Caveat Emptor by
PeterP from Boston Sailing date: Mar 2013Pros: Weather/Cabin Cons: Food, the knowledge of the crew/staff My cabin R207 was clean and comfortable our stewart Yogi was great!!
However, the food was aweful, lack of creativeness, cold, old and the service was fair at best...
Another problem is Carnival just doesn't enforce any rules! people come half dressed to the dining room w/tee shirts and flip flops! Another issue was the crew knows nothing about the ports that we sailed into ? nor do they know in which direction to point us if we have an issues on the ship! Another thing is tips are included in everything you do!! any they always have their hand out for more!! I would not recommend!! Ship Quality
Stateroom QualityYogi is a great Stewart Ship Staff Quality

  Average to below average by
BB from Washington, DC Sailing date: Dec 2012Pros: Very clean Cons: Boring Compared to other two cruises I've been on this was my least favorite one. The restaurant staff did not look very happy but was very aggressive when trying to sell alcohol. The pool was the size of a bigger bath tub and always packed with children - not sure why they even bother mentioning it.
Cabin staff was nice and the rooms and other areas were clean. The food good but fairly limited in variety. Ship QualityVery retro decor. Aging ship. Very clean tho. Dining/FoodGood food. Not too much variety. Very aggressive wait staff. Stateroom QualityVery clean. Ship Staff QualityCabin, spa, and other staff were good, but I am still bothered how aggressive the restaurant staff was. For example, when asked for a glass of wine, they tried to sell a bottle, which is OK if you politely deny, but then they ask again in a very commanding tone, and again, and again...
The staff did not really look happy. They were professional, but tired and overworked. Entertainment & ActivitiesThe entertainment was high quality but very limited. There is a lot of down time on a four night cruise. Yes, I wanted downtime where I could relax at the pool or somewhere else, but the pool was tiny and packed with children. Serenity area was a nice touch if it wasn't packed 24/7 and had only two hot tubs. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

This cruise left me wanting by
Lynn D. from Bismarck, ND Sailing date: Mar 2013Pros: Our wait staff and room stewards were excellent Cons: Communication of activities on-board was poor This was my 3rd cruise with Carnival. The ship, though older, was clean and easy to get around. Our wait staff and room stewards were excellent. I missed the entertainment that had been on other Carnival cruises. I realized later that there was some entertainment, but the communication of it was poor and the timing of the entertainment required you to decide to eat or be entertained. My previous experience with Carnival was entertainment was offered twice per night so both dining times could see the show. I also think charging gratuities in the store for candy and such is over the top as I am already paying a gratuity for the ship each day.
I have gambled throughout the US and found the tables on the Carnival Ecstasy (Mar 16 21) were tight and the staff less than friendly. I also found the minimum bid requirements too high for my liking. Remember guys, if people want to bet more...they will. This is probably why a lot of the tables were dead or low attendance. The slots machines were tight as well and the minimum for the lines was set so you HAD to play at least 2 coins per line. I did like the no-smoking areas for the slots, but it could use a bit more enforcement of the policy.
I really enjoyed our stop in Key West. We got in at noon and stayed until 8. That was the right amount of time to take in an excursion and still have time to appreciate the area and the shopping.
I hope you decide to return to a guest appreciation agenda. When I get ready to book my next cruise, I will be looking for proof that you want to provide me with a relaxing and entertaining cruise. Ship QualityThe public areas were kept clean and were enjoyable. I really liked the Serenity area Dining/FoodThe dining room food selection was okay. However, the Lido deck was without much thought or flavor. Stateroom QualityRoom was clean and the room steward was excellent Ship Staff QualityThought everyone was friendly and usually wore a smile. Entertainment & ActivitiesOther than drinking and gambling, the entertainment was wanting. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.
