I would never travel with them again by
A Traveler from Orlando FL Sailing date: Aug 2012Pros: The staff inside the ship Cons: Company procedures The staff inside the ship are great but the company needs to review its pollicy. A hurricane was on the way of our itinerary. They didn't let us cancel our cruise or transfer to another day. We went, stayed inside tge ship the whole trip and stayed 12 hours stuck near the port of Miami waiting for it to re-open. It was a mess to let the guests put of the ship. We had olderly people that started to fell sick while in the mess to get out of the ship. Never gonna use this company again! Ship QualityInside the ship it was great. Dining/Food

  disappointing cruise by
A Traveler from Los Angeles Sailing date: Jun 2012Pros: departure port Cons: room and food The selection of rooms is misleading compared to other cruiselines. When faced with a choice for a room with a window, the selections should display the portholes rather than the picture windows displayed. My father didn't sleep the entire cruise. We were placed right above the ship's engine which was extremely noisy. These rooms should be eliminated.
The food selection was poor and often cold. My eggs were cold every morning. Ship Quality

other cruise lines are better by
wendy from miami Sailing date: Apr 2011Pros: not much Cons: ship was plain, service was bad I have been on MSC, Starclipper, etc. and felt this cruiseline was inferior by far. We felt like we were in a factory being processed like products. The cell phone charge was $7.95 per minute-much higher than other lines! I saw the Steward one time and the Guest Relations staff was almost rude and not very helpful. We expected to be treated better. The ship was not glamorous at all. The suite room was very plain and small-not worth the extra money. I will not go on this line again. The only pros were that the music was decent, room service ok and the spa staff was good. Try any other line. Ship QualityVery plain-needs some gamour. Dining/Foodaverage-deserts were ok Stateroom Qualityugly and small Ship Staff QualityCouldn't even find staff when needed. Never received our wake calls! Entertainment & Activitiesmusic was decent

Do not bring young children! by
Nicole B from Dallas, TX Sailing date: Nov 2010Cons: Royal babies is NOT a childcare program (it's mommy and me classes) AND Royal Carribean doesnt let babies still in diapers into the pools. We were told that this cruise offered childcare starting at 6 months. This isnt the case. Royal babies isnt childcare...since a parent needs to be in attendance. Additionally, they dont allow babies (or any child not potty trained) to use the pool. Dining rooms arent very kid friendly. Ship Quality

Not as great as expected! by
Tiffany S from Wooster, Oh Sailing date: Dec 2008Pros: The one thing that I did like about this cruise was Cococay! It was so relaxing. Cons: I didn't like most of it actually, it was more expensive than expected, it was pretty generic once getting onboard, and the people that work onboard were very forceful on buying things sold onboard such as drinks, alcohol, ect.. The ship looked fabulous outside when arriving at the port. It was even great when getting onboard, but once getting in the room, it was small, cramped, and at times certain floors smelled like crap to be blunt.
The meals were medeocre and cold nearly everytime, the only drinks that the ship gave to you for no charge was water, coffee, lemonaid, and coffee.Just keep that in mind, they wanted us to pay $21 each for a pop package once getting onboard. i think these are things that they should have shared before getting onboard.
Overall the best time we had was on cococay, the hammocks were relaxing, the water was beautiful, the $20 sun screen wasn't so great so make sure you pack that. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodCold food, generic choices Stateroom Qualitysmall cramped room, clear on other side of boat. Ship Staff QualityStaff were friendly but to forceful when trying to sell drinks Entertainment & ActivitiesThe funniest thing was the one comedian but it was so short and the rest of the nights were reserved for married couples which was pretty biased.

  A waste of money by
Rick D from Boca Raton Fl Sailing date: Jan 2012Pros: Food Cons: Unorginized It was just a weekend getaway so our expectations weren't that high to begin with. Most things were just ok and nothing really stood out. But there were enough annoying little things that I would not recommend this cruise ship. Examples....there were no balcony rooms, only junior suites and since my wife is a smoker we had to spring for the suite which would have been categorized as a balcony room on other ships. The first night the sheets had a noticeable oder. Our steward changed the sheet after she argued that they were clean and had been changed that morning. Try a little fabreze! But the biggest complaint was that we made the mistake of buying a wine package before we left. After getting on board and going for lunch we tried to get a bottle of our already purchased wine and were told, sorry, you will get it with dinner!
Dinner happened to be 8 hours away! After an hour of talking with various people in various jobs and various seniority they found a bottle just as the buffet was closing.
So got to drink the wine with something they passed off as hotdogs by the pool. You can't eat so you might as well drink. Got a second bottle from the only person who knew what to do, the assistant in the buffet! So now at dinner they are thoroughly confused. What package did you have? How many bottles in the package? How many have you signed for? Why sell advanced packages if you can't get the wine and the people on board don't have a clue as the paperwork hasn't been processed yet? After relating all this to guest services, we were offered a bottle of complimentary wine.
On the last day, we go to guest relations to get a copy of our bill. Of course there is another charge for an additional wine package! Oh yes, I see where you paid in advance , so sorry , we well fix it right now. As it turned out it took 2 hours and another bottle of complimentary wine. Now today their charges were posted to my credit card. It was in the same amount as a wine package! The next task is to try and get this fixed. So all and all, we should have stayed home to relax, Ship Quality
Dining/FoodThe best part of the cruise Stateroom QualityA balcony room sold as a junior suite Ship Staff QualitySure they were friendly and tried to help but I did hear one waiter mutter something under his breath in his native language about another passenger and another waiter laughing about what he said. Entertainment & ActivitiesIt was only a 3 night cruise and not too much was expected, but the one show that featured a comedian (who actually was funny) was cut short so everybody could go and play some game. 2 out of 6 people found this review helpful.

