Great Customer Service by
A Traveler from Los Angeles Sailing date: Oct 2012Pros: Customer Service, Food. Cons: At Florence, there weren't enough shuttling buses to transport people to the cruise terminal. It was pretty chaotic as people were afraid they would miss the boat. - Great variety of food.
- Staff will do anything to satisfy customer.
- Great shows at night.
- A good amount of fun exercise classes (i.e. Latin Dance)

  A WONDERFUL CRUISE by
Mark B. from New Orleans, LA Sailing date: Feb 2012Pros: Friendly staff Cons: Price of drinks WOW!! We had a wonderful vaction with a great staff aboard the Spirit. Everything was clean and in place. The outgoing staff made it fun to be around them and helped get everyone in a great mood. Ship QualityThe Spirit is a smaller ship which made getting on & off very easy. This also makes it easy to get to know many of the passengers. Dining/FoodI was very pleased with the food, from choices to the quality. All of the dining rooms offered a peaceful setting and were very relaxing. I especially liked the Italian restaurant. Stateroom QualityNothing to compare it to, but we were very comfortable. Ship Staff QualityI can't imagine a staff being more friendly and outgoing. They made the trip. Entertainment & ActivitiesWe enjoyed all the shows we made. I did not care for the bingo, too expensive. 0 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

Great Cruise, Love the smaller ship feel by
Jeanette B from Eyota, MN Sailing date: Jan 2012Pros: Disembarking was so easy and all the staff on board were super Cons: The sea was a little rough but that is out of your control. The Captain kept us informed and safe. The ship's crew were awesome. The ship is layed out so you do not have to walk thru the casino all the time like some are. No waiting for the super meals. The shows were very entertaining and family oriented. The comedian was so funny and the dancers and singers were awesome. The inside cabin was roomy and had lots of storage areas. The Freestyle makes it more relaxing. Ship Quality

A Special Time for the Whole Family by
Tina S from Spokane, WA Sailing date: Aug 2011Pros: Having everything right on the boat for all of us! Kids, 9 and 14 and us as parents! Cons: Having seperate swimming pools. The food in the "dining rooms". I would have to say that we had a wonderful experience on the boat. Both kids, one 9 and one 14 really loved the kids club and the teen club. My husband and I loved hanging out by the pool and enjoying romantic dinners with just the two of us! Ship Quality
Dining/FoodThe kids loved Raffles and the Blue Lagoon Snack Bar. My husband and I ate at Le Bistro and it was fabulous. The Garden Room and Windows were okay but not great. Stateroom QualityWe booked an inside cabin and it was fine because we were never in the room, but next time we will pay the extra for a balcony because having light and fresh air would be nice. Ship Staff QualityWe were astounded by how the staff remember our names after the first day! My daughter, the 9 year old really loved Jack Lopes at the pool bar because he always had a rootbeer ready for "Miss Gabby". Entertainment & Activities
Children's ProgramsWe were suprised that adults couldn't go into the areas the kids and teens were, but once it was explained that they can't do a background check on every parent or guardian it really made me feel secure about where my children were hanging out.

Belize City, BelizeEven though Belize City was our port, we found it to be VERY commercial and not that great. However we just booked our tour with one of the vendors on the street and loved the island that we were taken to. The snorkeling was average but we enjoyed it.
Costa Maya (Mahahual), MexicoWe had booked the "Swim with the Dolphins" excursion through Orbitz and loved it! There were storms on this day so we were happy that we had this excursion.
Cozumel, MexicoLOVED IT! We took the advice of a fellow passenger and walked over the main street at the port and found taxis at the bottom of the escalator where we caught a cab to "Playa Mia" and enjoyed a day of sun and fun. The cab was 16 each way for all 4 of us an because "Playa Mia" is private it was 52.00 for adults but included drink and food buffett and our children were 16.00 each and we just purchased their food seperately for about 8.00.
Roatan (Isla Roatan), Bay Islands, HondurasAgain we booked our excursion through Orbitz (highly reccommend) and we loved the ZipLine and Beach Break. Roatan is beautiful and we enjoyed our time there!
Don't Miss: Ziplining 2 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

  First Time Cruise Experience by
Douglas D from Evansville, IN Sailing date: Jun 2011Pros: Friendliness of staff; stateroom accomodations Cons: Food was average; felt nickeled and dimed. The overall cruise was good. I was disappointed with Belize and Cozumel; but Roatan and Costa Maya were great! I enjoyed the interaction with the staff and found them very friendly. I felt a little nickeled and dimed at the end of the cruise as they are trying to get money out of you at every turn (at least it seems). Ship Quality
Dining/FoodFood taste was typically average with a few bright spots. Food service was exceptional! I liked the freestyle cruising with Norwegian as it gave us a lot of flexibility. Stateroom Quality

Entertainment & ActivitiesMy wife enjoyed the shows--I just couldn't seem to stay awake!

