The ship was very well maintained. We would highly recommend this ship and this itinerary. Our captain kept us well informed of sights and points of interest as we sailed along. Hey Karen and Joey, you guys are the coolest!!! If anyone cares to trade photos hit me up!!! Overall Rating: About the Reviewer: Age: 18 - 29 Cruise Experience: First cruise Traveler Type: Couple Stateroom Type: Oceanview a fantastic cruise by Suzanne B from Salt Lake City, UT Sailing date: Jun 2010 Pros: as promised, the service was impeccable on Holland America Cons: the ship's decor was a bit out-dated and the only heated pool and hot tub were very centrally located (not super relaxing for a soak) Overall, I have a favorable impression of the ship. Ship Details: Ship Quality Dining/Food Stateroom Quality While we had a spectacular view out our bow window, we were woken up (both late at night and in the morning) by the theater, which was apparently directly below our room. It definitely diminshed my overall impression which would have otherwise been excellent. Don't Miss: the whale watching evening cruise - AMAZING!! Ketchikan, Alaska I loved this city, definitely my favorite of the trip...I only wish we had had more time in port. Don't Miss: Sea Kayaking (although we went with a private company for a smaller tour group). Yu have to get out on the water and explore the smaller islands. Skagway, Alaska this town was very authentic and fun to wander around. Sailing date: Mar 2007 Pros: Stateroom larger than most, well layed out and plenty of closets. You never feel cramped. The bed is very comfortable too! Ship was beautiful and spotless. Live flowers everywhere. Food was terrific, variety, well prepared, and fresh! Only drawback is clientele is rather elderly at times too elderly. But not many children either.
