Great experience would do this cruise ag by
Debbie from Binghamton, NY Sailing date: Jul 2007Pros: I was really impressed with how quiet the cabins were no noise from people above you or beside you. We had children next to us and never heard a word. I would like to express our sincere appreciation for the cruise we just completed. This was our first and I can't tell you how pleased we were. We were aboard the Sun Princess cruising to Alaska. Our Captain was wonderful the entire staff aboard were very polite and helpful being it was our first cruise. Manuel in the dining room went out of his way to make sure all was well at our table. One older gentleman asked for Potatoes au gratin and the next night there they were. Your staffs in the buffet were so polite and courteous. Our stateroom made sure we were kept comfortable. Our bus driver gave us a tour and explained the history of some significant buildings and areas. We are highly recommending this cruise to Alaska to our friends and telling them they need to cruise on your ship to Alaska. The entertainment was superb. We enjoyed every minute and are looking forward to another cruise in the future. Dining/FoodWe had a gerntleman at our table who wanted aurgratin potatoes next night they were there.

Juneau, AlaskaVery crowded Juneau.
Juneau was not my favorite place. I was very surprised by the cost of the tram ride. I live in the Pacific Northwest, the tram ride here is 4.00 each way.
Don't Miss: The Mendenhall Glacier. Ketchikan, AlaskaKetchican was my favorite port. I loved the scenery and the people.
Don't Miss: Creek street. Skagway, AlaskaIncredible Skagway.
Skagway was beautiful. The people in the national park museum were a wealth of information. I thought the price of the train was a bit steep but overall the train ride is a good way to see the surrounding area.
Don't Miss: The train ride. Cruise Tracy Arm Fjord, Alaska
Tracy arm was incredibly beautiful. The blue of the icebergs was incredible.

  Enjoyable and relaxing. by
Ron from Phoenix, Arizona Sailing date: May 2007Pros: Friendly staff and clean cabins. The cruise was planned as a relaxing getaway and that it was! I would like to have had a few more activities for the days at sea. It was too cold to be outside and not enough seating area inside to sit and enjoy being outside of your cabin. Flexible dining is great for days when you're at port and off the ship, but I missed the relationship with the waiter. Food was delicious staff was very professional and ship was very clean. Woud gladly sail with Princess again. Entertainment & Activities
Entertainment: Did not feel entertainment was of the highest quality that I have seen in the past.

Juneau, AlaskaNot enough time in Juneau.
Trying to get off the ship was a nightmare. We got separated from our party, and were stranded on the stairs with 100's of other passengers for about 20 minutes. It was stuffy and uncomfortable. I was so anxious to visit Juneau and was dissappointed with the short time allowed off the ship. We only had time for one excursion and then had to return to the ship. Not even time for shopping. Was VERY dissappointed with the excursion (whale watching). We saw more marine life (for free) from the ship than we did from the boat. What we did see was very little yet very expensive. I did appreciate the warm drinks provided as it was really cold and rainy. The most entertaining part was the bus ride to the boat excursion.
Don't Miss: The glacier. Ketchikan, AlaskaKetchikan is beautiful.
I loved the beauty of the mountains and the pleasant staff. I was not able to do all I would have liked to do because of the rain and cold.
Skagway, AlaskaCatch the train at Skagway.
We arrived at Skagway not knowing what we were going to do. We asked for reccommendations and were told about the train. Great suggestion. It was beatiful country and very informative. The only suggestion would be to have the bus driver for the return trip tell a little bit about the country side. Nothing was said. Enjoyed the shopping at the stores. Quite a lot to see.
Don't Miss: Train ride or bike ride through the country. Cruise Tracy Arm Fjord, AlaskaTracy Arm is beautiful.
Unfortunately, I thought we were also going to see a glacier, so I was somewhat dissappointed. Even though, I was amazed at the beauty of Tracy Arm and the country side. I appreciated the wool blankets provided as well as the hot drinks.
Don't Miss: The countryside. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

Jeni from Columbia, MO, USA Sailing date: May 2007Pros: View from the buffet. Great service--the staff was outstanding. Entertainment & Activities
Entertainment: We heard the comedian was quite funny during his first show, however, the content of the show we saw was inappropriate--particularly given the number of younger children in the room.

Juneau, AlaskaHectic day!
Disembarkation was a problem and the reason was unknown to the passengers. The whale watch was awesome though. We were only two of seven on the boat.
Don't Miss: Whale Watch through Orca Enterprises. Ketchikan, AlaskaLocal people were great!
We had a great lunch at Annabelle's. The bartender is a local harvest fisher during the winters and he shared great stories and pictures.
Skagway, AlaskaBest port of the trip!
We had a great excursion with a hike and float. We were the only two on the trip and got to see so much. Our guide was excellent.
Don't Miss: Skagway float and hike. Cruise Tracy Arm Fjord, AlaskaBest scenery of the trip!
You have to see the fjords in order to experience them.
Don't Miss: Even if it is cold and rainy, bundle up and head to the deck. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.
