  Great Service. by
Carmela from Montreal, Quebec, Canada Sailing date: Mar 2007Pros: I loved the artistic and glamourous decor from the fine restaurants to the elaborate theatre/bars to the hallways of the staterooms. It was a truly relaxing vacation, thanks to the great service on board. We always felt pampered and well taken care of. The friendly and efficient staff made it easy and pleasant. No pressure...just loads of fun at your own convenience. Wonderful experience for myself and my son ! Entertainment & Activities

Cozumel, MexicoSunny Cozumel.
The weather was beautiful and we had a great time shopping. Our lunch was a good break consisting of "home-made" sandwiches in the company of a trio of Mexican singers.
Grand Turk IslandWhite sands and turqouise waters of Grank Turk.
I liked the short distance of the beach from the port. We enjoyed a beautiful afternoon at the beach and pool.
Don't Miss: The beach and pools. Ocho Rios, JamaicaShopping Jamaica-Style.
Weather was not ideal for the beach but still comfortable for walking and shopping. I did not feel too safe walking the streets as some locals put pressure to sell.
Don't Miss: Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee and Tortuga cakes (if you missed them in Grand Caymen). Shopping for jewellery. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

  Extremely disappointing. by
Barry from Welaka, FL Sailing date: Apr 2007Pros: It is a very pretty ship. The stateroom are roomy and the bathrooms are exceptionally large. We cruised on the Costa Magica cruise to Bermuda on 4/15/07. Just to put this in perspective, we are frequent cruisers (we have been on at least 8-10 cruises in the past several years). The most disappointing part of our cruise was the food. In particular, the buffets offered little selections. A good portion of the buffet table was taken up with different types of bread rather than an array of food choices. The desserts selections were extremely disappointing, ice cream and cake. If there was pie, it was gone before you found out about it. We have been on cruises where the hamburgers are cooked to order and find that putting hamburgers in a buffet tray is extremely unappetizing. Perhaps, the issue was that the staff had little knowledge of the English language. Our dissatisfaction with Costa was emphasized by the fact that AT NO TIME during our 7 day cruise, did a waiter or waitress come up to us either at a table our sitting the any of the public areas and asked us if we would like a drink. I THINK THIS IS JUST PLAIN STUPID ON THE PART OF THE CRUISE LINE. They are missing the boat since this is obviously a "money making" opportunity for the cruise line having the "only game in town". Other cruise lines, has wait staff walking around with the drink of the day on trays tempting you to buy one. At $5.25 a drink, this is definitely a missed opportunity. The dinner menu was certainly better than the buffet, but it was certainly "nothing to write home about". On almost every dinner menu, there was some type of steak, which the cooks managed to crucify. The waiters in the restaurant were certainly the highlight of the trip, but again, they could use a good dose of training. They were very personable, but the lacked the flair. I do not feel this is their fault, but due to lack of good training. During the cruise, our stateroom flooded twice because the drains were, apparently, clogged. When I called "Guest Services", this situation was finally fixed. The "Captain's" cocktail party was no less dissappointing. There were a limited number of waiters and waitresses serving drinks (it was the same during the shows) and again, I feel they are missing out on a great money making opportunity. There were no h'oeurve dors served at all as we have had on ALL of our previous cruises. Unfortunately, we had many other lines to compare them to. If this were our first cruise, we would probably never take another one. I feel that it is very important that we share our thoughts, so that perhaps there can be a chance for improvement. We spoke ot many other passengers on the cruise and, unfortunately, their feelings were the same as ours. I don't believe we are being overly critical, but we expect "GOOD FOOD" and "GOOD SERVICE" when we take a cruise. Entertainment & Activities

We took a taxi in Nassau to the Atlantis Hotel where we took tour of the grounds and their extensive aquariums. It was a beautiful experience.

Cozumel, MexicoAdventure and exploration.
Experienced the adventure park, climbed man-made rock towers, zip lines and rappeling. Staff at this excursion was exceptionallt firendly and helpful from start to finish. Part two of the excursion was to snorkel at the adjacent beach. Wonderful guided experience in beautifully clear and warm waters.
Don't Miss: Snorkeling or scuba. The waters are crystal clear, the marine life is extraordinairy and the experience is one you won't forget. George Town, Grand CaymanSubmarine adventure.
We dove over 100 feet in a submarine. Air- conditioned comfort, great view, narrated tour. Well worth the cost of the excursion. Staff was first rate.
Grand Turk IslandFirst time scuba.
I had a wonderful experience learning to scuba dive. First plunge into the waters of Grand Turks was amazing. Had the opportunity to swim with a sting ray. My experience was wonderful, but the experience of others that took the excursion were not as good.
Don't Miss: The diving in the area is amazing, but as with all cruise excursions, always use caution and protect yourself. A member of my diving party nearly drowned because of a panic situation underwater. The s Ocho Rios, JamaicaThe Jeep ride from hell.
5 hours of physical abuse with the added insult of inhaling essentially unfiltered exhaust fumes directly from the tail pipe of our jeep. After the jeep ride we got to experience the falls, where a member of my party had a medical emergency. No tour staff was around or could be located to assist, I was left to do so on my own.
