  Greeeeaaaatttt Cruise. by
Karen I from St. Petersburg, FL Sailing date: Nov 2011Pros: Everything!!! Cons: The music on the pool deck in the evening TOOOOO LOUD, couldn't even talk to the person next to me without shouting. There were only about 20 peopleon deck, all of whom were 40 or older and the music was geared for teens and 20 somethings. We left the deck because of the music. This was our second cruise on the Monarch of the Sea and loved it both time. This is an older, smaller ship which is what we like. The ship is kept very clean and although other ships my have more glitz and glammer we prefer the smaller ships. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodWe have cruised with friends and we all agree that the food is the best we have ever had. The dining room food was excellent as usual and the buffett is better than any other cruise line. Presentation is wonderful and attention to each guest was outstanding. Stateroom QualityThe stateroom size is very small but for the age of the ship this is acceptable. Our room was an outside room with a window. Although you have to get on the bed to see out it is better than not having a window. The beds are comfortable and the room was clean. Ship Staff QualityEveryone on the staff was friendly and helpful. The bar manager went out of her way on Co Co Cay to find a glass of wine for my friend and me. She summond a golf cart to take us to the bar that had it and the attendant went out of his was to find the wine and give us a choice. Entertainment & ActivitiesWe enjoyed the shows and all of the entertainment on the pool deck. We did wish that the karaoke would have accomodated us to change the pitch on the songs. It's difficult to sing a song without lowering or raising the pitch to accomodate ones voice. Otherwise we loved everything.

Cococay (Cruiseline Private Island)We loved Cococay. It has only improved since we were there last year. Love the beach and all of the activities. We liked this better than Nassau.
Don't Miss: Everything. Nassau, BahamasThe casinos are a waste as is the main strip of shops. They are the same as every other island in the Behamas. We like to go to the non commercial areas. We also like the resort areas. This trip we took a horse and carrage ride which was nice. Our favorate thing is Senior Frogs. It's always a good time there. Good thing it is so close to the ship.
Don't Miss: Senior Frogs. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

  Superior Service! by
Damon F. from Jacksonville, FL Sailing date: Jun 2011Pros: Everyone was friendly from the terminal staff to all the ship's personnel. Cons: Room was a bit 'cozy' but honestly we only needed it for sleep and to shower. I'd only ever cruised once before years ago on a small ship for 2 nights, so this was a HUGE improvement with stuff going on pretty much all day. Supposedly this ship is older but they've kept it up in amazing shape and everything was clean and impressive. The biggest thing that my wife and I noticed from the moment we walked in to the terminal was how everyone was SO FRIENDLY! Why can't TSA in the airports have such great attitudes?
We did 4 nights with stops at Coco Cay and Nassau. Coco Cay was great because it was like getting a free excursion where your seapass card worked like it did on the ship. Only thing to note was the straw market prices were higher than in Nassau. Other than that we had easy snorkeling right off the shore, lots of beach so it wasn't crowded, and you get fed like you would on the ship.
Nassau was a little crazy and we're glad we took a tour instead of getting scooters. Driving was a harrowing experience so being on a scooter would've scared me silly. Senior Frog's was the highlight with a fresh Conch salad prepared tableside RIGHT OUT OF THE SHELL! You can't get any fresher than that!
The shows were great on the ship and the Activities Staff were so much fun! The service from top to bottom was the best I'd ever experienced anywhere! Would travel Royal Caribbean again in a heart beat. Ship Quality

  Fabulous Cruise by
Molly G from Buffalo, NY Sailing date: Apr 2011Pros: BAsically everything Cons: the pool and hot tub were small and the pool was salt water The Royal Carribean Monarch of the Sea is the smallest and the oldest in the RC fleat. However, the service could not have been better in anyway. The staff was wonderful and the food was better than I could have ever imagined. This was my first cruise, but I hope it will not be the last. I would travel on this cruise line and this ship again for sure! Ship Quality
Stateroom Qualitysmall but adequate Ship Staff Qualityfriendly, helpful, always above and beyond! Entertainment & ActivitiesExcellent for a small ship

  AWESOME CRUISE by
gail from Massachusetts Sailing date: Feb 2011Pros: Staff was so attentive, polite and upbeat! Food was great. Cons: Smaller older ship but that was OK. This was my first cruise and I really enjoyed. We decided not to go to the more formal dining and did the Windjammer buffet for dinner. The food was excellent, and wonderful selection and variety.
Everything was very clean. Coco Cay is just lovely had a great time there too. Ship QualityI thought it was fine, but I have never been on a larger ship. Dining/Food

  Spectacular Cruise! by
A Traveler from Detroit, MI Sailing date: Feb 2011Pros: a lot of food options, delicious food, exciting shows, friendly crew members Cons: very small shower space, older ship decor Our cruise on the Monarch of the Seas was amazing! All of the details were planned carefully and there was always something fun to do. Our cruise was fully booked, but it was never overcrowded. There were many options of activities throughout the days. Ship QualityThe ship was clean, but the decor was a little outdated. Dining/FoodSpectacular! Not one bad meal on the ship! Stateroom Quality
