Relaxing & Informative! by
Sondra B. from Fredonia, AZ Sailing date: Aug 2012Pros: the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff Cons: feeling a little like herded cattle - although I suppose it's to be expected with so many guests in one place :) The Radiance of the Seas was beautiful! It had nearly every accomodation you could ask for & everything was within a short walking distance (even if you took the stairs instead of one of the 7 elevators). The staff was warm & welcoming - everything was planned & prepared like magic! A wonderful, relaxing experience. We look forward to going on another cruise! Ship QualityArtwork was everywhere: stairways, hallways, staterooms, dining rooms, everywhere! There was even an art auciton. Dining/FoodThere was food available somewhere on the ship during all waking hours (& hours when most guests were sleeping). Lots of variety to choose from! Stateroom QualityEverything we needed. a great vacation by
A Traveler from Boston.MA Sailing date: Apr 2011Pros: relaxing on board the ship Cons: confusion at my time seating The cruise was very pleasant. We enjoyed being waited on "hand and foot" by the staff. The pool was small but we loved the quiet getaway to the adult solarium with the jungle theme. The dinners were very good along with the wait staff. The my time dining was a bit chaotic and even with reservations we had to wait. Our cabin steward worked very hard to keep up with our busy schedule. Exitiing the ship was a nightmare but I am sure the problems we had are not the norm. Ship Quality

A Fabulous Midsize Ocean Liner by
Tony G from Tampa Fla Sailing date: Apr 2011Pros: Everything Cons: Nothing - this was a perfect experience What a fantastic - beautifully maintained ship. The rooms are nicely done and offer a great deal of storage. The ship employees are among the best of any line I have traveled with. Super clean vessel with lots and lots to offer. Ship QualityOne of the best designed midsize ships - Even at SOLD OUT of about 2500 passengers - this ship never appeared to be crowed. Lots of fun spaces and just as many quiet spaces. Dining/FoodGreat choices and many choices. Also the fact that you could have your dinner from the dining room served in your stateroom was a great plus. Stateroom QualityCozy yet flawless. The storage is amazing. Ship Staff QualityThe best ever. Entertainment & ActivitiesVery nice, and many options.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), MexicoGreat sleepy village like place - with a great cruise port activity center - complete with dolphin swim choices. Not over run and ruined by two much commercial marketing. Very relaxing.
Don't Miss: Bike ride to the Broadwalk and Nationale Beach Club. Cozumel, MexicoGreat port with lots of choices and very friendly people.
Don't Miss: Mayan Ruins and for fun Carlos and Charley's 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

  Radiance Cruise by
Douglas E from Racine, Wisconsin Sailing date: Mar 2011Pros: The excellent service and friendly mood. Sometimes you don't have both on vacation. Cons: People smoking on balcony next to you. We don't smoke. The coffee was not the best. There was one mix-up. I'm not certain if it happened through Orbitz or through Royal Carribbean. My wife and I were travelling with another couple in the stateroom next to us. I booked the cruise for both of us and made it clear to the booking agent that we were travelling together. We were not seated at the same table for dinner and our departure groups and time were different. We of course had this corrected in both cases and the staff was very accomodating, but this should not have happened when I stated we were traveling together.
This was the first cruise for my wife and I. It was a wonderful first cruise experience. We really were not sure what to expect. The service and friendly atmosphere that the staff at Royal Carribbean gave to my wife and I was outstanding. When we look for a cruise in the future we will look to Royal Carribbean first before looking at other cruise lines. Ship QualityI cannot imagine any of this being any better. Dining/FoodOutstanding. I miss our waiter already. Stateroom QualityPerfect again! Ship Staff QualityThe entertainmet staff was superior!
It felt like this was their one and only cruise this year and they were enjoying it as much as we were. I didn't inquire how long they had been on the ship but it is amazing to us how friendly almost everyone was on the ship. Entertainment & ActivitiesWith the exception of the adult comedian show (which did not require the f-word in every other sentence) the other shows were great. The comedian show was much funnier earlier in the week when it was for all ages. People laughed more and did not walk out. It took away a little bit of the perfect experience that we had. Children's ProgramsThe pirate skit that the liitle kids did at the beginning of one of the shows was very cute. Although we were not travelling with our kids (18 & 21) my wife and I enjoyed watching how much fun the other kids were having on the ship. Great job.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), MexicoFirst time zip lining. Very warm day. Rough road to the site. Poverty everywhere. Not an up-lifting experience. The ziplining experience was great. Very careful and friendly staff. We may recommend this trip with some slight reservations.
Don't Miss: Bio Maya (Ziplining) Cozumel, MexicoWe toured the Amazing Secret River which is a cave tour that involves wading and swimming through portions of the cave which are 12 feet deep. All other cave tours will pale in comparison to this tour. We will never forget this experience. The ferry boat ride was horrible. A couple dozen people vomitted around us. We think the shot of anice liquor after our cave tour kept us from getting sick.

  great time by
CJ S. from St Pete, FL Sailing date: Mar 2011Pros: everything was great Cons: were only able to stay in mexico for 8 hours the ship was very nice. i have been on the royal caribbean ships in the past, they are always so clean, the staff is so kind, accommodating and wonderful. we have already booked another cruise for september with RC but to the Bahamas this time. Ship Quality
Dining/Foodthe food was excellent. have to spend the next week eating nothing but salads and jogging an hour plus a day to help drop the pounds i gained from the constant eating and drinking!! Stateroom Qualitythe room was only used to sleep, shower, and change in, but it was wonderful. we had a queen sized bed, a couch, the full bathroom...it was a wonderful room, and was always made up beautifully by the staff when we would leave and then return Ship Staff Quality

Cozumel, Mexicoit was a great time. we went ATV'ing thru the jungle for an hour and a half, and after that we went to a beautiful and exclusive beach. the excursion could have been longer though, as well as the ship staying in port, but aside from it, we had a great time out in the jungle on the ATVs and laying out on the white sands of a beautiful beach

Reluctant to cruise RC again by
Tom J. from Tennessee+ Sailing date: Jan 2011Seven hour delay in boarding was quite stressful.
We often had to clean our own table when dining in the buffet.
This was our seventh cruise, our first with RC, and were surprised to find a service

Cozumel, MexicoI was only there one day but even though the weather did not cooperate, we manged to still enjoy the beach. The shopping was Ok, not great. The agressiveness of the shop clerks gets to be annoying after awhile and turns you away from wanting to shop.

  Very Disappointing by
Robbin S from Orlando FL Sailing date: Jan 2011Cons: the entertainment, lacked pizazz, props, finale and had no story, boring The staff were not very attentive, seems like they didn't care if you were happy or having a good time. The entertainment as mentioned was unimpressive to say the least. The food in the Windjammer Cafe was fair, not enough selections. The main dining area was good but again staff adequate and the food could have been better choices. We did enjoy a dinner in the Chops Steakhouse where they were delighted to see us and the food and service was superb! Ship Quality

sim a from NE Sailing date: Oct 2010Pros: the atmosphere, people, and the sea Cons: none Very good time, plenty of activities - only the shopping activity was a sales pitch- the crew and other passengers were very friendly and a joy to be around.
We sat at late dining with another couple and i would recommend as it provided an opportunity to visit and share information about happenings. Thanks to Bill and Carol for being great tablemates! Ship QualityNicer than many hotels Dining/FoodVery good variety and outstanding service Stateroom QualityNice, just needed more ice in the room, otherwise fantastic! Ship Staff Quality
