Best vacation by
A Traveler from San Jose, CA Sailing date: Dec 2008Pros: Entertainment programs and Dining Cons: none Very well designed ship with easy access to all I wanted. Embarkation and dembarkation were smooth and fast. The entertainment programs and dining were awesome. Staff was efficient, professional and friendly. Ship QualityExcellent attention to details as everything worked in perfect condition. Many elevators were conveniently available. Dining/FoodFood was one of the best parts of cruise. High quality food and service over and over again for 4 days. They also offered great choices for vegetarian and ethnic cuisines. 24 hours service. We love the staff for taking great care of our even the smallest needs. Stateroom QualityWe were family of 4 in a single oceanview stateroom and we all felt comfortable. Well architected rooms. We were highly impressed by hard work and dedication of our stateroom server/steward. Ship Staff QualityMost staff we met went above and beyond their duty with smiling faces. Entertainment & ActivitiesWe celebrated new year party in the ship which was a great fun. They had entertainment all day long, but the night shows were just fantastic with Broadway production quality entertainers and stage. Cruise Director was himself a great comedian. Children's ProgramsThey offered several free children clubs for all ages until 17yrs. Our 12yr boy was in the "Circle C" club. All clubs were full of great activities. Our 18yr son did not fit in to any of their age-based clubs. We wish if they had allowed our 18yrs to participate in the 16-17yrs club. However, he was busy with daily Basketball and Ping-pong competing events besides other programs.

Ensenada, MexicoWe went for 2hrs horse riding session and it was an awesome experience since we had never done horse riding ourselves.
Catalina Island, CaliforniaWe enjoyed Sagway tours. Glass Bottom Boat was a waste of time. They offered a dozen other interesting options, but the above 2 events fit our family interest.

Paradise Carnival Cruise was Fantastic by
Cindy R from West Des Moines, Iowa Sailing date: Sep 2009Pros: Food, new friends and staff Cons: fog that rolled in off the ocean, not their fault! Very clean, food was delicious, staff was wonderful. We have a wonderful time and met some very sweet new friends on deck and at our dinner table Ship QualityI have been on a ship exactly designed like this. Very roomy. Dining/FoodThis was my 5th cruise. I have to say, the food was the best this time. Stateroom Qualityvery good at taking care of everythingwhile we were out Ship Staff Qualityextremely friendly. Entertainment & ActivitiesWe didn't do alot of this, but the comedians were really funny 8 out of 8 people found this review helpful.

A Traveler from Etiwanda, CA Sailing date: Aug 2007Pros: Clean, modern. The dinner staff was superior.
Dining/Food
Stateroom QualityThe stateroom was a little small, but I didn't spend too much time there.
Ship Staff QualityThe staff remembered our likes and dislikes and treated us more like friends than customers.

Ensenada, MexicoThird World.
I did not like the pushy people. I liked La Bufadora but all the merchants actually scared me. There is a nice beach at Ensenada, but it is closed because of pollution. There is nothing to recommend this town.
Catalina Island, CaliforniaCatalina is a world apart from California.
Catalina is a fun town, and enough time was allowed to see the town but not too much time to kill.
Don't Miss: Snorkeling in Lover's Cove. 11 out of 15 people found this review helpful.

  Awful Vacation! by
De Laina from Las Vegas, NV, US Sailing date: Aug 2007Pros: Fine dinning restaurants. Rude crew members, boring shows, dirty and dumpy ship, buffet awful. Destination ? Restaurant, excellent food and service. Dining/FoodWoderful service & food at dinner in the Destination Restaruant. The Paris & Lido Deck food was awful. Seating would of been good there, if we could of found a clean table to sit at. Poorly kept restaurant. Need to pay attention to detail.
Stateroom QualityRoom was nice and bigger than expected and bed was very comfortable, but there was hair from the people before us in the shower. Gross!
Ship Staff QualityShort and rude. When asked a woman bartender how the overall cruise was, she looked at us a said "What do you want me to say? I work here!" Not to excite about her job, is she? When we first got on the ship they kept telling us to go to the Lido deck. They weren't saying what number floor it was on. Went to the elevator and didn't see a Lido deck button. I then turned to a crew member and asked where do we go now. He looked at me and motioned upward with his thumb.
Entertainment & Activities
Entertainment: Boring and Needs updating. Shout show was awful. Second show should be earlier in the evening. Save bingo for late night. Band members in bar should have costumes not Pullover shirts with name tags. The performers did great for the material they had to go off of. Spice it up a little. I have seen better high school musicals than the Shout show. 7 out of 8 people found this review helpful.

