Stormy weather
by Jan P from Beaumont, CA
Sailing date:
Mar 2010
Pros:
Entertainment
Cons:
Service, Food, Weather
I don't know if the economy has affected all the shipping lines, but I was disappointed in the quality of the entire cruise. The first people to greet you are the ones selling the Coca Cola Cards...TACKY!! Never have we been offered pork belly on the dinner menu before, the steaks were not that good but the fish was very good.

Even though we paid $10.50 per day per person, it appeared that many of the services required an additional tip. If you order any kind of juice after 11:00 am, you will pay for it plus tip.
Ship Staff Quality
Our ship Stewardess was not good at all, however others in our party were very happy with their's. Luck of the draw.

Horrible service, unhappy workers and ve
by Bradley from Orlando, Florida
Sailing date:
May 2007
Pros:
The destination.
Very poor, the ship was beautiful but entire experience not good because of indifference to excellence and non-caring atttitude of the staff... even my parents who are very forgiving noticed the horrible attitude of service.
Ship Details:
Entertainment & Activities
Activities: Fitness center did not open until 7am, and it was packed not that clean. Entertainment: Very average. Comedian white white hair and dark glasses almost knocked us off the ramp on our way to the boat, renforcing the low quality of customer service and what the staff and employees think of the guest.

Defitnely recommend the zipline adventure. Zipline adventure was incredible, the staff at this excursion were awesome. The garden adventure was really pretty average and more hipe that substance.
Don't Miss:
Sipline adventure, red dog saloon.
Ketchikan, Alaska
Lumberjack show was fun. Lumberjack show was great, as with all destinations, shopping was not great, most stores were not stocked and did not have great selection of what was in stock.
Don't Miss:
Lumberjack show.
Skagway, Alaska
Stunning landscape- unbelieveable dog sledding experience. Dog sledding and helicopter tour was a must see.
Don't Miss:
Dog sledding/ helicopter flightseeing tour.
Cruise Tracy Arm Fjord, Alaska
Not a great experience, they were charing for blankets on deck. We did not get very close to the glaciers and did not see any wildlife. I would skip this destination if possible.

A good cruise
by Melba W from Imbler OR
Sailing date:
Feb 2013
Pros:
The people we met on the cruise
Cons:
Too many days at sea. The weather was not good which was not Princess cruise line's fault.
The ship was well maintained and had wonderful people working for them. We really enjoyed all employees we came into contact with.

Overall, enjoyable.
by A Traveler from Southern California
Sailing date:
Jan 2013
Pros:
Room and dining staff were very pleasant and efficient.
Cons:
Some of the entertainment was inappropriate, and some just boring. The main singers and dancers were good, as was the pianist and the country western singer.
The ship itself was not as well maintained as it could have been, and the linens should have been replaced (worn carpet, in places; elevators that didn't work; old, lumpy pillows on the beds; robes that were skimpy),

Entertainment & Activities
Although the main performers (singers and dancers) were very good, the juggler and hypnotist were boring and not entertaining. The Cruise Director's team were very inappropriate on staff entertainment night, with one female repeatedly pulling down the outer pants and even underwear of a male; a male repeatedly fondling the breasts of a female; and staff making fun of a person with cerebral palsy or Tourette's in a misguided attempt at humor.

A nice cruise
by Rhiannon A. from Honolulu, HI
Sailing date:
Jun 2012
Pros:
The many activities and availability of events and food
Cons:
The rocking of the boat and the chaos at the buffets
The ship seemed a bit small at times with the numbers of people on board. The buffets were especially crowded and chaotic as well as during disembarkment at different ports. All other aspects of the cruise were very enjoyable.

Great Cruise but HORRIBLE Food
by Phillip M from Austin, TX
Sailing date:
Jun 2012
Pros:
The Alaskan scenery was breathtaking
Cons:
The food on the ship is horrible
Service A+, Stateroom size A+ compared to NCL and Carnival, Food F but all food has been horrible on every Carnival and NCL cruise I've taken so I kinda expected it. I just thought Princess was a step up in culinary delights but boy was I wrong.

