Out of 30+ cruises, WORST CRUISE EVER! by
Paula J from Boca Raton, FL Sailing date: Dec 2012Cons: Theervice was TERRIBLE. The crew and staff acted depressed, lethargic & did not care about service. I don't know if Carnival has changed their feelings/policies regarding good service and customer service. I've been on 30+ cruises on various cruise lines and many of them on Carnival ships. This felt like a no-frills cruise. As a past Carnival cruiser since 1988 I have come to expect cetain amenities. Not only were the amenties gone but I couldn't even get shampoo. This ship was a dissapointment in every way and I will hesitate to ever take another Carnival cruise. There are many cruises I can choose for the same money I paid. Do not take a Carnival cruise if you can help it. Ship QualityI know this ship is going to be refubushed but it was in such disrepair that I can't believe that even the simpliest maintenance was not done. Dining/FoodFood was ok. The dining room service was atrocious! Long waits. Couldn't even get a glass of water. By the time the bar waitresscame back with drinks dinner was over. Just the worst. Stateroom Quality
Ship Staff QualityComplete unwillingness to do anything more than the absolute minimum. Entertainment & ActivitiesEntertainment, shows were the bright spot. Great cruise director. Staff however was badly informed and clearly did not communicate changes in itinerary to passengers. 0 out of 0 people found this review helpful.

  Worst Cruise Ever by
Casey A. from Ann Arbor MI Sailing date: Mar 2012Pros: Half Moon Cay was really nice. Cons: The Staff I have been on several of the Carnival ships and have always had a Great time and experience...not this time...I hope it was just a fluke but as of right now I wont be cruising Carnival again. The staff had poor attutidues with the exception of one or two. The ability to get any service in the bars was poor, at the adult only pool you could not get past the kids to get a drink, and if you did then the bartender would tell you to hold on until he got the kids what they wanted. First and last cruise of my life by
A Traveler from kissimme,FL Sailing date: Mar 2012We were supposed to stop at Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay and Nassau, finally after 4 days is the ocean we could stop by Nassau. I understand the weather wasn't favorable but my question is "Couldn't we go in another direction?" The ship was clean but stinky, people was sick, throwing out everywhere. Why we had to go 2 days up to Grand Turk if (I think) They knew we won't be able to stop. And then keep going to Half Moon Cay where we (again) weren't able to stop, so 4 days up and down sick and closed in a ship with no activities. Even the water in the pools were cold. I wanted to get a plane and come back to Miami. This was my first cruise and my last one too. I will never go in a cruise again. Dining/Food

  Carnival Cruise by
A Traveler from Florida Sailing date: Nov 2011Pros: The Dining Room Food Cons: The lines, the lack of service, kids program, older ship We have cruised many times on other cruise lines but never on Carnival. I was not impressed. We were a group of 14, 6 of which were kids. I felt that the kids program was not appropriate for them. Our kids did not even want to go to the kids program as they hated it the one night they went. They said it was boring. I felt that the service was poor and that they were not readily available to clear tables, cut in front of you while you passsed through instead of allowing you to go first. There were lines for everything. It seemed that the ship was old and very different from the newer ships. It seemed as it everything was disorganized but at the same time there were lots of rules. Not worth the money by
Melissa R from Georgia Sailing date: Sep 2011Pros: Cozumel Cons: the cost (everything cost extra), the food, the ship (old and oudated) The ship was extremely outdated. Both pool areas were entirely too small for a ship with that many people on it. The food was terrible. The drinks were entirely too expensive. Everything cost extra once you get on the ship. I would rather be charged up front and know how much I am paying. Ship QualityThe ship was outdated. It felt dirty and dingy. The layout was not great.....the pool areas were entirely too small for a ship of that size with that many people on it. The decor was outdated. I felt like I was living in the 80's or early 90's. Dining/FoodThe buffet food was terrible. The sit down dining was somewhat better, but still overall was not great. The dining times were convenient. I did not feel it was necessary to sit us at the same table (side by side) with complete strangers at breakfast and lunch with there were hundreds of empty tables. Stateroom QualityThe location was convenient. The overall size was too be expected on a cruise ship. The decor was outdated. The bathroom felt dirty and dingy. Overall comfort was sufficient. Ship Staff QualityThe staff was friendly and helpful for the most part. Entertainment & Activities

Cozumel, MexicoCozumel is beautiful. The excursions were a little pricey and it was necessary to do an excursion in order to see any of Cozumel and be safe at the same time.

