it was a relaxing cruise by
Michelle L from Los Angeles Sailing date: Aug 2012The cruise was very relaxing. It was an older crowd than I anticipated so all the activates were age appropriate. the excursions were very expensive. I took a train ride that cost $120. and it was not worth the cost. Ship Quality

  Alaskan Journey for eight by
Peter J from Utah Sailing date: Aug 2012Pros: Cruise into the fjord and the meals & service Cons: norovirus The norovirus I suspect is more common than advertised. An ample supply of immodiam Ad or its generic equivilant should be maintained. The virus took a great deal out of what was an otherwise excellent vacation. The staff could not have performed better. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodWine selections at the gold package level could have been better Stateroom QualityAmple space overall for a week long cruise Ship Staff Quality

Rhapsody 7 night Alaska cruise by
Howard from Seattle, WA Sailing date: Jun 2012Pros: Activities were well organized and funfun. Excellent services Cons: Swimming poold were limitted, too much shopping and diamond talks The ship is decent with 8 decks for staterooms. We went on this Alaska Cruise in July and had a nice inside stateroom with 2 bunk beds for the kids. Therere enough activities on the boat that we were only in the room for sleeping, so the room was not matter much to us. The ocean adventure center could be fun for little kids, but my 9 and 11 years old boys didnt like it. They said it was boring for them. We traveled with my friend who has a 6 years old girl and she loved it and didnt want to leave the place. Therere only one outside pool and one small inside pool on deck 9. My kids love swimming, so swimming pool is always priority on my list when I travel. I was a little disappointed at the swimming pools on this boat because the kids were limited to the swimming. It was cold for the outside pool when the boat was at sea or even at dock in Alaska. The inside pool has limited hours for kids (12-2 pm and 4-8 pm). My kids tried both outside and inside pools anyways, but I think they could do better with the swimming pools, especially for Alaska Cruise. I have to give a thumb up for the cruise director, Anna, as all the activities on the boat were fun and well organized/timing. The service staffs are friendly and very nice. Over all, I would give it a 4/5 stars. Ship Quality

My first cruise & definitely coming back by
Suzanne from Seattle, WA Sailing date: Sep 2011Pros: Food, cleanliness, spa Cons: Couldn't use pool because too small and crowded I went on this cruise for the first time, with my mom. We loved the food (sushi, Indian, breakfast, soups, dessert were all good). The nightly entertainment was wonderful, with musical shows featuring Billy Joel music, good singers, and laser shows. The dessert festival one day had lots of fruits and chocolates carved out. Loved the daily excursions - taking the railroad across Alaskan mountains was amazing. One down side (and this is probably true of most ships) is that day-time entertainment when you are on the ship is not that great. We were bored when we weren't using the spa, or when I wasn't playing ping pong with the other guests. Ship QualityBeautiful, luxurious layout. Felt like we were on the Titanic (in a good way). Dining/FoodBuffet food was great! Stateroom QualityWe had inside room, which was very small, as expected. Ship Staff Quality

  Awesome time! by
Chris L. from MA Sailing date: Sep 2011Pros: Cleanliness, politeness of the crew, fantastic food Cons: Short time in ports Really nice ship with plenty of room for everyone, for a long trip, a bigger boat with more amenities would be my choice next time like the Oasis or the Allure if they ever get to the Pacific. Extremely clean ship with a great blended crew, all polite and courteous Ship Quality
Dining/Food
Stateroom QualityNext time I will book a larger room. Inside stateroom for this trip was adequate but that was my choice, not any fault of the cruise. Good for what it is but can get clumsy for larger people. Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & ActivitiesSeemed limited to singing and dance mostly. Like the other acts better for variety.

