Awesome cruise eperience! by
Tammy N. from MN Sailing date: Sep 2011Pros: Ship was brand new. The ports of call, and the excursion choices were amazing! Cons: We may have been on the young side for entertainment desires. We liked the entertainment on our last Carnival cruise to the carribean in February better. Our trip to the mediteranian was awesome. Carnival Magic was a very smooth sailing ship. The layout of the ship was much like other carnival ships but brand new and larger. We chose Carnival for our trip because we wanted to spend as much time exploring different ports of call and less time on the ship. Carnival's 12 day cruise only had 3 days at sea. We were ale to see so much more of the mediteranian than other cruise lines. My husband and I usually travel to one place and stay there for many days/weeks to explore on our vacations. After our first cruise to the caribbean in Feb. we were really excited to cruise through the mediteranian. Carnival had long days at port which gave you alot of time to get a feel for each place and you also knew you had a comfortable, clean and calm place to go home to at the end of each day. Loved it! Planning our next trip already! Ship Quality

  A great cruise by
Carla S. from Denver, CO Sailing date: Sep 2011Pros: Included many fantastic location Cons: The entertainment on the boat Great ship, the staterooms are very functional and comfortable. The pool areas are nice, the workout facilities are great, the dining room is nice and the marketplace was very functional.
Did not find the evening entertainment to be very good. Compared to other cruises I have been on, they really lacked on quality. Also the sound systems were very loud everywhere which became annoying.. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodMy only complaint would be the coffee machines were often having issues and therefore long lines would develop. We decided room service was the best way to go to get coffee. That was perfect. Stateroom Quality

A wonderful cruise with a few exceptions by
Debbie B from Texarkana, Texas Sailing date: Sep 2011Pros: Cruise director, beauty of the ship, friendliness of staff Cons: ran out of water on days of shore excursions, lack of efficiency re shore excursions Very beautiful ship. We had a major problem from the beginning. The Redfrog Pub was directly below our stateroom. HORRIBLE!!! Could hear the music, laughter, noise every night. I mean bass shaking the walls at times. I have already rebooked for another cruise on this ship so overall I did like it BUT even though they gave me a $691.00 credit toward price of the cruise, not enough for the inconvenience. When I rebooked, I made sure I was far away from the pub!! Ship Quality
Dining/FoodWas unable to go to dining room because of late shore excursions BUT the Lido Marketplace was pretty good. In the buffet line at night, the food was hit and miss as far as temperature of food. Stateroom QualityEverything was excellent but location of room with problem as described above Ship Staff QualityRating says it all Entertainment & Activities

Don't Miss: Couldnt go wrong on anything on this port. Livorno (Florence & Pisa), ItalyI did not like Florence at all. Too crowded, traffic horrible. Hot day so that may have had something to do with it!!

Messina, SicilyWent to Mt. Etna. AWESOME GUIDE! Just didnt like Messina that much.
Venice, ItalyLoved Venice. Went on Gondola ride (awesome); went to St. Mark's Square (awesome); went to Murano and Burano (awesome)

  History packed cruise by
Claude B. from Lantana, Fl. USA. Sailing date: Jul 2011Pros: The shore excursions Cons: Lots of children on board Very comfortable ship and much easier to ger around than previous ships; it's obvious the builders took lessons from past comments. More separate areas where one can get away from the crowds. Ship Quality

  wonderful cruise by
A Traveler from Sikeston, MO Sailing date: Jul 2011Pros: the ports for this trip Cons: waiter in the formal dining room a new ship everyting was great, only thing missing was a exercise room, they put the equipment out on the deck with a minature golf area and a sky court, no privacy for a female to do her workouts Ship Qualityvery large, the ships has 3500 guest s and a 1000 crew members Dining/Foodfood was great, we just a jerk head waiter from Poland who was rude, he chewed us out for coming in late, our bus got back late....then the next night he splattered tea over my clothes while he was pouring...he told me on the last night he did not like the ship and wanted transfered to a smaller ship Stateroom Qualitywow what a guy..he had the room sparking clean all the time...hey on this ship you can pack less they have a self laundry on decks 2, 7 and 9 its 1.25 for soap, 3.00 to wash each load and 3.00 if you want to dry, we had a balcony so I just aired dried our stuff. Ship Staff Qualityeveryone wonderful except the head waiter Entertainment & Activitiesgreat great shows, vegas quality

  Great ports of call by
A Traveler from Syracuse, NY Sailing date: Jun 2011Pros: Venice Cons: Needed to book excursions through Carnival and there was little variety of food. The Magic has the same layout as the other Carnival ships which is hard to get around and see everything easily. The nice thing about the ship was the decor. Everything is glass and very beautiful. Unfortunately the food was not that great. Weeks before this cruise we were on the Freedom in the Caribbean and the food was exactly the same as it was on the Magic. If you go to the sit down dinner the choices for dinner are not that great and the choices for dessert are even worse. The variety of entertainment on the ship at night was not the best. A note about some of the ports when you dock the main city is about an hour away and was necessary to book an excursion through the cruise which books up very fast. Ship Quality