A Chilly Cruise
by Lucretia O. from Shoals, IN
Sailing date:
Mar 2012
Pros:
Finally getting to Hawaii
Cons:
The 8 days of cold in the pacific swells
If you like the time "at sea", then by all means take this ship on this cruise. Just be warned that the pacific ocean is cold. We only had two or three "warm" days at sea, and they were still chilly. For the 30-40 age range people thinking about this cruise, know this, this is a cruise geared more for 60+ age group. While we found the older crowd acceptable, they don't offer a lot of activities for the "middle age'' folks. The crew was great, very plaesant, and ready to serve. The ship itself was ok in its layout. However we found out on the second to last day that the stabilizers were broke, which made for a very rocky ride.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
It is a smaller ship,so that means fewer people, which is nice. Everything was acceptable.
Dining/Food
Somethings were excellent, and somethings were sub par. But that can be anywhere you go. for the most part it was very good.
Stateroom Quality
We opted for an interior room on this cruise...that was a mistake. The size, decor, etc. was good, but when you go to sleep it is like you have no idea what time it is. They don't provide a clock in the room, so I would recomend taking one with you. You could get a wake up call, but if you forget to set one you could very easily sleep the day away.
Ship Staff Quality
The crew was great, very friendly, very hard working, & did a fabulous job taking care of us.
Entertainment & Activities
Entertainment & activities are geared more for an older audience. We would have enjoyed "Movies under the stars" if it wasn't so cold at night.

Pros:
the cruise was perfect for a cruise. We went to great ports
Cons:
I wanted more time on the land
The ship was perfect! There could be some POSITIVE encouragement for the singles to meet. Maybe they want someone just to talk with regardless of gender. Even Alaska is a little better when shared!

A wonderful cruise.
by Joseph Herrmann from Sacramento, CA
Sailing date:
Apr 2010
Pros:
Dining and entertainment
Cons:
Dealing with the elevators and the tiny shower.
The Staff was wonderful and the food was good. We enjoyed the cafe for our lunch, especially the Quiches. It was the first time we had an inside cabin. We would have enjoyed a cabin with a view as we could never determine daylight. Hopefully, we can have better accomodations next cruise.
Ship Details:

Ship size too large, difficulty in taking an elevator.

Shower area too small - otherwise statement was very clean and comfortable in spite of being an inside cabin.

Cruising for Trouble
by Mark H. from Omaha, nebraska
Sailing date:
Jan 2010
Pros:
The staff and the food in the dining room was excellent.
Cons:
The ship has stopped using mandatory hand sanitizers at the dining areas and other places on ghe sheip. Thie caused our ship to have a round of the flu that hit a larger percentage of the passengers. Though the claim to comply with the CDC, that does not meantthat they are doing all that is possib
Staff is excellent, food in dining rooms is gexcellent. The buffet is not good nor is it sanitary. Entertainment was excellent
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Use of hand sanitizer has been reduced due. No longer forced to sanitize hands prior to using buffet. Lot of people caught the flu while traveling on the ship. Princess needs to revisit their sanitation policy as far as placement of hand sanitizers
Dining/Food
With the exception of the Buffet. The food was excellent, the hours of service was above average. A hamburger grill, piza paror, and ice cream stand is open most of the day and evening. The internet cafe has excellent soups, sandwiches, and salads. Quality of food was exceptional. However, the buffet food was sub standard, and it was a breeding ground for intestional ailments and influenza. Not much attention to customer sanitization. And an indifference at the Pursor's office about the health issues on the ship.
Stateroom Quality
Very pleased with both accomodation and service.
Ship Staff Quality
The best we have experienced. Service was exceptional, and very personalized. The staff new our names and preferences by the end of the cruise.
Entertainment & Activities
Entertainment was very good. Allways something to do, or see. Piano players in both bars, novelty acts, chefs, artists, all for your enjoyment. Movies show outside on a drive-in sized screen were excellent.