Great cruise except the buffet by
A Traveler from Los Angeles, CA Sailing date: Feb 2009Pros: Excellent staff Cons: Buffet food is OK Stateroom is clean and spacious - except it takes a while for the room to be cleaned.
The staff is excellent and very attentive.
Excursions to Ensenada were fun and appropriate for the time spent.
Formal dinners at Destiny and Elation Rooms were very good.
Dance clubs and bars were fun.
Buffet food was OK, and the lines were very long. There seems to be a lack of time management in preparing the buffet food. They cut off the food/lines too early. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodThe formal dining rooms (Destiny and Elation Rooms) were great with good staff support. Poor food management and operating hours were too short at Paris Restaurant (buffet). Buffet lines were too long because of a lack of planning. Stateroom Quality
Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & ActivitiesGreat performances by the singers/dancers, especially Tenea is the best. 5 out of 5 people found this review helpful.

We would choose Carnival's Paradise agai by
A Traveler from California Sailing date: Jun 2007Pros: Its staff. The people on the ship encourage you to relax and have fun. Our experience was simply wonderful on Carnival's Paradise. Food and drinks were terrific, as was the service. We enjoyed the spa, hot tubs, and shows, but especially liked the late-night comedians. Through our stay, the staff went out of their way to make our trip enjoyable. We also appreciated the fact that tips were added to the bill automatically, and that we could choose to tip individuals in addition to this if we wanted. We did tip some key staffers because we felt no cruiseline pressure to do so. We would cruise again with Carnival. Dining/FoodWe were able to change dining times. We especially liked the fact that menus were posted during the day for the evening.
Stateroom QualityState room steward was excellent. Loved the towel animals, too.
Ship Staff QualityThe service staff was tremendous!
Entertainment & Activities
Entertainment: Entertainment, especially the late-night comics, were first-rate. Our cruise director made all presentations interesting and entertaining as well. Children's Programs

Ensenada, MexicoJeep excursion: Dust bowl fun.
We took the jeep excursion. Our husbands picked this trip. They LOVED it, since it involved riding on hillsides of dirt. We had a good time, too, even though we were covered with dust by the time we were done.
Don't Miss: The final stop at the winery. Catalina Island, CaliforniaSeeing Catalina.
We took a bus tour of the island and the glass bottom boat ride. The boat ride was excellent--much better than the old glass bottom excursions of years ago. The bus tour also was good because our driver knew island history and had a good sense of humor.
Don't Miss: Seeing how clear the water is. It is beautiful. 6 out of 8 people found this review helpful.

  Great Get Away Weekend by
Anne H. from Los Angeles, CA Sailing date: Dec 2009Pros: Always an activity to participate in Cons: The drinks were priced a little high I've taken Carnival cruises before and they never fail to disappoint me. I enjoy participating in the activities, and there's plenty of them! From trivia games, to shows, to just sitting in a club listening to good music and talking with other passengers, it's the best way to unwind for the weekend. Get on the boat early because you don't want to miss the fabulous buffet lunch and enjoy an afteroon on the boat before it takes off at 5:30. Ship QualityLove the bath robes! I saw people wearing them around the ship. Dining/FoodSo much to choose from. They even had sushi. Stateroom QualityThe rooms are very spacious. We got an inside cabin this time and it was nice and quiet and dark for sleeping in late in the mornings. Ship Staff QualityThe staff is always available to answer questions. Fun Cruise by
Kenneth W. Phillipa from La Quinta, CA Sailing date: Oct 2008Pros: The entertainment was first class Cons: Getting to the terminal, parking, and the long walk to the ship from the terminal The Paradise is a clean and well organized ship. There is a slight learning curve to getting around. The activities are boundless, the food is good, and well-served. The entertainment is spectacular. Each night there is a full Las Vegas quality show, with young, energetic, and attractive performers. The production value is first rate, including staging, lighting, music, and special effects. The orchestra is comparable to Doc Severinsoin's, with only eight multi-talented musicians. All of the acts are of professional quality. The entertainment alone is worth the price of the cruise. The rest of the services are also equally proficient in their delivery. Ship Quality
