Awesome and totally worth it. by
Rajashree Suppiah from Malaysia Sailing date: Sep 2012Pros: The well organised shore execursions and art auction Cons: Impatient staff (dont remember name) who fussed about giving information on the shore excursion Really had a wonderful time and thought that free style cruising was a brilliant idea. Kept thinking it would work great for my family (big) who all have their own ideas and plans. This way everyone gets to do their own thing and meet up at meals or other pre-determined events nly. Vegas on the ocean by
Kathleen H from Hannibal, MO Sailing date: Feb 2012Pros: Great restaurants, activities (rock climbing and rappelling), entertainment (Second City, Blue Man Group, Jeff Hobsworth, Silky Smooth, Apollo Duo, Legends in Concert), the restaurants (Le Bistro, Manhattan, Moderno), and the island visits Cons: The mini-suite view over boats, lack of electrical outlets, strange cabin layout with minimal space. Get a balcony, as the mini suite is not worth the extra price. Despite the large ship it is very easy to find everything. The common areas are well laid out and lovely. The staff is exceptionally hard working and attentive. Ship Quality

Fabulous cruise for the whole family! by
Whitney H from Toney, AL Sailing date: Feb 2012Pros: Adult entertaiment and kids program It was the best vacation we have ever taken. My kids loved the kids program. I had to practically drag them out to eat and sleep. The adult entertainment was unparalleled. The night scene was so great that I barely slept. There were so many choices and so much to do I didn't have time for it all. The pool and water slides were so fun and it never felt crowded. The food was fantastic and there was so much variety just in the buffet, not to mention the specialty restaurants. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Ship QualityAlways clean and so roomy. Dining/FoodSo delicious and always available. Stateroom QualityAlways clean and comfortable. Ship Staff Qualityfriendly and helpful Entertainment & Activitiesexceeded expectations and so much more variety than other family cruises Children's Programsvery safe my kids loved it. i had to practically drag them out 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

  Absolutely Beautiful! by
James B. from Westfield IN Sailing date: May 2011Pros: Everything! Layout, cabin decor, ship decor, space, food, service, friendliness of crew/staff! EVERYTHING! Cons: Only gripe --- folks, let people get off the elevator before you barge in! :-) Norwegian Epic is a beautiful ship --- wonderful decor, incredibly friendly crew and staff, very pleasant cabin decor, CLEAN! Just loved it! Ship QualityEpic --- she's a big girl! And absolutely beautiful! Dining/FoodBuffet, Le Bistro, Cagney's, Mondero --- every one had something wonderful! The food was fresh and delicious, great selection, and the service was excellent! Stateroom QualityWell, okay.......gotta be honest --- I love the look of the "wave" rooms, but I gotta admit --- I'd prefer the bathroom really be a separate room. But in all honesty, it really was no big deal. Oh! And the sink --- was NEVER a problem at all. And the storage! I could not believe how much storage room there was! Great suite! Ship Staff QualityEVERY single crew or staff member we came into contact with was very friendly, always greeting us with a smile. There is pride among these folks, and it really shows! Great job! We WILL be back! Entertainment & ActivitiesLegends, Cirque, Blue Men, and everything else was great! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at every event!
Collapse List of Ports
Civitavecchia (Rome), ItalyWhat can I say??? The Colosseum, the Arch of Constantine, the Vatican..........beautiful, amazing, HUGE, overwhelming.........
Don't Miss: EVERYTHING! (But good luck --- need weeks to see it all!) Will definitely be back! Livorno (Florence & Pisa), ItalyHave to say --- out of all our ports of call, I absolutely fell in love with Lucca. What a beautiful city with beautiful and friendly people! LOVED it!
Don't Miss: Interacting with the locals! Naples, ItalyThoroughly enjoyed Napoli! :-) Wandered through the streets, browsing the shops. Had wonderful food, including the FRESHEST, most amazing mozzarella you could imagine! Also went to Pompeii --- this just boggled my mind.........don't miss it! Tragic, but so beautiful.
Don't Miss: Pompeii Palma De Mallorca, Balearic IslandsGORGEOUS! GORGEOUS! GORGEOUS! Did the wine tour and Belver Castle. Absolutely wonderful! The winery/vineyard doesn't export to the US, so brought a few bottles of wine back with me. I so want to delve in, but can't bring myself to open a bottle yet...........:-)
Don't Miss: Relaxation, winery tour, the people. 6 out of 6 people found this review helpful.

