Key West - Cozumel 4 Days by
Robin S from Grand Rapids, MI Sailing date: Apr 2013Pros: Different ports Cons: Lack of pool space Loved the cruise, the ports, and the food. Calm seas, breeze was nice. We are not big into excursions. Key West - we liked to just walk around and do some shopping and frequent the local watering holes. Cozumel - we didn't leave the shopping village. There was shopping, dining, drinking right within walking distance and even a beach area for relaxing. Free drinks on-board include water, iced & hot tea, lemonade, coffee available all day. Ship QualityAn older well kept ship. Staff is very friendly, courteous and helpful. Dining/FoodLoved the Dining room option for Breakfast and Lunch as well. Hunting for a table in the Cafe can be stressful. We liked being waiting on without worry of losing our table if we got up for anything. Stateroom QualityVery clean, roomy enough for two. Comfy bed. Ship Staff QualityEveryone very helpful and effecient Entertainment & ActivitiesThe shows were fun and entertaining. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

  First time cruising by
A Traveler from NY Sailing date: Mar 2013Pros: Wait staff, room service staff, steam room, entertainment Cons: People who worked at the spa were absolutely UNFRIENDLY, Some of the other staff members were also very mean and unfriendly and unhelpful The ship was very simple. If you're not a simple person you would find it boring. I found it just enough for my friends and I. The entertainment every night was great, hated that smoking was allowed in the casino, had some really awesome waiters in the dining room and very nice wait staff. Ship was clean for the most part, rooms were nice and always cleaned very fast by the amazing and friendly cleaning crew Ship Quality
Dining/FoodI'm really picky but the food was great. Plenty of options in the lunch buffet and dinner every night in the dining room was AWESOME. lots to choose from and very very good Stateroom QualityI shared a room with 5 friends and it was not as bad as I thought it'd be. Beds were SO comfy and the bathroom was more than needed Ship Staff QualityI can't say this for everyone because every waiter and drink waiter we had was off the charts. So welcoming and friendly and so generous, that also goes for the cleaning staff. Everyone else that I came in contact with was pretty unfriendly especially the women in the spa. Very unhelpful, ignored the customers, could care less about assisting us it was just not good. If we ended up in an elevator with a worker, 9 times out of 10 they did not want to talk to us. The shore excursion office was also not the best experience they wanted to just shoo us away Entertainment & Activities

  First Time Cruising by
A Traveler from Florida Sailing date: Feb 2013Pros: entertainment, staff, cleanliness Cons: dining the first day This was my first time on a cruise and I had a wonderful time! The entertainment was great, especially the comedians. The food was decent and I loved that room service was 24 hours.
The only con was the ridiculously long lines to dine on the Lido deck upon boarding.
I will definitely be cruising in the future! Ship Quality

Ship Staff QualityThe housekeeping team is amazing! Entertainment & Activities

A positive "first cruise" experience. by
A Traveler from Chicago, IL Sailing date: Jan 2013Pros: Service and food were excellent. Cons: It's a floating sales pitch. Overall serviceable but could use updating for sure. Ship QualityThe ship itself was old and falling apart, the decor was 1985 Miami Vice meets Donald Trump Vegas brass. Tacky. It was relatively clean and it looks like the bathrooms are being updated, although they never bothered to grout any of the glass tiles in the bathroom so it looks a little dingy in there. It's a small ship but I don't know that that was a drawback; it's my first cruise so I had no basis for comparison. Dining/FoodIf you steer clear of the pizza and burgers and get your meals in the dining rooms the food is very good. Only gave it 4 stars because the buffet was rarely open and when it was you had to push and shove to get anything. Stateroom QualityI was actually really pleased with the size of the stateroom. It was clean and well maintained, bathroom was even laid out really well. Ship Staff QualityI don't know how I could have asked for better service. Entertainment & ActivitiesStage shows were a little cheesy but talent was top notch. Cruise director was warm and funny, some really unique offerings like live band karaoke, and some great comedians put on multiple shows. 2 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

