Cruise from HELL!! by Josh H from San Diego
Sailing date: Aug 2009

Pros:
Nothing

Cons:
The fact that they changed our destination, or the fact that your meals are HORRIBLE, I WILLL NEVER GO ON ANOTHER CRUISE AGAIN!!! THANK YOU CARNIVAL

We were supposed to go to Cabo, granted there was a hurrican which I understand them changing the destination. BUT, I would have liked the opportunity to get my money back and just not go on the trip. They knew before we went we were not going to Cabo so instead after everyone gets on the ship and we take off they announce that we are going to go to Catalina Island and Encinada instead. If I wanted to go on that trip that is what I would have booked instead of Cabo. The meals were the same everyday for breakfast and lunch. You get your option of water, OJ, or tea for breakfast and lunch, everything else is at a extra charge. The only thing to do on the boat is drink and gamble which I REALLY like to do, but not the whole time. They had other really stupid activities like the hairy chest contest, the bean bag toss, there version of american idol., IT WAS PATHETIIC> DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

WASTE OF MONEY !!!!! by lizi from San Diego
Sailing date: Mar 2009

Pros:
NOTHING

This cruise doesn't even rate a happy face from our experience and it wasn't what we consider a family cruise we would take children on. I felt bad for the families who had small children there. The crew is all smiles when you get on the ship but it was down hill from there... the food was horrible, a frozen tv dinner had more flavor... most of the crew couldn't answer any questions about where anything was located on the ship much less give directions on how to get there, it was disgusting on how staff pushed alcohol... shame on the cruise line for having contests to see what waiter could sell the most, ALL HAIL SPRING BREAK !!!! ... college kids everywhere, drunk out of their minds.. come aboard, we're glad to have you, here, have another drink. Not only was the service lacking in all aspects, the college kids were out of contol !!! Afight among drunk college kids took place outside our room, staff stood by and took no action, no ship security came. Half the time staff was joining in on their "fun" laughing the whole while. Partying, screaming and yelling up and down the hall all night long. It was like running the gauntlet to go from our room to the elevators with all the people in the hall. This is not an exxageration either!!! Fun ship???? Not for us...It was torture for 3 days and we couldn't get off the ship fast enough. The best thing about this experience was seeing the ship in our rearview mirror as we left the parking lot.

For lovers of fast-food and boozing by A Traveler from Lansing, Michigan
Sailing date: Mar 2012

Pros:
great service

Cons:
the obnoxious drunks, and most of the food was worse than bad fast-food

On the whole, the crowd that goes on these cruises appears to mostly be loud, obnoxious young men and women looking to get drunk, gamble, and hook up. This was during spring break season, though. I saw a boy who could not have even been eighteen years old so drunk that he dropped a mixed drink glass over a ledge to shatter on the floor below. Luckily, no one was standing there. The cruise was constantly pushing alcoholic drinks on everyone, and announcing drink specials. There were some families with children there as well, which helped balance things out. There were several "deals" offered by the cruise that were misleading, and almost con-like, such as their pricing scheme and discounts for buying photographs and internet minutes. These and many other aspects of this cruise felt almost insulting to an average person's taste and intelligence. I would never cruise with Carnival again.

Ship Quality
The ship decor was dated, loud, and glittery - quite literally like a carnival. The ship felt very small and crowded after a few days. It was hard to find an empty chair to lay out on, a lot of the time. The music was far too loud in the open deck up top. Annoying elevator style music was played in a few other public areas. The gym was decent, but there were only a handful of exercise classes at odd hours.

Dining/Food
The "formal" sit-down breakfast and dinner were pretty good, but the food served at all other times of the day in the all-day dining cafeteria was nearly inedible. It was clear they used the cheapest ingredients possible, and were aiming to an audience that likes bad pizza (worse than Dominos) and hamburgers (worse than most fast-food restaurants). The "omelettes" they made in the morning came from a carton, were drowned in oil, and the guy who cooked them would handle dirty items and "clean" his hands by washing water over them for one second and then drying them on a dirty cleaning towel.

