Alaska! Alaska! by
Marguerite L. from Gallup, NM and Ipswich, MA Sailing date: Jun 2010Pros: Tracy Arm Fjord and float plane ride Cons: not applicable The cruise on Celebrity Infinity was our first cruise--it was wonderful! The steward and waiter (for evening dinner) were memorable; I think their names were Ivan and Hasrul. We were surprised daily by the number of activities for all ages, by the professionalism of the evening shows, and by the pleasant and helpful manner of all the personnel on deck. The boat was amazing! Huge! A veritable floating community! And of course, the stops in Katchecan, Juneau, and Skagway were truly amazing when it came to landscape and scenery. Ship Quality
Dining/Food
Stateroom QualityThe bed kind of slanted to both sides with a hump in the middle and was not too comfortable; however, that inconvenience was minor in comparison with the overall condition of the stateroom. Ship Staff QualityHasrul the waiter (I don't think I'm spelling his name right--he was from Indonesia) was the absolute best, kindest, most helpful person my husband and I met; he was the waiter at the dinner meal each evening. Our Alaskan Cruise by
Lois W. from Indianapolis, IN Sailing date: Jun 2010Pros: The scenery was fabulous Cons: Sorry we didn't take more shore excursions This ship was perfect. We had an outside room and it was nice to see where we were
going. It was so smooth we couldn't really tell when we were moving and when we
were docked. The cabin had plenty of storage space for all our things. My husband
used a scooter which we rented and we left it in the hallway outside our room. The
room attendant let us use an extention cord to charge it each night. This ship was
probably the largest we had been on and by far the smoothest. Ship Quality

Entertainment & ActivitiesA naturalist was on board and spoke about whales, eagles, bears, sea lions, and
otters. He was great and so animated during his presentation - he was down on the
floor acting like the animal he was speaking about.

Juneau, AlaskaJuneau was very crowded with four cruise ships in port. The sidewalks close to the
ship were quite narrow. Therefore with the scooter and all the people, we didn't stay
long.
Ketchikan, AlaskaVery nice town and easily accessible to the ship. Enjoyed the lumberjack show and we
could walk to it from the ship. Shopping was varied and nice.
Skagway, AlaskaOf course, the train ride was the best and a must see. The scenery was fabulous
and we had great care by the porter for people in scooters or wheel chairs. The town
is great - glad it is still like it was in gold mining days. I found a quilt shop and went crazy
for Alaskan themed fabric.
Don't Miss: The don't miss activity is definitely the three-hour train ride. 3 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

Celebrity had good and bad points by
Laura J. from Temple TX Sailing date: Jun 2010Pros: The staff was curtious and very efficient Cons: The food was awful and I was not alone in that opinion--it was the talk of the ship The staff from beginning to end was wonderful, the shows were Broadway quality and the naturalist on board was awesome. The Big disappointment was the food--prime rib that could hardly be cut with a knife, fish that was very "fishy" and halibut was like mush. Only one night did we have decent food and that was our last night. Ship QualityNice ship but not as pretty as many that we have been on previously. Dining/FoodThis was a great disappointment. See above. However, I must say that our wait persons were a delight. Unexpectedly, we were forced to eat several meals on shore. The best thing on the ship was the fresh salad bar on the buffet. Salads at dinner were wilted and additional veggies were stale. Stateroom QualityWe chose a less expensive cabin this time and it was fine. This was a conscious decision because the views were so spectacular we went to a room at the top of the ship that had ceiling to floor glass and comfortable club chairs. From this vantage point we could see sights on both sides of the ship and thought this was better than sitting on a balcony---temperature was right with no wind. :) Ship Staff QualityEvery request was above and beyound our expectations. An example: The last morning when everyone was so busy, we asked where the closest coffee would be and our attendant said he would bring us some and almost immediately we had a beautifful tray with cups, cream and a pot of coffee---a great surprise and more than we had expected or would have considered asking for on such a busy morning. Entertainment & ActivitiesThe shows over all were high energy and the stage swarmed with talent. The magic show was below par, but everything else was great.
We went to several of the onboard lectures and all were excellent, entertaining as well as informative.

Juneau, AlaskaThe zip line excursion was awesome. The staff was reassuring and fun. The add on to this was Mendenhal Glacier, a disappointment after seeing the Misty Fjords.
Don't Miss: The zip line and I understand the whale watching was a grand success. Ketchikan, Alaska
Skagway, AlaskaVery touristy---every other store a jewelry store with trinket shops in between. They have done a nice job of keeping the historical nature of the buildings. To escape the town and the thousands of tourists in this tiny space we went to Garden City Glassworks and "blew" (with a lot of help) a piece of art to bring home.
Victoria, British ColumbiaThis was my third trip to Bruchart Gardens and I never tire of this fabulous site. The tour said "City tour" and gardens. The city tour consisted of whatever was along side the streets on the way to the gardens. We missed the best part of the city, the Empress Hotel and government buildings around the harbor. That was wasted time and it was dark for much of the city sites. That said, our bus driver gave it his best shot and had lots of history to tell us on the way to the gardens and back to the ship.
Don't Miss: The gardens 3 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

7 day Alaska Cruise Celebrity Infinity by
Donald H from Atlanta,Ga Sailing date: Sep 2008Pros: Customer service was absolutely outstanding Cons: Arrived in ports often very early causing cancellations of excursions My wife and I highly recommend this trip on this boat. I can honestly say I have never received such great service from genuinely nice people. Their attention to detail was first class all the way. 6 out of 10 people found this review helpful.

A Traveler from Oregon Sailing date: Jul 2012Pros: Variety and wide range of choices of cruise features Cons: Lack of detailed Information provided about excursions and options. Hawking of cheap jewelery The overall cruise was excellent. Very good service mentality as well as variety of choice of onboard activities and food services. Lack of detailed Information provided about excursions and options along with some of the fine print details of packages was frustrating at times. Ship Quality

  Panama Cruise Experience by
A Traveler from Las Vegas, NV Sailing date: Apr 2010Pros: Sights and land excursions Cons: Too many days at sea Huge ship. We stayed lost on the ship all of the time. The production shows were the greatest. The oher evening shows seemed like "just put together" shows. The food was OK, but not something we would rave about. The ice cream counters were a hit, but they only served from 12 noon to six P.M. No evening ice cream service was available except in the dining rooms. The crew was excellent, especially the cabin stewards. Would use Clebdrity Cruises again, but not for a fourteen day cruise. Too many days at sea. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodNeed more time for casual ice cream service. Need more self-serve ice cream machines. Service in the select dining room (Trellis, floor 5, was always slow.) Stateroom Quality
Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & ActivitiesStage production shows were the best. The other acts and groups were "Some thing to see," when you had nothing else to do. The stage production band was excellent at all times. 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

Muriel M from Oregon Sailing date: Nov 2012Pros: lectures, food, service Cons: cost of excursions This was our first ever cruise and we loved it. Ship QualityWe were concerned it was too big at first glance, but one can find quiet places if need be Dining/Foodwe were scheduled for the 8:30pm dinner, too late for us, so we only went once and it was delicious but the rest of the cruise we ate at the grill (great fish) Stateroom Qualityseeing the ocean from the bed on moonlit nights was lovely Ship Staff Qualitydelightful staff Entertainment & Activitieswe would have like to tour the kitchen but it was offered during excursion times which made it difficult.
The live music was excellent and the lectures really interesting 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.
