Lot's of picture taking opportunities :) by
A Traveler from Kansas Sailing date: May 2012Pros: The dinning staff at dinner was very good. breakfast and lunch was good, but I would have liked biscuits and gravy for breakfast. The daily drink was a great way to try something different everyday and for a good price. Reusing the glass you buy on the first day of the cruise, will save you 1$ on every drink after the first :) Ship Quality
Dining/FoodMy wife and I enjoyed the food at dinner, and the staff putting on a little show every nite, was a nice touch. Stateroom QualityWe liked the towel animals laying in the room every night. We took pictures of them to show the kids when we got home. Ship Staff Qualitythe staff was very friendly, and liked to talk to us about our day. Entertainment & ActivitiesIt's fun to play Air hockey, or ms. pacman, late at night in the 24 hour arcade. Nice way to unwind after a day of walking and sightseeing. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

Our 40th Anniversary Alaska Cruise by
Wilda P from Banning, Ca. Sailing date: May 2012Pros: We liked the beautiful views of Alaska the most along with the excurisions in Alaska. Cons: That someone in the information booth on the dock in Skagway told us wrong information and it made us miss our first excursion. We had an absolutely wonderful time on our trip to Alaska on the Spirit booked through Orbitz. We went the end of May and had wonderful weather while we were there and everyone was friendly and accommodating. The only problem we had for the whole week was in Skagway someone on the dock gave us wrong information about where to wait for our excursion and it caused us to miss our train. Be sure to read very carefully where to meet for your excursions. This was the first time we booked the balcony. We loved it!!! Ship Quality

Our first cruise...a trip of a lifetime! by
Tim C. from Bend, Oregon Sailing date: Mar 2012Pros: The ship was beautiful. There was such great variety of activities and food. The ship and Cabo were safe and hospitable. Cons: The coffee was bad. Had to be back to ship too early---wanted to stay on shore at least until 10:00 first night. The ship was clean, well decorated, well furnished, beautiful. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodIncredible quantify of food available, very good food. Stateroom Quality
Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & ActivitiesShip excursions were overpriced compared to booking your own shore activities. Ship instilled fear and anxiety for local trips that was unnecessary and not appreciated. Children's Programs

  A cool cruise by
Gwendy A. from Centennial, CO Sailing date: Jul 2011Pros: This cruise, besides being to an area of spectacular scenery, offered a break from the heat of mid-summer! Cons: A couple of the stops were so short it was hard to fit in an excursion or really enjoy the port. We recently returned from a cruise to Alaska aboard the Carnival Spirit. What a beautiful ship and friendly staff! The itinerary included spectacular scenery in the Tracy Arm fjord and stops at quaint towns along the way. We would highly recommend this particular cruise. Juneau, AlaskaThis port provided a lot of jewelry stores, in which we were not that interested, but others may be.
Don't Miss: The gold panning and salmon bake were incredible. Definitely worth the time. Ketchikan, AlaskaWe loved this quaint little fishing village. It was fun to watch from our balcony as all the seaplanes came and went. Would have liked a little more time there.
Skagway, AlaskaSkagway is a cute town with lots of shopping and history.
Don't Miss: We really enjoyed the White Pass and Yukon Railroad excursion. Victoria, British ColumbiaWe just didn't have much time to enjoy this port. The walk downtown was pleasant. And the Empress Hotel and parliament buildings are beautiful.

