  Unimpressed by
A Traveler from colorado Sailing date: May 2012Pros: relaxing watching the ocean sail past Cons: food and service at meal time was unimpressive Having only sailed a few times I'd have to say this one left me unimpressed. The ports were great and had a blast taking in all of the local cultures. The ship itself was very well kept up for being an older ship. It was very clean and elegant. The food was really poor compaired to my past cruises on Royal Carribian. small portions and really no service, got the feeling that you were inconvienincing the waiters (when you saw them) to ask for really anything. Did have a bright spot, our housekeepers were wonderful! remembering our names and always greeting us. rooms were kept spotless! all in all not a cruise if you are hoping of great food and all around service. worth the extra money to go elsewhere. Ship Quality
Dining/Foodjust bad all around Stateroom Qualitycozy but its just there to sleep in Ship Staff Qualityhouse keepers really went the extra mile and did a great job. dining staff were unorganized and somewhat rude at times 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

  Awesome Cruise! by
Katherine M from Kansas City, Kansas Sailing date: May 2012Pros: Great food! Awesome shows! Fun deck parties! Drinks are tasty! Energetic & fun staff! Beautiful ship! Cons: I loved it all! This was my first cruise and I would do it all over again. Everything about it was great. We had some bad weather but it didn't matter because the staff's energy and fun guest kept you positive and you were always having fun!I loved all the activities, games and parties. I was always dancing whether it was at club Illusions, out on the party deck, or Latin dancing in the lounge. The stateroom was spacious enough for the two of us and we were always welcomed with cute towel animals. It was great! I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this cruise! Ship Quality

  Awesome Cruise! by
A Traveler from Ashville, OH Sailing date: Apr 2012Pros: Most of the staff were very friendly, the food was really good and something for everyone! Cons: The debarkation process could use a little improvement. Early flights should be permitted to exit first instead of releasing people by the deck they "lived" on for the cruise. We missed our 11:40am flight home because we were not permitted to get off the ship until 10:30am. We docked in the port of Miami at 8am and by the time port authority cleared us to exit the ship it was 9:30am. They release people to exit based on the deck they were "living" on for the weekend. We were on the last floor to be released even though we had what was considered an early flight. We brought this to the attention of the cruise director several times and he assured us that we would have plenty of time to make our flight. We booked our flight and cruise at the same time to help prevent an issue like this, thinking that we surely wouldn't be booked on a flight we couldn't make. By the time we cleared customs and made it to the airport it was 11:25am. Ship Quality

Not the best cruise, but still enjoyable by
Natalie F from Ocala, Florida Sailing date: Apr 2012Pros: The water slides for the kids are wonderful!!!! Cons: Your Time Dining--the staff was not friendly at all! Overall, we enjoyed our cruise. We love the water slides for the kids, and Camp Carnival is great!! Key West and Cozumel are both wonderful! We went parasailing in Key West and had a great time!! Cozumel has the most beautiful water!! We are regular cruisers and will definately do it again!! Ship QualityAs always, the ship is beautiful and very clean! Dining/FoodI enjoyed the new menus with the items that you could get every day and the daily specials. The food is very good and with the new menus there is a big variety to choose from. We were assigned the Your Time Dining which in theory would be a great idea, however the staff did not seem to be happy there at all. Very unfriendly; I hated to ask for anything. And it was difficult to get someone to order a drink. We did have 1 wonderful waitress in that dining room-Bianca from South Africa-she was pleasant, friendly, efficient and very accomodating. I cannot say that about any of the other wait staff, which is very unusual for cruise line staff. Stateroom QualityThis was our first year with an oceanview room. Definately worth the upgrade!!! The kids often kept themselves occupied by sitting on the ledge and looking out the window. Our staterooms were always cleaned when we left, and the staff which was led by Mercurio were very friendly and did a fabulous job. They were so good, we tipped them extra (in addition to what was already taken). Thank you Mercurio!! Ship Staff QualityHad it not been for the crabby staff in the Your Time dining room, this would be the highest rating. Everyone else on board was friendly and accomodating!!
Entertainment & ActivitiesThis wasn't the best cruise for the shows, the singers and dancers in the seemed to be beginners and not of the higher quality that we have seen on other cruises. Maybe these were new shows and they did not quite have them down yet. Children's ProgramsEveryone at Camp Carnival was great to the kids, and except for one time when we had to go back because our 3 year old would not stop crying (she was really tired) our kids really enjoyed going there!!! 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

  Great with one Exception by
Elizabeth W from Charleston WV Sailing date: Apr 2012Pros: Staff Cons: BUFFETS Im very upset that I qualified early in the week for my free drink card at the casino and even asked about it and never received it until 1100 pm the LAST night of the cruise when a gentleman came over apologizing that they could never catch me to give it to me. They knew my room number and could have delivered it to my room as they did the CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES for being a VALUED PLAYERS CLUB MEMBER.. I spent almost 700.00 on BEER on this cruise and over half of that was AFTER i earned my free drink card and could have just went to the casino and got my drinks instead of paying for them. I think this is very poor service Ship Quality