Honolulu, OahuVery urban, bustling city.
Hilo, HawaiiRained when we were there so it limited the activities we did. Seemed a bit run down and more industrial than tourist.
Kailua-Kona, HawaiiClean and dry, beautiful town, lots to see and do
Don't Miss: 2 hour helicopter tour of the volcanoes and waterfalls Lahaina, MauiVery tourist oriented, lots to see and do, lots of shops and restaurant/bars, city bus available to get around on, beaches are clean and open to the public
Don't Miss: Bus ride/tour of Haleakala. Breathtaking once you're in the crater Nawiliwili, Kauaionly went to the beach to relax and surf
Don't Miss: surfing in the protected harbor. Great for beginners. 3 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

  Awesome Cruise by
Jeff B from Battle Creek, NE Sailing date: Jun 2011Pros: Shows and meals Cons: Cost of off ship tours Overall the ship was awesome as was her crew and captain. I do think that the ship needs some updating as some of the paint etc were beginning to show their ware and tear. The water pressure in the cabin could have been better but other than that, I really have nothing bad to say. I would highly recommend this ship and cruise line to anyone. . Ship Quality
Dining/FoodOur waiter was awesome! The waiters on the Windjammer deck could have been a little more attentive. It seemed that as the cruise went on they were less attentive. Stateroom Quality

A little better than average. by
A Traveler from Aptos, Ca. Sailing date: Jun 2011Pros: Good shows, great excursion to the overland dog sled camp Cons: head waiter that lacked social skills; interupted and rushed us at dinner I was impressed with how clean the ship was. A great effort was spent trying to avoid the passing of germs.
The shows were varied and very entertaining. Bar areas were clean and the service was excellent.
The dining room food was great at first and had deteriorated by the last night of seating. Many of us not did finish our entree. Food was cold and dry.
The midnight chocolate buffet was impressive.
We met a lady who was traveling alone. She was seated by herself in the dining room. This is not O.K. Ship QualityThe decor of the stateroom could have been upgraded. Upholstery is soiled. Our room steward was pleasent and effecient. Dining/Food
Stateroom QualityVery quiet area. Loved the big window. Ship Staff QualityThe Croatian lady who was in charge of the second seating in the dining room was extremely friendly and helpful. Our second seating waiter was very annoying. He lacked social skills. His helper, a sweet girl from China, was helpful and charming. Entertainment & ActivitiesHorse racing area is not comfortable. Not enough seating.
Very clear scheduling of activities.

Skagway, AlaskaRed Dog Saloon was a hoot! Lots of fun.
WE HAD A WONDERFUL OVERLAND TRIP TO THE DOG TRAINING CAMP. SAW LOTS OF BEAR. Our guide JC was the greatest! Interesting museum of local animals at the site. Loved playing with the dogs and puppies.
Don't Miss: The overland dog training camp. Victoria, British ColumbiaLiked the Queen Victoria Hotel. Excellent service and lots of ambiance. The Museum of Natural History was interesting and Minature World was good.
Don't Miss: The Queen Victoria Hotel. ( Bengal Bar) 3 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

  Great family cruise by
A Traveler from Milwaukee, WI Sailing date: Jun 2010Pros: Kids club Cons: Late dining time We took this cruise with our extended family. Together we had 2 grandparents, 4 parents and 7 kids ages 10 - 5. We all had a great time. It was perfect for us, not much night life my husband and brother in law report, but that was fine with us. The kids all loved kids club. It was a nice small group of kids so they all made some really nice friends and the staff was so energetic and fun that the kids all had a ball! They would have been happy to stay in kids club the whole cruise! Happy kids = happy parents, so we all had fun! The rock climbing wall was a big hit as well! We were stuck with the late dining, so had several meltdowns with the little kids, but the staff went out of their way to try to make them happy, even making paper animals out of the kids placemats and cutting the kids meat for us! A couple nights we fed the kids early, and put them in kids club so we could have a relaxing adult dinner. That worked out great! Ship Quality
Dining/FoodThe main dining room was very good. The Windjammer Cafe was not bad, but harder to navigate with the buffet and got quite crowded at times and hard to find seating. The staff was helpful though when they saw us struggling with the kids, they got our drinks and even helped us find a table. The kids loved the bacon for breakfast. Soda is not included, but we didn't miss it since there was coffee, tea, iced tea, lemonade, and fruit punch for the kids, and juice and milk for breakfast. The kids loved the self serve ice cream station, but it was empty quite a bit. Stateroom QualityWe had a family oceanview stateroom. It slept 6 great. The bunk beds were in their own seperate cubby with a curtain so we even sent the boys to "their room". The girls had the fold out couch and a curtain seperated our bed from theirs. Two closets and plenty of storage drawers. It worked out great and was perfect for us!
Another family in our party had the large oceanview stateroom for 4 and they were quite cramped. Ship Staff QualityAll were wonderful with the kids! Entertainment & ActivitiesWent to two shows. One was great, one was OK. Children's ProgramsStaff were all fun, friendly, and very energetic. Kids loved it! Fairly small group of kids made it perfect for the kids, they all made friends and staff got to know all of them very well. Kids would have stayed there the whole time if they could have.

