Great cruise
by Paul C from Oceanside, CA
Sailing date:
Oct 2012
Pros:
Many things
Cons:
Booking through Orbitz.com
This was a typical Carnival cruise. We are seniors, and Carnival appeals to a younger crowd. However, we did enjoy ourselves. The Destiny is an older ship. Biggest turn-off was rust in the bathroom.

Cruise was nice.
by Donna W from Pocahontas, AR
Sailing date:
Sep 2012
Pros:
The rest I got while I was on the ship.
Cons:
The shows.....Been on 3 cruises and it was the same shows.
The ship is getting dated and the air was poor in the halls. The service was great. Our steward was wonderful.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Our room was very clean and I felt that the ship was clean.
Dining/Food
The food was good in the main dinning area, but I think that the food in the buffets were so so.
Stateroom Quality
our room was great and very comfortable
Ship Staff Quality
I think the help was wonderful on the ship. Everyone was very nice and worked very hard to make our trip nice.
Entertainment & Activities
I really think the ships need to change it up. For a first timer it would be great, but for those of us who have been on a few cruises. It would be nice to see something different,
Children's Programs
I think that Carnival tries to make sure they have activities for all ages.

A Great Cruise!
by Elise B from Newnan, GA
Sailing date:
Sep 2012
Pros:
The private island, and food
The private island was the best, no pressures to shop. Could shop at the other 2 islands if you needed to. The food was better than other ships I've been on. The comedy club was very entertaining and the dancing shows were very good. There seemed to be a toilet issue but it appeared they were working on it to make it better. Overall this was a great trip!
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
The ship is a little older but they were constantly cleaning it which made me feel good about it.
Dining/Food
The food in the dining room was the best. The service was excellent and the staff was great! The buffet was also open at very convenient times and offered good food!
Stateroom Quality
The size of the room was average. It provided everything we needed. The staff was very nice and knew our names every time we saw him. The bed was confortable. The toilet didn't always work right away though, which they appeared to be working on and there was a weird smell further down at the back of the ship.
Ship Staff Quality
The staff was very friendly especially the housekeeping and dining staff. Guest services was ok but they did not know the answer to my question and appeared to be a trainee.
Entertainment & Activities
The comedian they had in the comedy club was very entertaining. The shows were very high quality and entertaining as well. The guest interaction shows were also entertaining. They had a good variety of options and things to do during the day and evening.

Great cruise, but ship needs repairs
by YFF from Coral Gables, FL
Sailing date:
Aug 2012
Pros:
The spa, the gym, our balcony, the food, the bedding, and the very professional and friendly crew.
Cons:
The ship was somewhat dirty and very smelly. Needs cleaning and repairs to the source of the AUFULL smell.
The food was excellent, lots to choose from to control your weight, as well as to gain for those who love to indulge. There was delicious low calories food. The service was superb; the crew was very professional, respectful and friendly. EXCELLENT! The beds and pillows were first class. Did not miss our wonderful ComfortPedic adjustable beds. We also loved our balcony as we were able to enjoy the sounds of the waves without all the fuss and noise on the veranda. I particularly loved the gym. It was empowering to exercise overlooking the ocean. The equipment is first class, clean and in top condition. My husband enjoyed the massages in the spa. The children activities were also excellent. Having said all that, the ship was pretty smelly to the point that during the safety exercise everyone had to cover their faces. I had to put perfume on my hands and still smelled the odor. It seems that there is a problem with the sewage. I sometimes felt the smell in our bathroom. The ship was also somewhat dirty. The balcony glass needs to be cleaned.

I would say excellent if it were not because of the bad odors (like sewage) and the dirty glass in our stateroom's balcony.

Pros:
the service was excellent...the boat was really clean...the food was good...there was a lot to do on the boat
Cons:
the pools were small and overcrowded
The ship was really big. The staff kept it very clean and were willing to do whatever it took to keep you satified. The food on the boat was excellent both at the buffets and the dining hall. Would definately recommend this ship.

A Dirty Cruise
by Tikesha Godchaux from New Orleans, La
Sailing date:
Jul 2012
Pros:
The courteous staff
Cons:
Ship was very dirty
This was our second cruise and we were sadly disappointed. Our cabin was quite dirty upon arival and the ship overall seemed in need of a good cleaning. I would highly recommend the Royal Caribbean Cruise line, which was much nicer, more professional, and we did not have one thing to complain about!
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Dining/Food
There was not a variety f food offered. The same food was rotated to various restaurants on the ship.
Stateroom Quality
Cabin was a nice size but it was dirty!
Ship Staff Quality
I didn't find the customer service reps. to be very friendly and they had a very hard time understanding English.
Entertainment & Activities
Nothing to do at night and for adults there was very liitle variety of entertainment!

Absolutely wonderful cruise!!!
by Merritt D from West Palm Beach, FL
Sailing date:
May 2012
Pros:
The service, room, and dining experience.
Cons:
activities
Ms. Anita Andelic and Chefs made sure we received the best service during our dining experience. Our steward, Jean, took time to make our room look so special and clean. Our waiters, Jose and Anthony, both took time to ask about our day and showed sincere appreciation of us dining with them. The ship was clean and maintained (hard to do with so many guests on board!) Activities were few. We would have liked to enjoy more family activities that were not offered.
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Decor was outdated, but all areas were clean and well maintained.
Dining/Food
We have special needs due to severe food allergies. We truly expected to not eat on the cruise and packed our own necessities. We were surprised on the willingness from all the Chef's and staff to make sure we enjoyed a wonderful dining experience. Amazing staff!
Stateroom Quality
Decor was outdated. Size of room for comfortable and bed was roomy. When cruising on the Destiny, we would book same location. Condition of stateroom was clean and met our needs. Room was quiet except for the staff setting up chairs in the morning on the deck above us (we were in room 1017 Spa Deck).
Ship Staff Quality
Absolutely perfect! Again, we cannot thank the crew enough for making our dining safe (we trusted) and delicious! Even the Chef in the pizzaria made us a special dough, so we could come and order at our leisure.
Entertainment & Activities
Appreciated having the next day's schedule on our bed. Easy to follow and diverse options. We suggested more activities available. For example, an activity scheduled was "laser tag". Great activity...but only one time. We could not participate at this time. More times and more activities....

Carnival Destiny
by Mark M. from United States
Sailing date:
Apr 2012
Pros:
The Layout is the same as other Carnival ships making it easy to get around. The food is excellent and plentiful. The wait staff and cabin guy were very attentive.
Cons:
The hot tubs were not hot enough. Were expecting more stage dancing and shows.
To many interrupting announcements trying to sell onboard services!
Ship Details:
Ship Quality
Everything was very clean.
Dining/Food
The food was indredible. The wait staff was the best. I liked trying the chilled cherry and strawberry soups. Wait staff remembered our names and our drink preferences each night.
Stateroom Quality
Size was adequate. Cabin guy was great and he always remembered our names.
Ship Staff Quality
Great staff.
Entertainment & Activities
Comedian "Uncle Eddie" was hilarious. Very funny.
