Catalina Island, Ensenada by
Brad H from San Diego, CA Sailing date: Apr 2009Pros: Cabin was very nice Cons: Food and seating in the main dining was terrible. Eaten better at buffet. Elevator service was horrid, they would go right on by you most of the time. Kids everywhere, and I do mean EVERYWHERE. Most activities were planned for late night, like 11:00pm I do mean EVERYWHERE. Most activities were planned for late night, like 11:00pm Ship QualityCouldn't see out windows clearly at all Dining/FoodBetter food at a casino buffet. Every night our order was wrong and came out at different times. Our table must have been in the main thoroughfare since the waiters constantly ran into us. Breakfast was something else. Ham omelet with ham that tasted spoiled and it took three seperated trips to get my order Stateroom Quality
Ship Staff QualityMost of the staff were friendly enough except for in the Duty Free store. They were very rude Entertainment & ActivitiesShows were late starting, looked as if they practiced for about 15 minutes. Had two show times and would have Bingo right before the second show so all of the seats were taken an hour before. The various musical "entertainers" found throughout the ship couldn't carry a tune in a bucket with both hands. Every song sounded like every other song PROVIDED that you could understand the words and they could remember what they were

Ensenada, MexicoThe Gold Coast Tour is a waste. You get on a bus, drive 5 minutes to the Cultural Center for about 1/2 hour, then drive up the coast for ab out 1 hour to a restaurant that tries to rip you off by selling you food valued at 12 dollars for 16.50. Then you ride back to the ship.
Catalina Island, CaliforniaNice place but the shops open late
Don't Miss: Definitely should do the Inland Tour 3 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

  Worst vacation experience. by
Beth from Tampa, FL Sailing date: Mar 2007Pros: Dining room staff. Our stateroom was not cleaned consistently. The first several hours of the trip our stateroom had a foul odor (of the bathroom nature). Many of the staff were pleasant especially the dining room staff however we encountered more rude people than pleasant especially during debarkation. We will never take this cruise line again. Grand Turk Island
Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Cruiseline Private Island)Half Moon Cay-Highlight of cruise.
Beautiful and relaxing.
Nassau, BahamasNassau is dirty.
Locals were extremely rude and unfriendly even in the shops. Shopping was ridiculous because they were attempting to sell used and knock-off merchandise as genuine. I was insulted by their blatant deception. Locals made inappropriate comments to me as I was walking down the street. My fiance was extremely unhappy.

Cruise or Not to Cruise? by
A Traveler from United States Sailing date: Jan 2013Pros: Ability to try new things Cons: Lack of time, being offered a drink every 15 minutes (even in formal dining area) Clean and spacious cabin
Clean Ship
Entertaining and friendly staff Ship QualityI expected ship to be bigger but layout made all areas easily accessible. Decor was a little dated but it was very clean. Dining/FoodBuffet area food was comparable to Ponderosa; frozen taste to pizza and desert stale. Formal dining was better with different options and give you a chance to try new things Stateroom QualityCabins very clean, spacious, and comfortable Ship Staff QualityStaff very helpful, friendly, and entertaining. Helped us find our 14 year old daughter who forgot she still had rules to abide by. Thank you. Entertainment & ActivitiesLots of things to do on board just wish entertainment on Lido deck would of continued later. Weather was perfect for raggae music, dancing, and a drink in hand. Children's ProgramsSet ground rules for teenagers, my daughter was bored in the camp and decided to do her own thing. The first night she forgot she still had rules and went off with her friends. Took us and the crew 2-3 hours to find her. Kids 12-14 can leave camp when they feel like it. I don't like that. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

Ship Staff Qualityall staff members we encountered were friendly and helpful. Entertainment & ActivitiesThe Lido deck was a bit quiet for a fun ship. The show dancers were good and the karoke was entertaining...Im just sayin... 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

  5 night western Caribbean by
A Traveler from El Paso Tx Sailing date: Aug 2012Pros: Cozumel Cons: Progresso I have to say that the ship is very nice, clean and comfortable. Some of the staff however were not as helpful or as outgoing as I would have expected. I treid not to but i kept comparing this cruise to a Disney Cruise I took and hands down the disney cruise was much better. I have decided that if i ever do cruise again, it wont be with Carnival. Also, the excursion to Merida was a waste of time. The locals were bad talking the guests (they didnt know I could understand them) and said that if they were not spending money they should just leave. So i would skip that port, or just stay on the boat. Overall on a scale of 1 -10 i would give this cruise and Carnival a 4 maybe a 5. Ship QualityVery nice beautiful ship. Dining/FoodThe food was not what i expected, i kept comparing the service and the food to a Disney Cruise i took a few years back and Carnival just did not measure up. Stateroom Quality
Ship Staff QualityThere are a few staff members such as Guest Services that are really outgoing and service oriented. While others seem as if they are doing me a favor by being there. Almost no smiles, no good mornings, overall the staff is not very friendly Entertainment & Activities

  Great for the Price by
A Traveler from New Orleans, LA Sailing date: May 2012Pros: The food and service Cons: The activities I had a great time with a large group of friends. If I had been with fewer people however - it would have been on the boring side. There wasn't much to do on board and excursions were a must as there was little to do in either port.
To book excursions, do it ahead of time and through orbitz. You will save a lot of money. Ship Quality

  We had a ball by
A Traveler from Gloucester, VA Sailing date: Feb 2012Pros: The food - it was A#1. I was never disappointed. Cons: The library was taken up by a group almost the whole cruise. Don't they have meeting rooms? The ship itself was average, but the crew was great and the food superb. The customer service desk always had the information we needed. Ship Quality
Dining/Food
Stateroom QualityWe were shown 2 single beds online, but had a single bed and a bunk (we are 60+). They did remedy this for us, however. Ship Staff Quality

Cozumel, Mexicowe did an all inclusive resort, decent beach, nice resort and bartender
Progreso (Merida), Mexicowould not suggest progreso but we did do an excursion not through the cruise, very inexpensive. Once we got to the port we jus got off the ship and there are several groups doing them. You can also negotiate the price.