  Great Cruise by
Chris C from MS Sailing date: Jun 2011Pros: Alaska was beautiful. You can't imagine the views! A balcony room is a must for the whale watching. The staff was wonderful. Good dining options. Complimentary rooms service was a kid's dream. Cons: Not enough signage. It was hard to find areas like the gym and arcade. First time cruising. We are hooked. If you are looking for a great staff, fun activities, great shore excursions, and a great family time, this is it. The room was nice. The room attendant was great. There was always someone around if we needed something. Ship QualityThe ship was clean was plenty of activities while at sea. We enjoyed sitting on the Lido deck whale watching. Dining/FoodThere was always something available. My son loved the grill with hot dogs and cheese fries and ice cream available 24 / 7. Stateroom QualityOur room attendant was wonderful. We didn't really see her that much but the room was cleaned spotless twice a day. We couldn't wait to get back to the room in the evening to see what towel animal was waiting. Ship Staff QualityThe staff was friendly and accommodating. There was always someone around if you needed anything. Entertainment & Activities

Juneau, AlaskaThe highlight of the trip was the helicopter tour and dog-sledding excursion. I would return to Juneau just to experience that again. A great family experience.
Don't Miss: Dog Sledding / Glacier Helicopter Tour Ketchikan, AlaskaMore jewelry and t-shirt shops. Not enough time to really enjoy the port and see the sites.
Skagway, AlaskaThe Steam Engine Train ride was a wonderful family experience. The scenery was beyond beautiful.
Don't Miss: Steam Engine Train Tour Victoria, British ColumbiaBeautiful! We didn't have a lot of time. A guided tour is a must to get the full experience.

Fun Cruise San Diego to Acapulco by
Hope from San Diego, CA Sailing date: Feb 2009Pros: Length of time on ship and in the ports Cons: Missed having an adults-only pool Our first time on Carnival and we were pleasantly surprised. The layout with the atrium and adjoining areas, plus the diningrooms and theatre, were all beautiful. Our stateroom was narrow but had sufficient storage and since we upgraded to the larger balcony, did not feel squished. Family member was next door and crew opened the adjoining balcony door which made it even more enjoyable. All the staff were great and most helpful. Everything was well managed and there were enough activities to keep people happy during the total of 4 days at sea. The food was all quite good, and ample of course. Enjoyed the ports of call, especially Acapulco which is still beautiful. We opted to NOT book our shore excursions through the ship this time, since our small group had different needs and physical abilities. At each location we ventured off and hired a van driver or cab to take us around the city and beach. We had great experiences all the way around and saved at least half compared to similar excursions arranged by the ship. It helps that my husband can speak Spanish too, but most everyone was fluent in English. The embarcation and debarcation went very quickly. The evening shows were all entertaining and the chorus dancers displayed an incredable array of moves and styles. The cruise director "Chris" grows on you, and he was a hoot when giving his version of the Blues Brothers concert. We live in San Diego so this adventure was incredibly convenient. The whole experience was relaxing and fun. We would highly recommend it if you're comfortable with "down to earth" cruising and ports of call. The 8 days was just the right amount of time too. A Fantastic Cruise by
Trish W from Denver, Colorado Sailing date: Dec 2008Pros: The Spirit was elegant and very comfortable with a genuine crew who loved what they do! Cons: When it ended and we had to come home to -2 degrees of winter in Denver Just the right size...not too big and not too small. Elegant and very comfortable. Stateroom was very comfortable and always kept immaculate. The extra large balcony was definitely a plus to pay for. Always had fun towel animals waiting for us upon our return from excellent dinners and outstanding shows! Every person on the ship's crew was super friendly and made us feel special. Plus their special dinning experience at The Supper Club was a true epicurean's delight which should not be missed. Ship QualityThe Spirit was just the right size, easy to get around, spotless, and lots of neat areas to explore for music, gambling, shopping and eating! Dining/FoodVery good dinners with my favorites being the pasta dishes....excellent sauces! Be sure to dine in their Supper Club which features superb dishes that were elegantly presented and had an outstanding musical duo to listen and dance to! Stateroom QualitySpotless! Great towel animals also! Ship Staff QualityEveryone was very friendly and went "above and beyond" to make you feel special! Entertainment & ActivitiesVery talented singers and dancers with a great selection of shows to see. Along with a 33 piece orchestra and lavish costumes......excellent entertainment! Children's ProgramsThe entertainment staff hosted a special Christmas Show, including the children on the cruise, which we shall always remember as one of the best parts of their entertainment.
