Too many Children by
Rich P from Pennsylvania Sailing date: Dec 2012Pros: Wonderful crew Cons: children all over the ship UNattended I had just started to write a summation of what should have been a very nice cruise to the Caribbean.. When I went ahead and read some of the not so nice reports written by cruises with Young children. Hmmm, you must have been on my ship not enough activities for YOUR children.. Maybe yours were the ones that ran through the ship screaming, and got on the elevators and pushed all the buttons and then jumped off.. Maybe yours were the ones that were up in the windjammer unsupervised taking more food than three people could eat and then just leaving it. Or just maybe yours was the THREE year old out on the dance floor in everyones way at 2 AM there ARE Cruise lines that cater to YOUNG children, Royal Caribbean does it s best to and has many activities for children, BUT if you want on one of their ships with Your Young children please take advantage of the ships activities and treat them like CHILDREN not little adults or maybe just leave then HOME !!! We really dont like YOUR children on OUR cruise. Ship QualityGreat Ship Re-done Looks Great !! Dining/FoodGreat Food.. top rate chef's Stateroom QualityThere are hairdryers in the dreawer Ship Staff QualityVERY friendly Entertainment & ActivitiesGreat Shows Top Rate Children's ProgramsKEEP THEM HOME 7 out of 9 people found this review helpful.

Fun but not really relaxing family time by
Melissa from United States Sailing date: Dec 2011Pros: Crew hospitality was superb! Cons: Be ready to spend, spend, spend! Loved our cabin, on board entertainment, staff esp. cabin/stateroom crew. Would have liked more relaxation time with my husband but that was hard with a 3 and 8 year old. Found some of the "hidden" costs, for instance kids had pop package and assumed that included pop in the stateroom-it did not!-VERY EXPENSIVE! Staying connected on board was extremely expensive-Recommend buying international package from Verizon. Spa Hot Stone Massage was fabulous by Jenn, she's Irish. Highly recommend. Excursions were alright, but docking times severly cut into sun and fun time esp. during winter months when sun goes down early. Ship QualityFood was great, drinks were strong and not too unreasonably priced! BEWARE of stateroom beverages! They cost a fortune and ARE NOT FREE! Dining/FoodFood was great. Didnt realize till the last day that I could eat more than one offering at the formal dinners though! Take advantage of this during lobster formal night! The lobster was some of the best Ive ever had! Stateroom QualityKids loved the drop down bunks, and towel animals. I loved the bed and linens but hurt my husband's bad back. Ship Staff QualityOur stateroom attend, IVAN, was fabulous as were the other two stateroom attendants in the corridor, Lamar, and Pardeem. Our Head Waiter, Sherry was genuinely kind and accommodating. Front desk was very helpful. No complaints about anyone associated with Royal Caribbean's employees the went above and beyond. Entertainment & ActivitiesThere were a ton of activities to participate in and they were all optional. Cruise director and his assistant were funny and we loved the on board television show they did. we also liked the pictures they took all the time and should have taken more advantage of those opportunities. Children's ProgramsMy older son, 8 yrs old, loved the activities and had a great time. My only complaint was that they would not take my younger son, who just turned 3 yrs, and was not fully potty trained for activities without either myself or husband. This really added to this not being a very relaxing vacation for him and I. If there had been some program that could take him, even for 1-2 hrs, that would provided us with some down time. It would have made the vacation a total success. Babysitting was available but it cost additional money and we found it difficult to arrange d/t availability of staff. We also had some concerns on who we would be leaving him with in our stateroom. 7 out of 9 people found this review helpful.

  Top 5 Vacations by
Brett R from Cumberland, MD Sailing date: Mar 2013Pros: Wide Variety of Activies to do Cons: Someone died on our cruise The ship is very clean on the inside and is well planned. For my first cruise it was a delight and an eye opening experience. CoCoCay is a must. In the morning you could not tell of the clear water, but by mid day you could see the picturesque views anywhere you stood. What I really enjoyed were the personalities of all the crew members, especially the cruise director. I am sure he does the same routine over and over for all the trips, but he made my stay feel like we were wanted. We are already considering our next cruise with Royal Caribbean. Dining/FoodThe food was over my expectations. Stateroom Quality

Enchanting Enchantmrnt of the Seas by
Kathy N. from Washington, DC Sailing date: Aug 2011Pros: Variety of entertainment and decor Cons: Quality of food in the main dining room This was a long over due holiday on a 5 day trip to Bermuda. My husband and I were simply looking to relax and see Bermuda for the first time. This beautiful ship has so many wonderful places to explore, and even though it was completely full, we easily found quiet spots and empty lounge chairs to enjoy. There was a wide variety of shows and entertainment and the cruise staff went out of their way to make each guest feel welcome. Food in the Windjammer was typical buffet, with choices for everyone and nice atmosphere. Food in the main dining room was average at best. Just not worth getting dressed up for. Overall, it was an excellent cruise and I would highly recommend it. Ship QualityThis is an older ship that is kept immaculate and has a lovely decor. Dining/FoodQuality, taste, presentation in main dining room was average at best. Tasteless sauces and desserts, over cooked meat and fish, small portions. HOWEVER, the Windjammer cafe had a decent variety and the service was excellent. Stateroom QualitySmall, but very clean and comfortable. Plenty of storage, great stateroom attendants - they work so hard and always had great attitude. Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & ActivitiesLoved cruise director - John Blair - and his wife Katrina. Very professional.

