Entertainment just OK by
Kurt W from Minnesota Sailing date: Nov 2010Pros: We had a suite and there was enough room for our family of 5 to comfortably spend the 4 days, breakfast was good in the fantasy dining room Cons: lunch selection wasn't very good, food was ok, long lines Ship seemed to be older with less amenities than we would have liked Ship Qualitynot that great Dining/Foodbreakfast was good, dinner was ok and lunch was terrible Stateroom QualityWe had a suite and there was plenty of room Ship Staff QualityStaff was everything you would expect from a cruise Entertainment & ActivitiesNot a lot to do Children's ProgramsWas disapointed, we have 3 kids 10 12 and 14 not enough to do, they offered laser tag at certain times for a FEE!!! all the money we spend for our kids to come along and Carnival needs another $ 5.00 for the laser tag.

  Carnival Sensation by
Kemberly S. from Albemarle, NC Sailing date: Jun 2009Pros: The room was great. Cons: The crew was very sullen. We were very disappointed in this trip. The crew was not at all friendly. Some even acted like we were bothering them. (Soda girl in 1st dining was awesome.) Never even met cabin steward. No matter when he/she cleaned it was always 1/2 done. Entertainment staff was not so great either however the shows themselves were out of this world. Was first time cruise for my husband and now he doesn't want to ever do one again. Ship QualityThe ship itself was fine. Public areas were always clean, public bathrooms included. Dining/FoodDining room food was good if not fantastic. Breakfast buffet on deck was great. Stateroom QualityWe were very pleased with size and comfort of the room itself. Cleaning is another story. Ship Staff QualityOf 100 employees maybe maybe 5 smiled or spoke. Entertainment & ActivitiesVegas style shows were awesome

Freeport, Grand Bahama IslandFreeport was a bust. Very hot, nothing close to dock. Nothing to do unless you booked a tour. Waste of time.
Nassau, BahamasEnjoyed Nassau. Plenty to do whether you booked a tour or not. Adastra Gardens was fun.

Couldn't get off this ship fast enough! by
Gabrielle from Delaware Sailing date: Jan 2007To sum up this experience: Awful. We got to the ship for the embarkation process, which I can only compare to a cattle run. Once we were on the ship we found our cabin, and collapsed onto the bed...only to find that it was lumpy and had two dips form previous passenger's sleeping there. Putting that aside, the room was ugly. Decorated in a peach and grey motif that was also threadbare to boot. The bathroom was tiny tiny, I had to put my leg out of the shower an prop my foot onto the sink in order to shave my legs! We made plans to go onshore with the ship, only to find that most of the trips were already sold out. The next morning I went to use the gym and found it locked. It took me 30mins to find someone who told me it wasn?t opening till 8am, with no notice left for the group gathered outside of the gym. Later that same morning we waited for our bus that was about 40 mins late. We loaded onto the bus, waited 15 minutes before the activities director told us our trip was CANCELED and we were left with only 2 other options for an activity that day because the rest had sold out or already left. The carnival crew was very unhelpful and unapologetic during this experience. Food was sub par. If you consider Olive Garden or Applebee's to be 'gourmet' food, you'll be disappointed. Even breakfast was disappointing with stale cereal, greasy eggs, and old fruit. The crew was rude and unhelpful. Our second morning there we spent 45 minute trying to get beach towels to take on shore. We couldn't reach our room steward, despite no less then 20 calls to them and the front desk. I even went out onto the pool deck to find towels, and found that they were locked till 8am; 15minutes before we were suppose to board our bus. No one was willing to find a supervisor to help me get two stupid towels. Fall down drunks were common place. I witnessed someone being tossed into a wheelchair off of the disco's dance floor and wheeled off. My other half watched someone vomit in the hallway. Charming. If you smoke, as I do, good luck finding the designated smoking areas. If you don't smoke, good luck finding the designated non smoking areas. There are no signs. One of the bars, which is a circle, half of the circle is smoking the other half is none. So you can be sitting in the 'non' area right next to a smoker. At one point I was on an outside deck smoking, and was told to put it out despite a CREW MEMBER smoking not ten feet from me. The final straw was our last night there. Tired and ready to get off of this terrible ship, we waited for our offshore purchases to be delivered to the cabin, per the cruise director's instructions. The items were to be delivered by 9pm. It wasn't until several calls to the front desk and two trips to the farthest end of the ship that they finally delivered us our items at 3AM! This when we're supposed to be ready to leave the ship at 8am! No apology from anyone, and they even tried delivered stuff to us that was clearly marked for another cabin! The fun continued as we left the ship, and we treated to rude, nasty barked instructions by crew on and off the ship. I even witnessed an elderly couple, one in a wheelchair, being screamed at by a crew member, because he felt they were 'going the wrong way' despite Carnival's signs instructing wheelchair bound passengers to proceed in the direction they were headed. I have never come back from a vacation so miserable, sad, and tired. I felt like I was taken for a ride by Carnival, and I will never consider cruising with them again. Entertainment & ActivitiesActivities: First day of the cruise I went to use to fitness room to find it was locked. It was just after 6am, an the schedual said it would open at 6am. I waited for 15 minutes before going downstairs to ask the desk. No one knew, and I had to wait around for another 15 minutes before they told me it wouldn't open till 8am! They didn't even bother to post a sign for the group that had begun to gather at the fitness center's doors!
Entertainment: Sad, pathetic entertainment. Like watching a cut rate Vegas show dying slowly. Everything cost extra, even bingo. 4 out of 7 people found this review helpful.

  Carnival- What a Joke!! by
Ken from Phoenix, AZ Sailing date: Mar 2006Pros: Pulling into our final port! At time of boarding were informed that we will not be going to our chosen destination due to ship problems. (NOT FAST ENOUGH) After boarding we had to buss our own table in order to sit and eat. Our detour took us to some God Awful place called Freeport. THATS A GREAT TRADE FOR THE GRAND TURKS. All excursions were cancelled at Freeport. Life aboard the ship was DEAD. No music, shows were far and few in between. The slide at the pool was closed. Stepped over the same spilled Ketchup puddle for two days. Complained to the Purser and to Carnival. Still waiting for some kind of reply. Entertainment & Activities

 Carnival Sucks. by
Murali from DFW Sailing date: Jun 2006Carnival, is trying to save money on food and service. Premium restaurant serving staff were arrogant and did not care to smile any one of us in the neigbourhood. They think, they already received the tips and does not need to worry any more. I will never ever sail in carnival again. Entertainment & Activities