Belize City, BelizeCave Tubing was fun; other than that, Belize did not have much to offer. If we do not go back, that will be fine.
Costa Maya (Mahahual), MexicoRent the golf cart and go exploring. The beach is great, rent a jet ski here as it is 50% of the price of the jet ski in Cozumel.
Don't Miss: Explore! Get out of the town away from the tourists and enjoy! Cozumel, MexicoThey really just want your money. We hung out at Paradise Beach was nice, but it got boring near the end.
Roatan (Isla Roatan), Bay Islands, HondurasThe zip line is the best! The beach and area around it were breathtaking.
Don't Miss: Beach and Zip line 3 out of 3 people found this review helpful.

  A good vacation. by
Galen G from Memphis, TN Sailing date: May 2011Pros: Eating whenever you felt like, friendly staff, plenty to do aboard ship Cons: You have to pay for soda This ship is a little older, but still has plenty to offer regardless of your interests. Everything was as clean as you could expect and the rooms and common areas were in excellent condition. There are plenty of dining options to choose from, though many feature an additional charge, so we stayed away from those. I wasn't disappointed in the standard dining options, though. The breakfast buffet is surprisingly delicious and diverse in its offerings and the Windows restaurant was superb night after night for dinner. The staff in the dining areas were always polite and helpful and amazingly good at remembering names and faces. There was always plenty of entertainment in the evenings, though we tended to roam the decks on our own and just take in the sea air. We had a wonderful trip. Ship Quality

Belize City, BelizeThis country was simply amazing. We are seriously considering traveling here every summer from now on. The people are friendly and interesting and the country itself is simply amazing.
Don't Miss: Mayan ruins Costa Maya (Mahahual), MexicoThis island is still recovering from a recent hurricane, though everyone we met was engaging and polite. I'd recommend going ashore. We went on the catamaran and snorkel excursion. The crew was engaging and entertaining on the trip to and from the reef and the snorkeling was pretty great. The trip back included as much beer/soda/water as you cared to drink, which didn't hurt a thing.
Cozumel, MexicoNot much different than being stateside, aside from the near constant enticements to come to someone's store. We did find a wonderful little beachfront restaurant called "Playa Corona" which I would recommend to anyone looking to relax and enjoy some snorkeling or swimming. There are plenty of hammocks in the shade and the staff were all especially friendly. Just be prepared for the taxi rides to be different prices to and from places.
Roatan (Isla Roatan), Bay Islands, HondurasBeautiful island full of plenty to do.

  A wonderful cruise by
A traveler from Ocean Springs from Ocean Springs, Mississippi Sailing date: Mar 2011Pros: We enjoyed being able to walk around the entire ship on the promendade deck, getting fresh air and depending on the number of laps, half an hour to one hour of exercise. We sailed on the Norwegian Spirit and had a wonderful, relaxing week. The beds were comfortable, the cabin was spacious enough for us to store everything, including all of our dive equipment. We had delicious meals every night, including lobster and steak, and there was always something to do. We booked the crusie so that we could go scuba diving at each of the four ports included on this seven day cruise, but enjoyed so much more. Thank you! Ship QualityThe gym is small but you can get a complete workout. Dining/FoodWe enjoyed chosing from the specialty restaurants, as well as the regular restaurants. We loved the restaurant, Le Bistro, and went twice. Stateroom QualityWe even had space to store all of our dive gear, which we brought along. Ship Staff Quality

Belize City, BelizeBelize diving is some of the best in the world. We were taken to Tuneriffe atol, and had two excellent dives. We saw sea turtles and manta rays, and even a small octopus.
Costa Maya (Mahahual), MexicoWe loved diving in Costa Maya. The reefs are recovering frrom the Hurricane Dean a few years ago, and the dive staff is professional, and friendly.
Cozumel, MexicoIn Cozumel we had another excellent experience. We dove Santa Rosa Wall and then did Paradise reef. The dive ship was well equipped and again, the staff was very professional and friendly.
Roatan (Isla Roatan), Bay Islands, HondurasWe dove with Anthony's Key Resort on the island of Roatan, and had two more great dives. The dive staff were friendly, helpful and very experienced.

Mary S. from Longville, Mn Sailing date: Mar 2011Pros: 2 of the ports Cons: Food and crew I have sailed alot with NCL and other cruise lines, and when it came time to take my whole family (kids and there spouses and grandkids) I picked NCL. What happen to NCL? The food was terrible, (My family said sure the food was good mom) the crew was so rude, I was so hurt and embarresed. I could go on and on but I won't. Sorry to say I won't be back unless things change. Ship Quality
