Cruise was "okay" by
Laura B from Chicago, IL Sailing date: Jan 2013Pros: Inside Ship Amentities Cons: Outside Lido Deck - Old, needs renivating The ship was very nicely done inside. The rooms were larger than expected and the beds were very comfortable. Overall very clean ship. We enjoyed all of the amenities inside the ship. What was somewhat disapointing was the worn look of the pools and hottubs on the lido deck. The entire deck needs updating decor. The food on the lido deck was subpar with over cooked and/or fried foods. The buffet inside the dining area was better with fresher, healthier food selections and the food in the formal dining area was good but not exceptional. I have cruised on Carnival many times and I do believe this cruise was a downgrade on the food. Ship Quality

  Great Cruise Experience by
Rebecca P from Cleveland, Ohio Sailing date: Dec 2012Pros: Relaxing, organized, great staff. Cons: Pools were small, hard to find a chair at the pool unless you went in the early morning. The cruise was fun and enjoyable. We didn't have any issues at all while onboard or at any of the ports. We were disappointed that we were not able to make it to Half Moon Cay due to weather, but Carnival made up for it by giving us additional time at Grand Turk. We did 2 shore excursions (Nassau Historic Highlights & Ultimate Snorkeling in Grand Turk). The excursion in Nassau was horrible but the snorkeling trip was AWESOME and a great value. Service on the ship was impecable. Great, hard working staff. Ship QualityThe ship seemed a bit outdated, although I know it is going to be refurbished in early 2013. They claim to have 4 pools, but we could only find 3, and they were very small. Other than that, the ship was nice and easy to get around. Dining/FoodMy rating is largely based on the dinner food and service. The buffet food was not great. The dinner options were impressive, and most of them were very delicious. Stateroom QualityRooms are small, but that is expected. We had 3 people in our room and we were able to manage just fine, even with our luggage. Ship Staff QualityThe ship staff worked so hard to ensure we had a great cuise experience. The service was definitely one of the highlights of the trip for us. Entertainment & ActivitiesThe nightly shows were terrible. It was like watching high school show choir. The comedians were funny. Overall the activies on sea days seemed to be lacking, and some of them you had to pay for. They did not do a great job of keeping us informed on what was going on throughout the day. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

Out of 30+ cruises, WORST CRUISE EVER! by
Paula J from Boca Raton, FL Sailing date: Dec 2012Cons: Theervice was TERRIBLE. The crew and staff acted depressed, lethargic & did not care about service. I don't know if Carnival has changed their feelings/policies regarding good service and customer service. I've been on 30+ cruises on various cruise lines and many of them on Carnival ships. This felt like a no-frills cruise. As a past Carnival cruiser since 1988 I have come to expect cetain amenities. Not only were the amenties gone but I couldn't even get shampoo. This ship was a dissapointment in every way and I will hesitate to ever take another Carnival cruise. There are many cruises I can choose for the same money I paid. Do not take a Carnival cruise if you can help it. Ship QualityI know this ship is going to be refubushed but it was in such disrepair that I can't believe that even the simpliest maintenance was not done. Dining/FoodFood was ok. The dining room service was atrocious! Long waits. Couldn't even get a glass of water. By the time the bar waitresscame back with drinks dinner was over. Just the worst. Stateroom Quality
Ship Staff QualityComplete unwillingness to do anything more than the absolute minimum. Entertainment & ActivitiesEntertainment, shows were the bright spot. Great cruise director. Staff however was badly informed and clearly did not communicate changes in itinerary to passengers. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

If you've been on one Carnival Cruise by
Tina R from Kentucky Sailing date: Dec 2012Pros: Port of Call Cons: Food If you have been on one Carnival Cruise, you've been on them all. This was my second time cruising with Carnival. All activities scheduled was the same as the previous cruise. I'm not sure why Cruise Directors are needed because the schedule of activities were the exact same. Ship QualityPart of the ship's deck was closed for repairs. Also inside was roped off for repairs also.
The water slide only opened on the last day of sailing. Dining/FoodThe food in the Main dining room was the exact same menu as my previous cruise. Nothing special and rather balnd.
The buffet dining on this ship was rather unorganized and poor quality. Stateroom QualityThe balcony room was excellent and very roomy. Entertainment & ActivitiesEntertainment was the same as the other cruise I went on. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