Top quality top value Caribbean cruise by
Richard B from Costa Rica Sailing date: Feb 2009Pros: Cabin, Personnel, Restaurants, Entertainment, Itinerary Cons: Getting to/from departure port We booked this Southern Caribbean cruise with Orbitz, and were thoroughly pleased with the quality and value of our vacation. For the price of a 'sea-view' cabin we got a 'junior suite' with an external balcony and lots of space inside - better than most hotel rooms. Ship QualityThe Royal Caribbean ship 'Enchantment of the Seas' is a magnificent floating hotel, offering comfortable accommodation and fine living/dining/relaxation areas throughout. Dining/FoodTop quality food and service in the formal dining rooms, relaxed dining and good food in the self service restaurants. Service was attentive and courteous. Stateroom QualityVery comfortable and spacious cabin with external balcony. Ship Staff QualityEveryone on the on-board staff was courteous and helpful, cheerful and responsive. Entertainment & ActivitiesNightly shows with excellent singing and dance troupes, with various musical performances as well.

  My First Cruise by
Sally L from Wilmington NC Sailing date: May 2009Pros: The Awesome RCCL - the food, the attention to detail and Belize Cons: cannot think of one single thing except that my trip was way too short.... Beautiful, plenty to do, awesome friendly staff to meet all of your needs. I am a vegetarian and my meals were extremely delicious. I just got home and I am ready to go back today... Ship QualityEverything was so great - I expected it to be wonderful but it did exceed my expectations Dining/FoodBeing a vegetarian was no issue for the restaurant staff - all of my meals were wonderful Stateroom QualityPerfect room - very clean and loved the larger room we were able to get Ship Staff Quality

Belize City, BelizeNothing was a waste of time. Loved the snorkling and the beautiful water and friendly Belizians - the greatest place that I have ever visited. Just wished we could have stayed several days in Belize
Don't Miss: snorkling around the reefs Key West, FloridaI have been to Key West several time and have always recommended this area to friends and family. Becuase I am so familiar with the area we did not participate in the excursions because we did our own thing.

  Great Time to Relax by
A Traveler from Las Vegas, NV Sailing date: May 2009Pros: A great diversified group of people and the friendliness of the crew Cons: A large ship with not nearly enough lounge chairs at the poolside The crew was exceptionally polite, the ship was immaculate and everything seemed to have run on time. I personally think that the pricing of the 'cruise' pictures taken of your passengers should of been more reasonable which in turn more people would of purchased more photos. Ship QualityThis ship was extremely clean and elegantly decorated. Dining/FoodI wasnt overly excited with the food in the dining room. It was average at best with little seasonings for taste and the presentation of the food was below average. The dining room itself was beautiful. Stateroom QualityWonderful stateroom, spacious enough for 2, and the crew made sure that it was kept nice and clean. The size was perfect and the bath area was large enough for two people unlike another cruise line that I was on, you couldnt move Ship Staff QualityAbove and Beyond is the best way to describe. OUR WAITER WAS PHENOMIINAL Entertainment & ActivitiesGreat entertainment. Would of liked more of the "Oldies', music but we adapted.
OUR CRUISE DIRECTOR WAS FABULOUS AND IT WAS SAD TO HEAR THAT HE WAS LEAVING

  First Time Cruisers by
Lynn A from Cherryville, NC Sailing date: Jul 2009Pros: The people were so nice and the entertainment was wonderful Cons: The formal dinner. When we entered the ship, I was so amazed at the way the ship was taken care of. It was beautiful. Everyone that worked for the cruiseline treated us so special. We've never been on a cruise but highly recommend everyone to go and we will definately recommend Enchantment of the Sea to everyone we know. I can't say enough about the people working for the cruiseline. They made our first time cruise a memory of a life time. Thanks again for everything and hope to see you again soon. Ship Quality

Cozumel, MexicoWe rented a car this time and didn't worry about the timing back to the ship. We decided to enjoy a day at the beach. We did go to one that parking was free. It had a bar and restaurant. We rented a jetski. That was great. Want to warn people about it, someone got into our car and luckily, we didn't have anything in it for them to take. Other than that, it was fantastic. We went back to Margaritaville and had lunch. They were very friendly. I did notice the people that lived there seemed to aproach us at every store to try to get you to purchase things. I found that irritating. Just learn to keep walking.
George Town, Grand CaymanWe rented a jeep but now wish we had went on an excursion with the ship because they charged alot for the jeep. We were so worried about getting back to the ship on time that we couldn't enjoy alot of the island. We will go on the excursion on our next voyage.
Don't Miss: Swimming with the dolphins and going to the sea turtle farm. A new adventure for my husband and myself. 5 out of 7 people found this review helpful.

  An AMAZING first cruise by
A Traveler from Philadelphia, Pa Sailing date: Nov 2011Pros: Everything! Cons: The only bad thing was the coffee! Hehe but they had a specialty coffee shop to make up for it The ship was an older one built in the 90s but renovated at some point in the 2000s. That being said, everything was beautiful. They also keep up on maintenance really well (even when we were sailing!) Ship Quality
