose from on activities.
Don't Miss:
I would not travel in the city unless I was on a excurision did not look safe. Water cave tubing is the dont miss
Cozumel, Mexico
Great city lots of shopping and went on a jeep excursion and it was great not crowded and felt like we had our own privite tour.
Don't Miss:
not enought time on island seemed rushed getting back to the ship
Roatan (Isla Roatan), Bay Islands, Honduras
Our zip line excurision was great and enjoyable highly recommend. The island is small but the beeches were very good.
Don't Miss:
not much to do if you do not go on an excursion. Very limited activities close to the ship port.

by Karen W. from Wichita, KS.
Sailing date:

Pros:
Staff was excellent
Cons:
WiFi not available, Limited balcony view
I was very disappointed in this cruise. The view from the balcony was reduced by 30%, there is no in room WiFi (of course I wasn't told this until bought a $100 package), The WiFi is very unreliable and there is no help in the computer room. There weren't any inserts in the daily letters about shows or ports. I never did find a way to find out about the shows. And no chocolates at night turn down. We are seniors and we don't snorkel, zip line, ride 4x4's etc. The tours for non athletic people are really, really poor. A total waste of time. This ship and destinations are not up Royal Caribbean standards.

We are sedentary and the the tour we took was awful.
Montego Bay, Jamaica
We went to Dunns Waterfall and I climbed up the falls to about half way and it was a lot of fun. But no one told us that we would be climbing in the water. Also have to have deck shoes - something else no one told us. But I had a blast. A long way to go.