  Great Cruise! by
Julia W from Panama City, FL Sailing date: Apr 2013Pros: Food, entertainment, big balcony, ports, Cons: Chair hogs It is a really huge ship that is full of entertainment, great food, and lots of fun. There was always something to do, even at 6 in the morning as I found out (the gym was open)! Ship QualityShip was huge, public areas were always clean and nice to look at. We took the stairs almost always just to keep the weight off but when we did take the elevators it wasn't long of a wait as some reviewers have stated. Dining/FoodWe always ate at either Taste or in the buffet. Food was great and service was even better. I think we had one waiter who didn't seem very friendly but he could've been having a bad day so I won't go any further than that. We always found something good to eat and loved both venues. Stateroom QualityWe had an extended balcony room and loved it! The room has a split bathroom/shower and we found it to be awesome. When we felt a bit modest using the bathroom we just asked each other to go out on the balcony to see what was out there. No big deal. Our room steward, Michael, was awesome and knew our names when we first met him. Very nice and professional! Ship Staff QualityThe staff on the ship was exceptional and very professional! I have zero complaints about them as they were awesome! Entertainment & ActivitiesDon't miss Blue Man Group unless you don't like loud shows. These guys were great! 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

  Excellent overall! by
Brooke L. from Baltimore, MD Sailing date: Jun 2012We were very pleased with all aspects of the Epic. The room was quite nice for a cruise ship cabin, especially the shower, which was surprisingly large. Loved having the balcony, which was also well-sized for a cruise ship. The buffet food was decent; the sit-down restaurants (both the included ones and the specialty) were excellent. We were also pleased with the entertainment that we saw, which included the Blue Man Group, Howl at the Moon, and several of the "game show" style shows at the Atrium. Our only gripe about the entire experience was the obnoxious kids who insisted on running down the hallway through the cabin area at night. Ship QualityThe Epic is *huge* compared to the cruise ships I was used to, but we found it pretty easy to get around. The lack of ability to access a couple of the floors from the rear stairwells was confusing at first, but we quickly adapted! We were very pleased with the overall decor and cleanliness of all areas of the ship. Dining/FoodThe steakhouse and French specialty restaurants were well worth the small extra cost! Great Vacation! by
Marc from Miami, Fl Sailing date: May 2012Pros: New Ship, Great Entertainmemt, Good Food (better if you go to the additional cost eateries) Cons: Food just average at the restaurants that are included with the cost of the cruise Great Ship...incredible vacation...already starting to plan the next cruise! Ship Quality
Dining/FoodStock up on lobster the first night (manhattan dining room) because this is the only night it is offered on the ship...in any restaurant for the entire cruise. Stateroom QualityGreat Ship, Balcony room was a little small but well laid out...balcony made a big differance so spend the extra $ Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & ActivitiesMake sure to see Cirque Dreams and pay for premium seats...it is worth the $35! Incredible show!!! 1 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

  A Traveller from DC by
A Traveler from DC Sailing date: Jun 2011Pros: Clean ship, rooms. Great food options. My teenager enjoyed teen arcade & activities Cons: Too few elevators, Lounge chairs on deck Very large ship with majority of staterooms having balconies. We are not major connoiseurs of food, we had constant access to hamburgers and pizza. We ate at Cagneys steak house and had filet mignon with shimp cocktail. The dinner at the Cirque de Soleil was also very good. We were more focused on seeing Pisa, Pompeii, Mt. Vesuvius, Spanish steps, and the Colosseum. It was pretty warm in late June so we made sure we had a lot of water since we were doing a lot of walking. Coming back to the clean comfort of this new ship was a great feeling. I gave Excellent reviews because it was exactly what we needed. I am aware of other more posh cruises but you have to pay more for those, they would probably get "the best" rating, but we hope to go again on this cruise, saving our money for another trip like this one. Ship QualityNew ship so very good condition. Dining/FoodProvided freestyle food service, buffet had good food options with Oriental selection one night and British (fish & chips) another. Found O'SheeHans had fish & chips whenever you wanted. We ate at Cirque de Soleil and was good and enjoyable. Also ate at Cagney's steak had shrimp cocktail and filet mignon, additional cost. Stateroom QualityClean, well kept, had hair dryer, fully enclosed shower and toilet with drape to separate them from room. Ship Staff QualityMandatory $12 per person service took the a little away from the service because it was expected. Entertainment & ActivitiesHad a variety of smaller entertainment options such as comedian, lounge singer, jazz band, organized kids activities like indoor soccer. Also had Blue Man and Cirque de Soleil. 12 out of 12 people found this review helpful.
