Great First Cruise!
by Michael S from Los Angeles, CA
Sailing date:
Sep 2012
Pros:
I liked that on the first day there were employees with "Just Ask" shirts on. They had knowledge of everything on the ship and were very courteous.
Cons:
I did not like the look or feeling i would get when i ordered a soda by using my bottomless soda sticker. Not sure what it was but i am guessing it was because i was getting out of paying the built in 15% gratuity.
VERY Clean. It was also nice to see the staff making sure that everyone had on enough clothing in the dining areas. We will be back with family and friends to have fun on this ship again!
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
HUGE and cleaner than anyone could imagine!
Dining/Food
Stateroom Quality
Room was just fine in size. The TV could have been a little bigger but i guess we did not use it that much anyway!
Ship Staff Quality
Carnival transfers did a wonderful job of getting us to the cruise and a man named ALEX was the most informative and helpful to point out where to go once at the port!
Entertainment & Activities
Lots to do! We never ran out of things to do!
Children's Programs
It did not seem that this was the cruise to bring children on. We will search for a different cruise...maybe a Disney cruise for the children. This was more of an adult party getaway!

Overall, a nice Anniversary Trip
by Vivian F. from Los Angeles, CA
Sailing date:
Sep 2012
Pros:
The shows were fantastic - VERY talented lead male and female singers, wonderful costurmes. The food was generally good. Nice selections.
Cons:
Other Noisy, foul mouthed passengers. also, some of the staff who delivered our continental breakfast did not understand enough English - he failed to bring us another cup for our coffee. Also, I had to call room service three times and wait over 40 minutes for a staff member to come and let down my
The ship was okay - not the grandest. You can tell it's a bit aged. Decor is a bit dated. but everything was very clean. Staff did a good job of cleaning the rooms and other public areas.

Dining/Food
It was fun that a "Did you ever...? feature - it gives you an opportunity to try something new
Stateroom Quality
Room size was okay for two people - but really too small for three or more. I would have liked a small separate table and chair. Vanity was very nice. Bathroom was adequate for the three of us.

Entertainment & Activities
see above - cons. We REALLY enjoyed the Taste of Mexico Excursion - not too tiring, made some great food, relaxing and very informative and enjoyable. Jesus the chef did a great job!

Decent cruise, nothing spectacular
by Ms. B from CA
Sailing date:
Aug 2012
Good fun cruise. Ensenada was not a good stop. City is run down and there wasn't much to do.

Dining/Food
The pizza station which is the only food available for 24 hours was gross. It tasted like $1.00 frozen pizza. The food in the dining room was marginal, but all the desserts were below average. The buffet food was just marginal as well.
Stateroom Quality
Typical stateroom for a cruise. The service was very good though.

Great Time!
by Nicole W from United States
Sailing date:
Aug 2012
Pros:
The food was delicious & the staff was friendly and fun
Cons:
small rooms and expensive drinks ($10 each!)
I had a blast on this mini vacation. The Carnival crew was wonderful (super friendly and fun). The food was delicious and they let you have as much as you wanted (one person in our group ate 6 lobsters one night). The only complaints I have are pretty typical for all cruises (small rooms and very expensive alcoholic beverages).

I love the dance routines at dinner!
Entertainment & Activities
More adult-only shows like the comedy would be great. I like non-family friendly fun :)

Decent but not great
by Carl B. from LV, NV
Sailing date:
Jul 2012
Pros:
Dinner and shows
Cons:
Breakfast, Ensenada and onboard activities
The ship is "typical" Carnival
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Rooms are small, but kept clean. I didn't like the fact that they were working on the ship in various areas to repaint/repair -- this should be done while in port.
Dining/Food
Dinner was the best. The rest of the food was the same day after day and not very good.
Stateroom Quality
For Carnival, it was typical. For 4 people, the room was too small. If you're traveling wih kids or more than 2 adults, get ajoining rooms if possible -- or two rooms.
Ship Staff Quality
The staff was friendly.
Entertainment & Activities
2 shows that were good, the rest of the activities were so-so.
Children's Programs
The kids just didn't dig Camp Carnival this time. Not sure why, but they rarely had an interest in going there.

Enjoyable weekend
by Michael K from Phoenix, az
Sailing date:
Jun 2012
Pros:
Tour guide in Ensenada
Cons:
Sewage smell in the middle of the ship
The Inspriation looked and smelled out dated. The crew was great, but the facilities themselves where just ok.

First Time Cruise
by A Traveler from Phoenix
Sailing date:
May 2012
Pros:
Lots of things to do.
Cons:
The food could have been better.
For a first time cruise, it was great. I brought my 2 teens with me, so the fact that 1/3 of the ship was under 18 was fine.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
You could tell the ship was older, but overall in great shape.
Dining/Food
The food was good, but not anything special. I wish they would have had more variety.
Stateroom Quality
The room was actually bigger than i thought it would be.
Ship Staff Quality
Our waitress was the best!
Entertainment & Activities
I didn't do alot of the activities but overall they seemed nice.
Children's Programs
I never saw my 15 & 17 year old girl. The teen program was awesome.

"A Relaxing Getaway"
by Freya M. from San Francisco, CA
Sailing date:
Jun 2012
Pros:
The Cocktails
Cons:
The food
The ship was a very manageable size to navigate. Not at all intimidating to find your bearings after 3 nights. The cocktails were fantastic, even the inexpensive refill cocktails. The beds were comfortable and I really got some nice rest. Very enjoyable.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Dining/Food
The food was okay. I live in SF so am spoiled with excellent food everywhere. Carnival is known for its party atmosphere and excellent cocktails and it delivered in this department. The food was average...could use some improvement.
Stateroom Quality
Great room service.
Ship Staff Quality
People were very polite and for the most part willing to work to resolve problems or issues. Also kind and thoughtful.
Entertainment & Activities
I only went to the comedy club one night but it was great.

Not a great trip
by A Traveler from Ventura, CA
Sailing date:
Jun 2012
Pros:
Catalina
Cons:
too many to name
The ship felt very used, safe but not in good condition. The bathroom was in need of a deep cleaning and repair. Mold on the ceiling, rough caulking around the entire shower floor like it had been quickly fixed. The window was so dirty you couldn't take pictures out of it.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Layout was fine. Cheesy old school Vegas decor everywhere.
Dining/Food
Food quality was ok. I had higher expectations but it was ok. Great desserts! We were given the late dining time which didn't work for our daughter (10) who wanted to eat with us in the dining room (real food not kids crap). The kids activities were held during this late dining time, I guess so parents could eat without the kids.
Stateroom Quality
Comfortable beds. One of the robes in our room was not clean. I left it on the floor (to be replaced as noted in the room info) but the same dirty robe was hung up every time. Yuck.
Ship Staff Quality
Nice staff but I think they are used to those who are drunk the entire trip.
Entertainment & Activities
Children's Programs
If you want to get rid of your kids for the trip then it might be ok but we wanted family time. Lots of activities had additional fees. Times were odd. Do not pick late dining if your kids want to eat with you.

by JOSIE A. from Manteca, CA