Stateroom Quality
The worst part of the cruise, other than the food served 24/7 in the cafeteria, was the lack of ventilation in the "state rooms"/cabins, and even in some public areas. We smelled cigarette smoke and what smelled like raw sewage fumes wafting through the air on several occasions. Other than that, the state rooms were clean and relatively spacious.

Ship Staff Quality
On the plus side, everyone who worked on the ship was fairly nice and friendly. They are hired from all parts of the world. The staff were forced to do embarrassing, long dances every night at dinner, though, under obnoxious flashing lights. We felt bad for them.
This vessel has a 1 star ratingThis vessel has a 1 star ratingThis vessel has a 1 star ratingThis vessel has a 1 star ratingThis vessel has a 1 star rating
Entertainment & Activities
The entertainment was extremely low brow, featuring a "hairy chest context" and a "mixed drink contest". They played the same films over and over again on the television, so there was not much entertainment to be found their either, except by watching local tv stations.

"Lack-luster cruise" by Brittany H from Nashville, TN
Sailing date: Jan 2012

Pros:
The ports had many fun and reasonably priced activities located outside of the ship.

Cons:
The customer service on board was horrible.

Overall, we were disappointment by this trip. The ship was outdated and poorly kept up. The staff was unfriendly and made everyone feel like they were in trouble. I have been on two other cruises before and had never had a poor experience like this. We have decided to either cruise with a different cruise line or try an all inclusive resort for next years trip.

The ship was smaller and outdated compared to others I have been on. The hottubs were always luke warm. When requesting several times to increase the temperature, we were told to ask "so and so" the next day, which turned into a while goose chase.

Dining/Food
The food at the buffett was not good. Old baked goods, wilted veggies, and fruit that was too ripe to eat. The food was often times not prepared at the right temperater. I tried the potatoes a couple times to find them crunch and ordered a medium rare stake that came out well, well done. Overall, the food tasted like it had either been stored for way to long or not long enough.

When I had booked the cruise, we were told that we would be in a suite with 2 lower beds, 1 upper bed, a pull out couch and a rollaway for me and my four friends. We were placed in a room that not only didn't fit that description at all, but were given a childs size roll away. In addition, we were only given two robes, two bath towels, and 4 beach towels. Each time we asked for more towels for the 5 of us, they would sneer at us.

Ship Staff Quality
The ship staff was not friendly at all. Unless we were ordering alcohol, the staff was extremely short with us. After a hot and busy day in cozumel, we asked for five glasses of water and were sneered at. In addition, the casino staff did there best to make everyone feel uncomfortable. The ship "security" make everyone feel like they were in trouble. We went to the "night club" one night and they made everyone feel so uncomfortable that nobody was dancing. Not the "fun ship" that they advertise. The only friendly service we recieved was from our head server in the evening dining.

A Little Disappointment by Morris C from Atlanta, GA
Sailing date: Dec 2010

Pros:
Nice Staffs & clean room

Cons:
All others

This is our 3rd time w/ Carnival but 1st time from Mobile. The port is nice located. It is very easy to get in /out for driving. The parking deck is only several steps away & very convience. The terminal staffs are well trained & evrything is smooth & organizing. The staffs on the ship are also very nice & helpful (very quick). The room is nice & clean. However, all else like foods, entertament, organization, and so on are lower than our expectation. We mean to compare w/ our previous Carnival experiences even not w/ other cruise lines.

An Eh Cruise by Nathan P from Little Rock, IA
Sailing date: Aug 2010

Pros:
Dining Room Waiter and Stateroom Steward

Cons:
Everything else

The ship was overcrowded. Pizza was the only thing that was open 24hrs; and they were not accommodating at all. We have a tomato allergy and they refused to make a sauceless pizza for us. If it wasn't for our head waiter and steward, our cruise would have been a bust.

Sailing date: Aug 2010

Pros:
Cheap

Cons:
Entertainment, Childcare Staff, Food

Ship was in great shape for age. Our stateroom was spacious for 2 adults and 3 children. Our room was always cleaned at our convenience. Was highly disappointed in the quality of the main dining food. The choices were hardly varied and look as if it was prepared 5 hours before and heated prior to being served. The Childcare staff and quality of entertainment was below adequate.
