The Fleet:
Viking River Cruise fleet consists of 23 ships that sail Europe, 4 ships that sail Russia and the Ukraine, and 2 ships that sail China and Southeast Asia. Viking River Cruises also charters out a number of ships for itineraries in Egypt. These are intimate vessels that were built solely to sail on rivers and each can hold 120 to 260 guests.

In 2012 Viking will introduce six new builds - Viking Freya, Viking Idun, Viking Njord, Viking Odin, Viking Embla and Viking Aegir. All of those ships are part of the Longship class that features suites and staterooms with full-size verandas, full-size staterooms, as well as the Aquavit Terrace - which has floor-to-ceiling windows that roll open to create a unique open air lounge.

Onboard:
Onboard guests can expect an unpretentious atmosphere with casual and comfortable dress and no formal nights. There are Captain's dinners, performances and other events where guests might want to bring dressier casual wear. All Viking ship interiors and staterooms are non smoking and each ship has designated outdoor smoking areas.

The public areas on the ships offer an inviting setting for guests to meet and enjoy a beverage while enjoying panoramic views in the restaurant and lounge or 360 degree views on the outdoor sun deck.