  Not so good by
Laura S. from Illinois Sailing date: Jan 2013Pros: the warm weather Cons: cramped, confined feeling, very loud people in many rooms around us, food quality It was not very impressive Ship Qualitystaterooms were very tiny, public areas were reasonably clean except the bathroom by the pool, it was not very clean when we used it Dining/Foodfood at the restaurant was pretty good however the prime rib that I ordered was very disappointing, oddly the roast sirloin they served prior night at the buffet was much better. Stateroom Qualitytoo small, difficult to feel comfortable Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & Activitiesdid not feel there was very much to do, pool size was very small and inadequate and there should have been more pools. Way too many people for the amount and size of pools. 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

THE BEST FIRST CRUISE EVER by
LaChelle S from Saint Louis, MO Sailing date: Sep 2012Pros: I loved the fact that the staff members on the boat remembered my name & housekeeping was SO WONDERFUL Cons: Really not enough activities to do while out to sea This was my first cruise ever for me & my partner & we had a blast!!! I was nervous at first because I read so many negative comments about excursions & other activities but I guess those were from really hard to please type people. I would suggest booking any & all excursions from Orbitz. I did the dolphin encounter at the Blue Lagoon (deep water). My group size was very small no bigger than 10 people. The dolphin trainers were wonderful. No long walking path like everyone described. Everyone was just very pleasant. Food was ok. I would have liked a bigger selection of food. I would say try a ship with more variety of food. Breakfast was wonderful but I found myself eating kid's food like french fries, chicken strips, & pizza. The 24 hour room service was wonderful too!!! I would suggest for anyone that is going on their first trip to go all out & get you a suite or an oceanview room. We had a junior suite w/balcony & it was wonderful!!! Our housekeeper was so wonderful! He greeted us every morning by name & always told us about events that we might be interested in. If you are pleasant then they will be plesant as well. Overall let's just say I'm rebooking another Carnival cruise for 2013 & 2014!!! THIS IS A MUST DO!!!!!! Ship QualityI didn't think the ship was out dated like some people commented on. Everything looked up to date. The crew did a great job constantly cleaning & making sure things were kept up. Dining/FoodI really didn't care for the food. It was mostly made for children. Breakfast & desserts were awesome though!!! I would suggest more foods for adults. I ended up eating just chicken strips, french fries, & pizza for the most part. I would suggest a boat that has a steak house or something on it. But the fine dining food was excellent. Stateroom QualityWe had a junior suite for our first cruise. If you are going on your first cruise I would not suggest smaller rooms that are located at the bottom of the ship. I would save up for any suite or oceanview room. Our floor was quiet with some exceptions of having fun or course & paryting in the hallways but no excessive noise when sleeping. Bathroom is of course really small & one 1 person at a time. Other than that our room was wonderful. Very clean. The balcony could be just a tad bit bigger for what you pay for a suite w/balcony & it could be a little more private. Ship Staff QualityEveryone was very friendly & always offering help. Entertainment & ActivitiesWe ended up doing most of the activities off the boat while docked at the Bahamas. There was only 2 other boats there once we docked. Not a large group of people. I think they should have the big activities while out to sea instead of when docked on an island. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

Terrible Experience! Nothing for Kids! by
Andy K from Louisville KY Sailing date: Nov 2012Pros: Food Cons: Lies - No activities for 18 mo old. Worst cruise I have ever been on. Customer Service Organization is TERRIBLE!!! They totally misled us! I tried to resolve this with Carnival Customer Relations, but the only resolution I will get is to warn others about Carnival. I would NEVER take a cruise with them again (this was our 5th). They scammed me into bringing (and charging) for my 18mo daughter on this boat. They sold me on the pretext that Camp Carnival and the Pools/Water Areas would be available for her use. On our 3rd day of the cruise we were kicked out of the Water Works are because my daughter was too young. The crew that worked the ship did not even know the rules and had conflicting knowledge of the pool rules. NEVER AGAIN. There are no activities for Children with Carnival...take Disney, Royal Carribean, or NCL! WATCH OUT! I am a loyal customer and they treated me like this. NEVER AGAIN...I am warning others in every manner I can.
Ship QualityShip is small, but nice. Dining/FoodNot a lot of options and it is hit and miss. Desserts were good most of the other food was not. Stateroom QualityWe had a Suite and it was nice. Steward did a good job. Ship Staff QualityCustomer Relations = TERRIBLE, others were good. Entertainment & ActivitiesNothing for kids. Children's ProgramsGet serious....they had nothing to do and lied about what they did have. 10 out of 13 people found this review helpful.