  Spring Break 2012 Cruise by
Lisa M. from St. Louis, MO Sailing date: Mar 2012Pros: Very friendly staff, good food, lots to do Cons: It was all good We booked a junior suite because we were taking our 14-year-old and also because we wanted a balcony. We had plenty of space, although the balcony was too small to use for much. Our room cleaning crew was outstanding--friendly, thorough, and helpful. My husband lost his SIM card and although we looked everywhere and couldn't find it, once I alerted Nicole she assured me that they would find it, and they did. We left a nice tip in addition to the required tip because we were so impressed with Nicole and her crew. The excursions were excellent and we participated in onboard activities like a short scrapbooking session (some materials provided for free) the Scattergories tournament and the Brain Teaser game, as well as ping pong, mini golf, and the bean bag toss. I got up early one morning and was surprised to see the pool completely emptied and being scrubbed and repaired. By opening time it was full of sparking salt water and ready for another day of swimming! We chose Your Time Dining and didn't have to wait for a table, even on the night of formal dining. We only dined there twice, though, because we noticed that many of their menu items were also on the Lido deck buffet. Even though it was spring break and there were lots of young adults on the cruise, we didn't encounter any offensive behavior, yet they all seemed to be having a great time. It was our second Carnival cruise and they've definitely improved since our cruise 13 years ago! Ship QualityThe ship is slightly dated but is well-maintained and kept extremely clean. Dining/FoodMy husband and son were expecting better food. I was thrilled with all the choices! Plus someone else did the shopping, cooking, serving, and cleaning up!!! It's slightly better than going to a buffet restaurant, but definitely not fine dining. Stateroom QualityWe were in V42, a junior suite. It was roomy enough for three adult-size people. It was clean and comfortable; the decor was dated, the bathroom was adequate (toilet, sink, shower), and the location was excellent. Ship Staff QualityFrom the buffet staff to the ship's captain everyone was helpful and friendly. We purchased the unlimited soft drink option for our 14-year-old son, and the only complaint I have is that the bartenders sometimes ignored him at the bar (the only place to get a soda). I realize bartenders work for tips, but how long does it take to serve a Mr. Pibb? Entertainment & ActivitiesLots of shows and games and options for kids, adults, and older adults. We used the library to play cards anytime it was too windy to play outdoors. It was a very windy trip, so we used it several times. Very nice option! 3 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

  Worst Vacation Ever! by
Matt R. from Elkhart, IN Sailing date: Feb 2012Pros: Nothing! Cons: Where do I start? The ship was old. The food was mediocre. Many of the staff were rude. And my wife got injured on the first night of the cruise and ended up in a wheelchair and on pain medication the entire trip. Ship QualityNot at all impressed. Old. Dining/FoodCafeteria food quality. Stateroom QualityThe only positive was our room steward, who took good care of us. Ship Staff QualityMany of the servers were rude, especially if you weren't ordering alcohol. Medical staff was very un-sympathetic when my wife was injured. Entertainment & ActivitiesNothing to write home about. 0 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

  Small, but really fun by
Epifanio Jimenez from Miami, FL Sailing date: Mar 2012Pros: small, friendly, fun Cons: rooms The Carmival Imagination looks small on the outside compared to other ships. But I found this good. Because you get to learn the insides very quickly and also makes up for great random encounters with people you met aboard the cruise.
The rooms, were a tiny bit smaller than I was expecting, but it's understandable, since it's a cruise... Ship QualitySmall ship, but that's a good thing in my book. Dining/FoodDifferent food every day, with an extra all days menu. Very good and different! Stateroom QualitySmall ship = small rooms. Ship Staff QualitySuper friendly, you get to see them a lot throughout the ship. Entertainment & ActivitiesGood schedule, good shows, lots of laughs in the adult comedy shows. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

Good times while learning cruises by
Jay P from philly PA Sailing date: Mar 2012Pros: The amount of activties. Most of the food. Friendlyness of staff Cons: Condition of ship. Eating arrangements, Non included cost The ship itself was nice overall. With that being said, it is almost 20 years old and showing its age. Repairs are needed and routine maintance is required. Some of the stuff was outdated. Our room the bathroom sink was rattling, the bathroom fan was broken and was across from the laundry area which always seems to smell bad. Ship QualitySize was huge. Took most of trip to learn where everything was located. Layout was neat. Public areas were nice and well kept. Decor is little dated. Dining/FoodQuality of food was decent. Not a 4 star food option but not bad either. There were a few choices for food. But mostly they all involved the buffet area. Dinning times and assgined seating times stunk. Ambiance was ok little dated. Stateroom QualitySize was ok for a ship. Comfort was good. Condition of stateroom was sad. Paid for upgrade of window cabin and the window was so dirty we could not see out of it. The tv remote was broken on first day check in. The bathroom sink rattled. The bathroom fan was broken. The laundry area was across the hall and smelled the entire cruise. Ship Staff QualityVery friendly. Always tried to help where they could. Remembered names on first day. Willing to do most things to help. Entertainment & ActivitiesTons to do. Event card provided daily. Some fun things overlapped though. Good times. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.