Least favorite among all past cruises by
Erin H. from Pocahontas, AR Sailing date: Sep 2011Pros: Port of Calls activities...which didn't have anything to do with the cruise line Cons: Food, Crew, Stateroom condition By far the worse cruise I have taken!! Food wasn't good (one night; most of our people didn't even eat their dinner), staffs were cold, the room was a little stinky (urine smell), limited TV program/channel, and the shows were a bit too much for youth.
Ship QualityGuess it is for their cleaning convenience. Great amount of the ship was covered by bright purple aluminum wall/plate....lost the ship elegant and felt caged. Oh, the hot tub is COLD, and nobody were available to fix the problem.
Dining/FoodNothing that I could care for...food was either uncer cook or over cook (even the deserts). Ice cream just tasted like ice with color.
Stateroom Qualitybathroom smelled like urine....so it pretty much ruined my trip.
Ship Staff QualityUnfriendly crew members (mostly of them anyway)....from waiters/waitresses, bartenders, house keepers, to the guest service operators. Fun ship alright.
Entertainment & ActivitiesThe comedian saved this section....he was the only one worth to see. Dancing show was a bit rate PG-13 or higher. The entertainment during dinner fell below past experience.

  Not so good Cruise by
Ronald P from Pocahontas, Arkansas Sailing date: Sep 2011Pros: Snorkeling Cons: The service on the ship I have cruised on Carnival more than 10 times. This was the worst of the worst service I have every seen on a cruise ship and I have been on many others as well. The people doing the service were older and not very clean or friendly. Example. We were served a glass of wine that was old and bad. I ask the waiter that walked by about it and his response was," I did not serve you, ask your on waiter" This was in the piano bar. The food on the last night was not eatable and I am a very easy person to please with food. I have taken my company employees on a cruise two years in a row on Carnival but next year we will do something else. Ship Quality
Dining/FoodNot just bad but a real disappointment Stateroom Quality
Ship Staff QualityThe crew was older and acted kind of like Eastern and Pan Am before they went bankrupt Entertainment & Activities

Not the best, at all. by
Jaclyn M. from NY, NY Sailing date: Feb 2010Pros: Hardly any children, some of the adult shows. Cons: The ship. The ship itself was old and outdated. We were not able to go to one of our ports because the ship was moving too slow. Ship QualityCould not get to dining room without going up one floor, walk all the way across the ship, then down one floor. Dining/FoodPoor selection, choices often repeated from day to day. Sushi was excellent however. Stateroom QualityOutdated, but very roomy and comfortable. Ship Staff QualitySmiles were rare, our waitor however was excellent. Entertainment & Activities

  Pick Another Ship! by
Cassie S. from Naples, FL Sailing date: Oct 2009Pros: Schedule Cons: Everything! Welllll....I had a great time on this ship, but it had nothing to do with the ship itself, staff, food, or activities on board and that's for sure! I have cruised with Carnival many times as a child and now as a young adult. I was so looking forward to sitting on the deck sipping mojitos with no care in the world. Well, believe you me that happened...but it had nothing to do with DESTINY! Staff was super rude (we couldn't get ice or a wine opener for hours...even after offering to go get it from them), we could never find someone to get us a drink (even at the bars), and activities were few and far between. We went on this cruise over Halloween weekend...you would think they'd be prepared for a wild time. Think again. BOOOO on Destiny. I will cruise with Carnival again, as I feel it's usually great, however I strongly advise people AGAINIST choosing Destiny. Make it short with a 3 day to the Bahamas or maybe a ship out of Tampa port. Take my advice. It's a good price for a reason. :( Dining/FoodBLAH! I mean, I may be a picky eater but could always find decent food on these cruise ships. This was a first. We went to the formal dinner on the first night and almost didn't go on the Captains Ball night just because we felt like it was a waste of time. The food was horrible! And I am pretty easy to please (even though it seems I am a complainer based on this review, i'm really not!). Stateroom QualityRoom was typical, we had a balcony on the back, top level of cabins on ship. Definitely recommend that location as the sunset is AMAZING. Ship Staff QualityStaff was unfriendly and it was almost impossible to get a drink! I have cruised on several other Carnival ships that made it almost impossible NOT to drink and here we were trying to hunt a cocktail server down! Entertainment & ActivitiesThere was never anything going on! I am used to cruising on ships where you have to choose from several options and this boat was BORING! 7 out of 10 people found this review helpful.