Juneau, AlaskaWe went on the whale watching and salmon bake trip. We loved it! The salmon lunch was delicious and the kids enjoyed walking along the beach, picking up shells and spotting star fish. The boat trip was fun and we saw several whales and seals!
Don't Miss: The Mount Roberts Tram was great! Skagway, AlaskaTook the 3 1/2 hour train ride. Very scenic, kids enjoyed it too.
Victoria, British ColumbiaWe took the hop on hop off bus with the kids. Rode the loop once, then took it to China Town and walked back. Fisherman's Wharf was a hit with the kids. They got to feed a seal! Then we put the kids back in kids club on the ship and went back to check out the pubs for a little adult time.

  Greatest Trip Ever by
Lois M. from Culloden, WV Sailing date: Jul 2009Pros: Friendliness of the ship's employees Cons: Not enough smoking areas The ship was clean. The employees were so very nice and friendly. They knew your name and spoke each time they saw you. They were all very helpful. The food, it was great. The bathroom was a little confined but it all worked out wonderfully. Ship QualityEverything seemed clean, on all parts of the ship. The pool area and the clubs were kept above standard clean. Dining/FoodThere were so many choices and the time periods for eating was well established. I loved it all. Stateroom QualityThere were 3 of us in a room. A little cramped. The bathroom was very small. But still was nothing to get down about. Ship Staff QualityEvery employee we encountered was courteous, friendly, smiling, helpful, and they all went above and beyond what was necessary. The employees were the BEST EVER!!! Entertainment & ActivitiesThere was a good variety of entertainment on the ship. People had a lot to choose from and there was really---never a dull moment. Children's ProgramsDid not have children...unfamiliar with their activities. 11 out of 12 people found this review helpful.

  Very nice ship by
Conae R. from Southern California Sailing date: May 2009Pros: The staff was very friendly & helpful, lots of activities Cons: We were stuck with second seating for dinner (8:30pm) and ate in the buffet every night because we never eat that late. This was our first cruise and we really weren't sure what to expect. The staff of the ship were very friendly and the surroundings very tastefully done. Our room had plenty of storage and was very comfortable. The only drawback to our trip was that we were stuck with 2nd seating for dinner which is too late for us. You are allowed to do "Anytime dining" which prepays your gratiuities in advance and allows you to use which ever seating you like, but it was so crowded we saw people from the 1st seating eating at the buffet because the line was so long. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodWe ate in the buffet every night which was an average buffet. I'm sure the restaurant food was better, but we never sampled it. Stateroom Quality

Juneau, AlaskaMendenhall Glacer is outstanding. Robert's Tramway at $27.00 per person was kind of a waste unless you want to hike the trails
Don't Miss: Mendenhall Glacier Skagway, AlaskaWe took a shuttle into the Yukon to see the summit of White Pass, a sled dog camp and Emerald Lake and it was OUTSTANDING. Downtown is quaint and several of the shops are surpisingly affordable.
Don't Miss: Yukon Victoria, British ColumbiaWe toured the Parliment House which has a lot of interesting architecture, Beacon Hill Park which has a lot of hidden ponds and scenic spots. Carradoch Castle is fascinating as well. We didn't do Buchart Gardens because $53.00 pp to see gardens when Beacon Hill Park is free seemed just ridiculous
Don't Miss: The Royal Museum 9 out of 10 people found this review helpful.
