Our first cruise by
Amy D. from Duncansville, PA Sailing date: Nov 2012Pros: relaxing watching the world slide by Cons: the food was just ok The ship is on the small side, and one of the older of the fleet. The crew is extremely wonderful and helpful. The food was ok, it was edible, but nothing to write home about. There was a lot to do the first few days but then a lot of nothing it seemed like the last 3. Ship Quality

  A relaxed vacation. by
A Traveler from philadelphia, pa Sailing date: Jul 2012Pros: plenty of lounge chairs, the adult only section, the friendly staff Cons: the food was horrible. We were impressed with the size of the ship and the room onboard. But very disappointed by the food and lack of entertainment. They seemed to push a lot of Bingo and other activities that not many people attended. Ship QualityThe Pride was always clean and the entire staff was on top of everything! They were awesome. Dining/FoodThe food was the same every day. A good portion was diet items.
My wife and I weren't fond of anything they served....and I love food.
The food I actually liked was the roomservice food. Stateroom Qualitythe size was good; the overall comfort was good; but the bathroom smelled like sewer and the bed was very hard. We both had back pain after day 1.
Ship Staff QualityThe staff was awesome. Especially our stateroom steward. he was awesome!
Entertainment & ActivitiesI didn't feel there was enough entertainment offered on this ship like we experienced with another cruise line. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

The staff was Great but trip lacking. by
Chris P. from Clio,MI Sailing date: May 2012Pros: The staff and the ports of call. Cons: two tropical storms, the food, and price of drinks. The ship was nice. The decor was great and the staff were excellent. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodThe food was not that great at all. Most times it was cold and or just lacked any flavor. Stateroom QualityStateroom is fine. Your mostly sleeping there anyways. Ship Staff QualityThe staff was friendly. Our cruise directors were excellent with Jay and Jamie. They really tried hard to make everyone have fun. Our last port call was canceled due to Tropical Storm Bearle so they were really pressed. Also they kept people active and calm with the 15foot waves. The Captain made the right call by skipping the last port. He put the safety of the passengers ahead of everything else. He was a great captain. Entertainment & ActivitiesWell since we missed freeport we didn't have any comedians. So we got bored quickly. The shows were aimed at older people. I think it depends on your age. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

  An OKAY cruise by
Robert T from Mullica Hill NJ Sailing date: Apr 2012Pros: The weather Cons: No control on the kids The staff was very friendly. The waiter was the clowest that I ever had in 6 cruises. He did have a great personallity and his assistant was great. The shows were just okay compared to other cruises. Out of my 6 cruises 5 of them were with Carnival and 1 was Royal Carribean. The Royal Carribean was the most relaxing. I had a bad experience the last 2 times that I cruised with carnival but wanted to give them one more try. This time was no different. I appreciate the fact that it is called the fun ship and they let the kids be kids however they do not have any control on the kids at all. They let them run up and down the hallways all night. My children are 18 and 20 now. I took them on many cruises when they were younger and never let them do what theses kids were doing. Its mostly the parents fault. They use the ship as a babysitter. Just cut the kids loose and see you at dinner. Totally out of control with the kids. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodEnjoyed most of the food. Waiter was slow. We were in the dining room for over two hours every night and missed shows because of that. Stateroom QualityTelephone was broke for the first 2 days. We brought it to our attendants attention as soon as we entered our room. They never switched out our towels one night. but overall experience was okay. Ship Staff Quality

  good cruise by
A Traveler from New York, NY Sailing date: Jan 2011Pros: the upper decks Cons: food, swimming pools The cruise is a nice one, enough food, polite crew, efficient service, clean room.
There are about 4 jacuzzi pools and 2 swimming pools, but the swimming pools are just too small, nobody would really like to go inside, and they are too deep for young kids. These pools aret therefore a waste.
Gym close too early at 8pm.
Food is ok, but no too much change over the week. only two or three dishes in the Normandi Restaurant really tasted wonderful, most were just so so altough I believe the chiefs tried their best to serve the people. The Asian food corner is too small with 2 choices + rice + noodle + soup.
no movie night, no too much entertainment on board, the shows in the nights were boring, except the hypnosis show which is fantastic.
In general, with the price, the provided by Carnival Pride is fine, although I think there is room to improve and the price could be a little higher. Ship Quality
Dining/Foodconvenient, but not too many varieties, no juice Ship Staff Qualityvery nice and polite crew & staff Entertainment & Activitiesvery limited. You'd better take with yourself some DVD movies and video games to kill time
Collapse List of Ports
Freeport, Grand Bahama Islandseems nothing is there? you should get on a taxi to drive you somewhere else to see something
Don't Miss: you can skipthis port. nothing really worthy of paying time here Nassau, Bahamasinformation is not as available as port canaveral. until you visited then you know how to deal with those things. You actually do not need to book the ship's shore excursion and you can get off the ship and find one by yourself. All are directly availabe at the gate and the price is flat and very reasonable. The people there are also very nice
Don't Miss: the sea and the beach, the water is just beautiful Port Canaveral, Floridaeverything here is very convenient.
Avis, Hertz, Enterprise are all nearby and free shuttles every 15 mintues between the port and the car rental services
Don't Miss: rent a car and visit points of interest instead of using the provided "shore excursion" 1 out of 6 people found this review helpful.

  Okay Cruise by
A Traveler from Pennsylvania Sailing date: Jan 2011Pros: Shows and ship staff Cons: The food This was our 4th cruise and our first on Carnival. I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the ship and the size of the staterooms. There are so many public spaces that the ship never seemed crowded. All the staff - from the Cruise Director to the Dining Room staff and the Stateroom Stewards were wonderful.
The shows at night were the best I have seen on a ship, and the the show production and singers were top notch.
The biggest letdown for us was the food. Everything was lukewarm and most meals were bland with little flavor. If you ate at the buffet for dinner there were few choices compared to the buffets on NCL and Princess. Ship Quality

Not as good as last year by
Peg T. from York, PA Sailing date: Mar 2010Pros: Fine job keeping kids entertained, especially considering inclement weather Cons: We traveled at 12 knots during the cold and rain, 24 knots in the warm and sunny weather, I still think the Carnival Pride is a great ship and would probably sail again -- only never outside of summer. We sailed in March and it was cold, windy, and rainy all the way down to the Bahamas.
Considering that all the outside decks were closed on several different occasions, I think Carnival should have offered discounted or even free drinks at times or something else to offset the impact.
I sailed on the Pride last June -- the food and food/drink service was definitely not as good this time. Ship QualityGreat ship, love all the balconies. Very clean. Dining/FoodI sailed on the Pride last June -- the food and food/drink service was definitely not as good this time. The beef especially was not good quality. Stateroom QualityExcellent! Ship Staff QualityMost were excellent -- dining was disappointing. Entertainment & ActivitiesGreat! Children's ProgramsI didn't have kids aboard, but they sure seemed to keep the kids that were aboard occupied. 2 out of 3 people found this review helpful.