A Traveler from Orlando, FL Sailing date: May 2011Pros: no days at sea Cons: the ship it self....old not in the best of shape, smelled this is truly a economy cruise. The ship was small, not in the best of shape, smelled throughout, and the food was very disappointing. However this particular sailing did have the best crusie director of any ship I have sailed on. Disapointed! by
Anthony S from NY Sailing date: Feb 2011Pros: The service was great. Cons: The food horrible!!! The ship was clean but out dated. Ship QualityThe ship itself was always clean and well maintained just outdated and the decor was lacking. Dining/FoodThe food was horrible. I have had better food at a 10 dollar buffet. This was my major area of concern I didnt go on a cruize to eat pizza and tacos. The food areas were not open at all times. There was parts of the day when you could not recieve food other then room service which was nothing more then chicken fingers or other bar food. I was completely disapointed in the food selection, quality and availability. There was not one steak or piece of sea food to be had on this ship other then the sit down dinners and that was sub par. Stateroom QualityThe staterooms were obviously outdated but well maintained. Ship Staff QualityThey were friendly and helpful but rather annoying constantly asking to take pictures. Entertainment & ActivitiesThere was nothing of value to entertain you on the ship. The casino's game variety was limited and the one poker table that was available was used several times a night for tournaments. The rake on the poker table was astronomical at 10% up to 15 dollars thats more then twice the average casinos rake and a clear rip off.
I was so bored I attempted to play bingo on the first night. After 45 minutes of setting up for bingo it consisted of one single bingo game. I sat and looked around the room and counted over 150 people playing bingo at an average of 15 dollars a person that equals 2250 dollars in revenue and the pay out for one game was 300 dollars. Thats less then a 20 percent pay out for the money collected. This was like every other activity on the ship a clear rip off and nothing more then a money making venture for the company.

Cococay (Cruiseline Private Island)This was the best part of the trip the island was clean and well organized. The only thing lacking was food there was a bbq between 12-2 but we were on an excursion and missed it and subsequently were starving by time we went back to the ship. This island was beautiful but the lack of available food once again was disapointing.
Don't Miss: Jet skiing was well worth it. Key West, FloridaKey West was clean and a nice place to visit I only wish we had more time in this port.
Nassau, BahamasNassau itself was dirty and run down. My girlfriend did not feel safe shopping by herself and we could not find our way to access the beach. It was a major disappointment. This also included atlantis which looks beautiful but you coud not access anything except the casino without paying for a tour.

  Worst Vacation Ever! by
Joshua U from Sarasota, Florida Sailing date: Sep 2009Pros: Entertainment, Food and Ports of Call. Cons: Guest Relations Staff. I will start off by saying that when you enter the ship it is very impressive. It appears to have many ammenities and activities for the guests. Our first two days were fun, we walked around Nassau and Coco Cay, had fun layed on the beaches and drank a ton of alcohol. The night of Day 3 is when everything went bad, I ate bad banana and felt sick immediately, I was going to go to walgreens to get some immoduim, but thought it was more convienant to go see the ship Doctor, he then decided that I needed to be isolated. I accepted this as my fate and asked for them to make me as comfortable as possible (since i knew i wasn't sick and just had some minor food poisoning, 2 immodiums and i was fine). To make it easier to understand the rest of my trip im going to bullet the timeline:
9:00 Dr's visit
9:30 Isolated
9:35 DVD Player and movies requested and promised
12:00 Lunch Ordered
1:00 Lunch Delivered (2 Burgers, French Fires, Onion Rings & 18 Beers)
5:00 DVD Player Finally Delivered
5:15 Movies Delivered 3 movies, "The Big Slice, Saving Shiloh and Heros Episode 1
5:15 Requested more movies maybe something I would like to watch.
8:00 3 More Movies Delivered, Again movies that were 20 years old Finally was more specific asked for something I would like to watch, any movie made in 2008 or 2009
8:00 ordered dinner, requested food from our seated dinner
9:00 dinner delivered with two drinks of the day
9:05 requested more drinks - was told that the dr. had ordered that no more drinks be rent to my room (keep in mind the dr. who diagnosed me in all of 5 minutes felt that he had the right to tell me what i could or could not eat or drink in my room - WHAT????).
This denial of drinks also affected Claire who had been isolated as a precaution (maybe she also was sick NOPE, I wasn't even sick. Did I mention that the whole cruise Claire and I had been drinking 10 to 15 Vodkas, Beers and Mixed Drinks [EACH] a day (not bragging and not proud, but the whol reason we went on a cruise was to have fun and not have to worry about where we were.).
Currently there are no rights that I know of for cruise passengers, but I am in the process of writing a complaint to my congressman, senator, state representative and any other outlets that appear to have the ability to raise this issue to the level necessary to bring it to a good resolution for everyone that has their rights violated by the crew of a cruise ship. This is for everyone [including myself] that has been verbally or mentally abused by the staff on a cruise ship. Additionally, I strongly reccomend that you never visit the Dr.on a cruise ship. Ship Quality