  4 day cruise by
Betty L from Marco Island, FL Sailing date: Dec 2012Pros: Friendly Staff Cons: Age of ship & TV selection Ship was kept very clean considering it's age. The inside looked ok but the outside definitely needed a paint job. Ship QualityOther than aging, clean and easy to find different areas. Dining/FoodEvery thing we ordered was good. Room service was prompt. Dining staff great. Stateroom QualityCabin was clean and had lots of storage. Ship Staff QualityRoom stewards were great and overall staff friendly and helpful. Entertainment & ActivitiesDon't like the thong's on the girls in the show. Does not enhance the entertainment value. Would love to take my grand sons on a cruise but would not allow them to go to the shows! Also, don't want my grand daughter thinking that the dress is appropriate. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

Mediocre followed by disappointment crui by
Kris L from Fernandina Bch, Fl Sailing date: Nov 2012Pros: Having a balcony Cons: The outdated stateroom Our 4th cruise, this one was for our anniversary. Our first impression was that the ship was outdated but were fine with that. What we were not okay with was the need to ask multiple times for something to be taken care of, the sewer/sulfer smell in the hall, construction going on a few doors down or the plastic covering the carpets on our hall and the elevator area. Would have been nice to know ahead of time that the ship was going to be renovated in Jan. 13' Ship QualityThe ship was the largest we have sailed on and was nice, things were pretty easy to locate. It was clean. Dining/FoodWe had brought a bottle of champagne for our anniv night and Anthony, our headwaiter, chilled it ahead of time for us! Food was decent. Stateroom QualityOur actual room was okay, size was fine, balcony was fantastic, will never sail without one again! The closet door was broke, took me asking several times and was finally fixed later the next day. No bathrobes in the room, had to ask for them. Location was good, room was clean, beds were comfortable. Shower curtain was too small for the shower so it made a mess every time you showered. The couch was sticky and they tried to clean it but didn't work, ended up covering it with towels. Ship Staff QualityWe are used to staff being overly friendly and helpful but this time was different. A couple of the Pool Bartenders, Anthony, Kendal and Henry- give them all 5s, everyone else just didn't seem like they wanted to be there. Our stateroom attendant, he seemed to be bothered and put out by us. I accidentally broke a glass in the room and when I told him he said he would get it later. I ended up picking up the big pieces and requesting that the room be vacuumed hours later. I had to ask multiple times for the closet door to be fixed. Had to ask for bathrobes. SPECTACULAR EXPERIENCE by
A Traveler from Indianapolis, IN Sailing date: Oct 2012Pros: FOOD, FRIENDLY STAFF, ORGANIZATION OF BOARDING & EXCURSIONS Cons: JAMAICA EXCURSION I loved the organization from beginning to end. I did not have to do much except read the paperwork. I was met at the airport and did express check-in. At the dock, I waited a few minutes and then boarded. There were not any long lines to go through. The staff at the dining room and my steward called me by name every day. Everyone was very friendly. The food was delicious. I got to try some new foods along with steak and lobster. The rooms were larger than I expected and clean. There were many fun activities to get involved in on the ship. We learned how to line dance. We played trivia games. We had two fabulous shows. The gym was free. It was beautiful, huge and right on the front of the ship with window views on the 10th floor. It was stunning. The spa was extra but having a free gym and sauna was a big plus for us. The Cayman Islands was very beautiful and I loved the excursion with the stingrays. It was expensive on Grand Cayman so be prepared to pay a lot for lunch. I did not like the excursion in Jamaica. I climbed the falls. I paid $8.00 to rent some shoes with grip (needed) and they told me I would get $3.00 back. When I returned the shoes, they told me there was no deposit. I could have bought them for $10.00. The people who sell items to tourists are very pushy. It is difficult to get away from them. Dining/FoodEverything was delicious. Stateroom QualityBigger than I expected. The bathroom and shower were spacious. Ship Staff QualityVery friendly and helpful. Entertainment & ActivitiesWe had two fabulous high quality shows. We had many activities to choose from. Many times there were several things to choose from. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

  Disappointed by
April H from Columbia, SC Sailing date: Oct 2012Pros: Ports Cons: Hot Room, smoking in to many public areas, no adult only deck, long food lines Very disppointed in this cruise. Our room was hot when we asked about a fan we were told once we going more rooms would cool down but he would check back on us later. We never saw him again. Bigger ship lots lots of people, food areas in the back and long lines to get food. several restrooms were closed one room on our floor was flooded from a bathroom and the door was opened and the loud floor drying fans on the whole cruise and room smelled when you walked past. Smoking was allowed in several of the public areas of the ship. No adult only deck. 4th cruise we have been on and this has been the worst. Ports were great, had lots of fun there. I also witnessed on a few different incidents of crew members being very ugly to guests. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodYour time dining was a great option. Dining room is upstairs to the normal dining times area and wait for a time was only a few minutes. Great to be able to go when you wanted to and not have a set time. Stateroom Qualitysize of room was good, room was HOT!! Ship Staff Quality
