Wonderful cruise
by Susan U from New York
Sailing date:
Sep 2009
Pros:
Efficiency of Royal Carribbean handling luggage, meals and entertainment
Cons:
photos were very expensive
Efficiency of receiving luggage upon arrival and the efficiency of debarking at the end of the cruise was excellent. The ship was beautiful and activities excellent. The dinners were great and our waitresses were wonderful. A most enjoyable trip.

The best thing I could have done
by Jane M from Cheyenne, WY
Sailing date:
Feb 2010
Pros:
The people of the staff and crew were fantastic
Cons:
Having a set time to eat at night in the restraunt
If you have a lot on your plate and need to get away and relax and have time to think this is the way to do it. I am a terminal cancer patient and this was the best medicine I have ever had.

A nice cruise of New England
by A Traveler from Dover, NH
Sailing date:
Sep 2009
Pros:
Shore excursions were great!
Cons:
Food was weak unless you paid extra for a specialty restaurant.
Good cruise. A lot of a la carte upcharges. Shore excursions were professional and a real treat. Most people were very pleasant. We were however left feeling a little short. We got a little frustrated with everyone telling us they usually do 12 day cruises making you feel lesser for not doing a longer cruise.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Very nice smooth ship. Elevators seemed to have a strange programming lack of response. Smoke areas seem to be heavy with smoke.
Dining/Food
The buffets and small cafes were institutional type food. Chops Grille was fantastic for a fee.
Stateroom Quality
Beautiful spacious suite.
Ship Staff Quality
The guest relations staff was top notch. With a few stellar exceptions, most staff lacked the level of service I would expect on a grand ship.
Entertainment & Activities
The entertainment lacked any significant headliners.

The crew was new but they all did the best they could. We were just spoiled with other ventures with an experienced crew.

Can't complain
This was a very clean ship. The decor was beautiful and top class. The shows were excellent and the staff was beyond excellent. I would cruise with them again.

The variety of food available was overwhelming at times. I'm a vegetarian and I was overwhelmed with the options available.

ship could have used a second dancing place. only the vortex bar to dance.
Dining/Food
nothing special about the food. There were no midnight buffets, and the ice cream machine was only open during the restaurant hours.
Stateroom Quality
Ship Staff Quality
Our cabin steward, Dejau was awesome. We talked to him each day and he was interested in what we were doing and if we were having a good time.

Jewel of a vacation
by A Traveler from florida
Sailing date:
Dec 2012
Pros:
smaller ship,less crowds
Cons:
entertainment
Our 5th RCI cruise and we still love it.We chose this smaller ship over the massive newer Oasis of the seas. Turns out our captain also prefered the smaller ship to, as he came back to the Jewel after a year and a half on the Oasis, wanting a ship he could get to know everyone on. Service was great and food always changing and fresh. We did fell the entertainment could have been better overall. On a side note, a friend was on the Oasis and noted it was just too big, crowded, service not to par and entertainment was awful. We'll be back to RCI, sticking to the smaller ships.

A great cruise!
by Melissa R. from NY, NY
Sailing date:
Apr 2012
Pros:
Great food, fun activities
Cons:
Not such great ports and overly crowded pool
This ship was not very modern, but very well-maintained and clean. It would have been nice if the pool and hot tub weren't so crowded all the time.

Dining/Food
The Chops Steakhouse was great, well worth the $30 per person charge. Portofino, the Italian restaurant was also good, but similar to the food in the DIning Room so not as worth the $20 per person charge. Both were delicious though.
